  1. Oh, those changes. Really interesting leaks. Im really pleased with them, it seems like there is much more than i expected to AoS 3.0. Some things may seem wrong like the CA that allow you to shoot when being charged, but im sure there will be other things to balance that, like units that charge having an innate buff, or special CA buffs for them. It sound a lot like the thing I wrote about a revamped CA system. The battalions stuff sound a lot like the revamped list building I wanted too. Removing faction battalions will encourage the presence of more army specific rules or sub-faction rules, and that may be too what I wanted about rules of battalions being more relevant.
  2. We cannot see the full picture yet. An imporved Look Out Sir, CAs that are strictly anti-shoot and other shooting nerfs (like one for shooting more than half your range) may exist. Also, a bonus to the units that charge like an innate +1 to something, or even special CAs aimed to buff units that charge may be present.
  3. Any suspected rule in particular? Or just the typical speculation? -Probably a nerf to shooting, like an improved Look Out Sir. -Probably a nerf to first turn/double turn advantage, like preventig double turn to happen between the first and second round of the game. -Probably an improved bravery system. -Probably an improved terrain system. Into the unlikely/wishful thinking: -An improved list building with more freedom in battlelines but more limitations in heroes/behemoths/elites. -More interactivity in the shooting phase, like being back and forth the same way as the combat phase, and being able to activate non-shooting units to improve their defense (something like raising shields or hunkering down). -An improved Command Points/Command Abilities system with more CPs to expend and more tactical decisions to make (like each army having his own 6 generic CAs and generating 2CPs a turn instead of one) -A rework to the command trait/artifacts system to make heroes more customizable (like each hero choosing a trait and artifact, or having to pay a few extra points for traits and artifacts but having no limit, then the general having two traits, two artifacts, or an special list of traits and artifacts only for him.) -Named characters that are generals fixed in some way (like each having some special rule/improvement while being the general that is worth enough) -A rework to battalions that detach them from the drop wars and the CP wars, so we can make battalions be cool due to their rules and not some abstract unepic gameplay mechanics. And probably more things that I cannot remember right now.
  4. Another funny thing that I noticed, Dexcessa is wielding a different staff in the art than in the model. The one in the art looks bigger and better fit for combat, while the one in the actual model is being hold in a strange way to be used as a weapon. I wonder if the guy that build the model did it wrong (due to both twins sharing the same kit) and they got to push with it for the article (being new model monday and so). That would explain why both twins got the same tip on the staff, and why Dexcessa's staff dosn't seem that much larger or being hold properly as a weapon. Or maybe simply the art was different...
  5. I don't know, there are some weirdly specific designs there sharing clothes with the supposed "new herald", even one that can only be seen in the thumbnail
  6. Ok guys, i discovered something exciting. There seems to be new models hidden in the twins trailer, they seem to be new Daemonettes of some kind (maybe is only the herald, but they seem to be multiple models so maybe is a new kit for Daemonettes or a new type of Daemonette). The process of discovering this was a little complex, so i will try to explain. It all started when I noticed two small shadowy figures at the end of the Twins trailer when it say "Embrace Excess", then I started researching about one of them that seems to be holding a staff. I looked at all the old banners and icons trying to find a match, but it looked completely new to me. At the moment I was going to write about this I noticed the supposed staff seems unattached to the current model, so I tought it may be simply a torch-like field decoration. Still it was weird to put two random models to decorate that part of the video. I was looking then at the beggining to make sure the last two shadows were not simply reused drawings from the beggining that depict some Daemonettes at the feet of the Twins, and I discovered something amazing. That staff is actually depicted in the drawing, being wield by a special Daemonette with four arms. But the shadow at the end is much more solid-like akin to a sculpt. That basically confirm that this model exist both in conceptual art and physical form. And since at the end you can see multiple shadows, it more or less confirm that both ar new models. The shadows are a little confusing, so it may be two models in a single base similar to Enrapturess and Epitome. We wil see. Embrace our excess.
  7. If they got any version of the Keeper CA, then the regular KoS will be gone for good. That may be a marketing/selling move from GW, a really mean one. Forcing you to buy Dexcessa to have "The good KoS" but since is a named character you better buy the regular worst KoS too to be able to summon. If they go the good way tho, KoS will retain her singular CA and even go down some points in the future. I find Dexcessa headpiece/hornthorns very similar to Morathi Khaine too. It may be related. One is like the goddess of murder and the other is like the embodiment of the sin of murder. But this is definitely your usual case of "We try to destroy Slaanesh in such an excessive way and wich such excess of zeal we actually end empowering him with new tools" Wondering about rules. Looking at how Fiends got some anti-magic and Infernal Enrapturess is a pure anti-magic model. I wonder if GW will dear to make Synessa a meta-shifting anti-spelldom. Something like "Whenever an enemy wizard succesfully cast a spell he takes a mortal wound." She may be an unbind-dom instead of an spell-dom. Cannot see any of the two saving us from shooting-meta tho.
  8. That is too dangerous, probably a big design mistake, simply because you make them unfair, you risk making them overcosted when taken alone or undercosted when taken together, and is the same reason other discounts like the Daemonettes one are gone, because pointing in that way cannot be balanced. I can see a sub-faction or battalion making them work together because then you loose other advantages or pay extra points. GW may still do it anyway, they made other similar mistakes in the past.
  9. I think they will be around 300/400 pts so when you take both you pay 600/800 and compare to other God level miniatures. I also think Dexcessa is gonna be basically a 300pts beatstick, but really really beatstick (unless regular KoS that don't really hit that hard on average). Not having big weapons may mean a big number of weaker attacks, wich translate into being less swingy. Also perfect objective for the KoS CA. You cannot take two Dexcessa but you can make her fight twice. For Synessa I bet she will be an offensive buff support to contrast with Glutos defensive buff nature. Anyway if Synessa can regularly cast Pavane of Slaanesh and Hysterical Frenzy (or both) or have a damage dealing base spell, she may be a good DPS too. The description point more toward an enemy debuff/manipulation base spell, but that may be a CA or passive ability.
  10. Also Dexcessa seems right-handed and Synessa seems left-handed considering the main weapon is the scepter. Dex probably relate to being dextrous in combat, while Syn may relate to being sinister or being sinful, as she knows/encourages your sins, being the corruptor/manipulative of the twins. I wonder, if each one got a wide buff/aura (or enemy debuff aura), maybe that explain or justify the points of certain units. Like imagine that one gives a buff aura of +1 attack, then you are looking at Painbringers with 3 attacks and Twinsouls with 4 attacks, maybe even Blissbarb Archers with 3 shoots. If something like that was planned since the beginning, then our point cost start making more sense. I wonder what will be the point cost, they probably price the twins not too high to be able to play with both at the same time, but they got to be high enough to justify their god-like state. 300/600 or maybe 400/800. Knowing that Slaanesh got no cheap battlelines (unless you go outside the tome) they cannot be like 500 or 600 each, or you will have no army. The current KoS is already 340, it would be weird for these direct spawns of Slaanesh to be less points (and be less powerful). Also named characters, so no artefacts or traits (maybe special rules if they are general) Im not sure if our spell lore is good enough to justify a super-caster, maybe we get some extra additional spells, like a spell-lore only for Exalted Greater Daemons or 3 extra spells for the Greater Daemons Lore. And then thinking of Synessa, she will have bonus to casting and a good base spell I assume, but i wonder if she end being a triple caster, or having that weird rule of knowing all the spells in Slaanesh spell lores (wich would make a lot of sense for her). Dexcessa spell will probably be a self-buff (or enemy debuff that indirectly buff you). One cool rule for any of them would be to increase Euphoric Killers to a 5+ for friendly Hedonites.
  11. Im really happy with the twins. They present many aspects of the original Daemons i designed for Black Library two years ago, the same happened to the mortals they released and the mortals i created (speaking strictly of aesthetics). Last time I talked about the KoS model I pointed that the design of the old FW model was more of my taste, and that i was somewhat dissapointed (still admiting is an amazing model). These twins seems more like the FW model and are totally spot on for me at a design level. Their clothes are way more revealing, almost nude, and the multiple chests are back too (akin to fiends, i really like that). My only criticism, i don't like the way they float on their clothes, would have liked them more standing or with the tip of the feet glued to the base or something. Not sure if that kind of modification can be done without compromising the balance of the current model. I bet these two would be bigger KoS, i mean akin to Exalted Keeper of Secrets. Not sure about them taking out Gluttos or the regular KoS tho, i think every behemoth is like a different class. Glutos is a tank, better anchor for summoning and durability, his aura is good for protecting your units. Dexcessa seems like the heavy hitter DPS. Current KoS is a support piece that allow you to make the others fight twice, and if this ability remain unique, you still want her to make Dexcessa fight twice. Synessa is probably gonna be a support focused on long range and buffing your troops, but not a tank like Gluttos. Now i want to do an army with 4 Greater Daemons using the twins. We will probably receive a sub-faction or battalion aimed to deploy both twins together, it may be just for fluff or actually good. I think points will be high again, the twins were probably design alongside the rest of our battletome. It will take more time for GW to actually fix Slaanesh points. Maybe we are lucky and they are pointed more aggresively like Glutos and Slickblades, we will see. About the gender of the twins. As a non-binary person in real life (actually gender-fluid person, that mean i change genders depending on mood) one of the things i really like about Slaanesh is that i feel represented in a fantasy army. Im sure you can simply say that your Dexcessa is a boy, or that your twins are actually original characters represented by those models and make them whathever you like. A big thing in warhammer is to personalize your army to make your own fluff. My army is themed around me and my girlfriend, so i want to make one of the twins be me and the other be her. Is the same i want to do with Syll'Esske, i plan to paint Esske as me and Syll as her, then use the model as the leader of a warband in a Mordheim-like campaign with my friends.
  12. I can see the Viceleader and Shardspeaker being worth 120 in a different meta, but they are almost guaranteed to fail their casting in our current spell-dom meta. Maybe that is why 100pts sound more fair in my head. I would also make the Infernal Enrapturess 120pts for the same reason, she is only good at disrupting low casters, the true spell-doms simply ignore her. I don't think is fair to simply say that IDK would be fine having it in a 4+ every single turn, because that afirmation seems to ignore that only our Daemon Heroes do locus and not our entire army. So you got to say something like "only some specific heroes, not even all in the army, get to do that roll, and you can only roll once per enemy unit no matter what". Our locus got some really weird limitations after all. About LRL double activation being less powerful than our current locus. I don't think so. Our locus got some very specific situations in wich is useless (being charged and thus being already pile in by the enemy, or being in combat with a big centerpice monster that don't care about pile in moves) to that specific situations you add the moments in wich you fail the roll to apply it into a unit that really matters. So in some specific situations is better and in others is worst, and i don't think that justify the random roll or it being tied so specifically to the Daemon keyword. But is just a personal biased opinion. If the rest of the army were stronger, with the powerful models being cheaper, im sure i would feel locus as a fun little addon that is not core to the playstyle of the army. Like, if KoS really hit like a truck in the same way as other big monster centerpieces that cost 300+ points, im sure i would take the locus as a plus to the general extra goodness of the model. Or if Viceleader spell were giving +1 to hit instead of rerolling 1s (wich you can obtain in a million other ways) the locus may not feel so core and needed to me. It is also not the same a KoS that cost 340pts and one that cost 280pts (or 300pts or whathever). The more worth per point you make a unit the more you can think at the extra non-stat things as being an addon and not the core reason why you use it.
  13. I disagree with the shardspeaker being balanced in a 3+ because the range is really short and it points an enemy instead of an ally. In other armies you have instant effects that don't require a dice roll, that got better ranges or that point toward your own units making the positioning way easier. But i agree with the pray comparison. I disagree with the Shardspeaker himself being balanced at 150pts, other armies got similar support tools in the 100pts range, that is a 50% point cost difference, wich is a lot. I understand that half of the AoS armies got unreliable mechanics too, and the other half don't, but that dosn't fix the problem, simply aknowledge that even more problems exist. As how would i change Viceleader and shardspeaker. Well, both heroes with a cost of 100pts seems worth to me, not gambling so many points into such unreliable mechanics make them less painful to fail. Anyway, i was thinking earlier how would i fix locus specifically. I think i would limit locus to one per turn but make it automatically hit (or hit in a 2+). I also have some other ideas of what locus can be turned into, but that would be another completely different ability. To me it would be very interesting if it were simply "You always activate your first unit before your opponent" meaning that it got no effect in your turn, but in the opponent turn you get to activate one unit before he start activating his. And is not a fight first or fight last ability so dosn't play into the activation wars, it simply give you priority during the enemy turn. Now let's do an exercise of imagination. Let's think for a moment in a world in wich LRL only get to do his double activation if they roll a 4+. Or IDK only get to fight first during the high tide in a 4+. Yep, there is a reason why people hate the bad moon mechanics, because they are incredibly random. In a more deep tough process, making something random dosn't balance it, it just make it unbalanced half the time and worthless the other half. Thats why our last version of locus, that was also random, no longer exist. While designing a game, the feelings that the player will experience should be important too. Generating more "This is epic i feel powerful" moments than "Oh ******, i don't get to play with my toys AGAIN" moments. Making something powerful is not unbalanced as long as it cost the apropiate amount of points. Making something weak is not unbalanced unless it is not pointed apropiately. Don't take my opinion too serious because im simply a no-one that can be wrong in all places. But almost everyone seems to agre that Slaanesh update was poorly design in comparison to other recent releases (DoK and LRL) by having weaker less complex mechanics and an excessively taxing point cost of units.
  14. Our exalted seekers are strong indeed, i often defend them as being the powerful correctly pointed thing in our army (along with Glutos). The sad thing is when you try and compare them to Hellstriders, regular Seekers, regular Chariots, Paibringers or Twinsouls (I see some people defending Twinsouls but im not so sure about them, i still think Slickblades outshadow them by performing way better) I think there is plenty of things to envy in other armies, starting with efficiency per point cost. That can be easily fixed in the future anyway. The unreliability of Locus and Shardspeaker is a serious matter tho. Something that certainly would be easier to gulp if the heroes were cheaper.
  15. That is really interesting. Yeah i started writing "If im not mistaken" because i cannot find the full rules and was talking out of memory from different videos, so was self-aware of maybe being wrong. Disengaging is not for your turn when you charge. The theory is that you got lets say 3 units of these guys. You go to shooting range and shoot, the enemy charge you, one of your units is destroyed but the other two disengage. You shoot again in your turn, the enemy charge you again, one of your units is destroyed but the other disengage. The last unit shoot. I don't know if you can fit 5 in the battallion, but if you do so you guarantee them surviving till the last round. This is pobably useless in practice as meta armies dosn't need to charge you to kill you, but is still interesting. Didn't know that the good profile of the bows was considered mele, that change a lot. 130pts for 10 wounds is not cheap unless you are Slaanesh after all, then you pay 140, 150 or even 170 for that kind of wounds (more if we start going into chariots). Remember that people is not complaining about LRL new release being too powerful, they are complaining about it being a mockery for Slaanesh, and i can totally see it. These guys compare more to Hellstriders than Blissbarb Seekers due to their point cost and close combat speciallity. Sure LRL got way more OP things that make these guys unplayable, and that make things even worst, not better.
  16. If im not mistaken these guys cost 130pts, the pile in shenanigans can be done all the time in certain subfaction (they also got +1 attack with the bows if within 3 of an enemy unit in the same subfaction, so more attacks in close combat) and got -2 rend. They can pile in out of combat (can ignore the pile in to the closest model) so they can freely disengage an enemy that charge them, since LRL activate two units every time, you can disengage two of these units as your first counter-activation, making them a total pain to remove from the table. Now, if we are talking about the Blissbarb Seekers magically going down to 130pts, i can see the deal. Blissbarb Seekers are not bad anyway, at least you get insane movement speed in a bag of 20 wounds for a relative cheap point cost. But yeah, other guys get better toys for the most part. And if you are counting Seeker Cavalcade, remember that it cost even more points too, so you got to inflate the point cost of your Blissbarb Seekers a little. The subfaction that make the LRL do their improved shenanigans is free tho. Then we go to the complicated area of comparing our summoning to their double activation and our exploding 6s to the Aetherquartz mechaninc... Yeah, everyone get his own OP mehcanics in the allegiance abilities, but some pay an expensive extra point cost for them (poor Slaanesh) and others don't.
  17. We still got very important rules locked in Wrath of the Everchosen. If HoS was suposed to release last summer, and BR:Whathever with Slaanesh rules was prepared for this summer, that is a year between both books. Is not that rare. LRL prove that current schedule is tricky as they got 2 battletomes and a special book (BR:Teclis) release in a very short span of time.
  18. If it is something related to AoS 3.0 they should have waited for the General's Handbook to adjust every army at the same time. Not doing that in such a way is a big nonsensical mistake.
  19. I can see a subfaction/batallion/hero giving Twinsouls both bonuses all the time, that is the kind of synergy you would see in other battletomes. Imagine a Twinsoul hero doing that and making them battleline. Or them having both bonuses as long as they are within 12 of a Mortal Hero and a Daemon Hero. Or them having both bonuses while within 12 of Syl'Eskke (maybe in a Syl'Eskke special batallion). Or even a spell giving them both bonuses until your next hero phase, an extra spell that every wizard in your army knows if any Twinsoul unit is on the table. That is the level of design in other new battletomes, but not for slaanesh, slaanesh is not allowed to have such tools. That is what people refer as our battletome having bad/lackluster design. Is like if everything was half done and then sealed without being finish. Wich may actually be the case, we don't know what kind of revamp may Slaanesh see once a Broken Realms book feature new rules, our battletome was catch in the Covid era and extremely delayed, so maybe we aren't that far of having additional rules. That would somewhat explain why our daemon side was so neglected not having new rules for the most part. I can see BR: Be'Lakor revamping basic daemons and small herald heroes as part of a new Legions of Chaos Ascendant rework. And the new Slaanesh physical body is a weird plot device that seems like a future gargantuan model for the army or maybe a source for a new type of Daemon (would be cool if we start to see exalted Daemonettes and Fiends the same as we now have Exalted Seekers. Maybe even exalted Keeper of Secrets, or a chariot of Exalted Seekers).
  20. The discomfort is increased by the way they released HoS with massive point ups along with DoK with massive point reductions. And now BR:Teclis confirms that the point cost is not a tendency. Plus Warhammer community advertising the units as something they aren't (Twinsouls are not good vs big centerpieces, Slickblades are not the faster unit in AoS, Slaangors are not monstrous blenders...). HoS battletome is not that bad, but the HoS marketing and hype campaign was a disaster. I can easily see the guy that was in charge being fired because they are hurting their own fanbase, maybe that is why there are new jobs available now. GW is a business after all. About the unsatisfying design of certain battletomes. Yeah. Just look at DoK or the new Lumineth, they are full of "Oh cool i get that in addition" moments and feelings. Then you look at some of the Slaanesh things, and they are clearly design in a "Oh ******, i don't get that half of the time but is being considered in the point cost of the unit anyway" As an example, im sure Syl'Eskke in other armies would simply give RR1s all the time, and this would be increased to rerolling everything when the same number of Daemons and Mortals are nearby. Slaangors would probably deal the mortal wounds on the charge, and maybe in a 2+, or if they keep the 4+ then it would be D3 MWs instead to justify all the other crapiness of the warscroll. But even more simple and obvious, in other armies Twinsouls would be able to freely choose stances every turn instead of having to alternate.
  21. I still think lists based in Exalted Seekers spam and Glutos will do well (not top tier, but well). The sad part is the rest of the army heavily underperforming. Massive discounts needed for any other unit to be viable. The only thing that make you play other types of troops is the fact that Exalted Seekers aren't battleline, and still your best bet is to go 3x Chaos Warriors to have cheap object grabing battleline. Daemons are deceiving because they are good for their summoning points (DP fairly costed), but really bad for their regular points (built in-list terrible costed), so you still see them in games but is non-representative of them being balanced. They way overstimated the value of summoning. Getting everything fairly costed is not going to be an easy task tho, but i can see almost every unit going down 20pts to begin with.
  22. Well, as Enoby said before, the cool thing about Hedonites is that every type of excess can be a whole subculture/army theme. I been trying to submit to Black Library my own Slaanesh cult for two consecutive years now (both times rejected, and i admit im really bad writing in english as they demand to do). But my take may be something akin to what you are looking for, as is based around a warband that developed a philosophy toward excess of love and freedom. They are literally white knights that fight for the right of everyone to do the more twisted and unsettlings things to others, as long as it is based in a consensual form of love. They fight for YOUR right to be ensalved and tortured even if you live in a society that utterly despise torture and enslavement. But they kinda fight too for YOUR right to choose between being the torturer or the tortured (or both). So is more about fighting for freedom in a world full of undeveloped medieval societies. As an example of this we got my original Keeper of Secrets Qatieta just to mention one character. She is a greater daemon born from the guilty desire of Slaanesh into feeling excessive forms of submision and pampering, contrary to almost every other Keeper of Secrets she is somewhat naive and soft, and is literally the pet of the warband. Other Daemons mock her and other mortals want to use her as the manipulable obedient weapon of mass destruction that she is. But within her warband the Viscions have sworn to fight for her right to be a pet and stay out of the combat fields. And most of my first project of novel revolves around this group trying to scape a bigger army of Slaanesh Invaders that want to capture her. There is a lot more to it, but you get the idea. As a person that is multigender in the real world and that deal with BDSM (wich is much more than a sexual theme by the way, it got a lot to do with the way persons share their feeling, lust being only a small part and love being a way bigger part) i think that the way freedom of choice works in Slaanesh is one of the more sympathetic aspects of the faction. Of course, you got the part in wich someone overextends his freedom to the point of negating yours, and to prevent that is for what my Viscions fight for, but that happen in almost every other society, cannot really say is simply a Slaanesh thing. In other places they maybe overextend the freedom of taxing you until you starve, while in slaanesh they literally overextend the freedom of tasting delicacies to the point of eating you (Glutos style). But what about the freedom of wanting to be eat? The morality implications of really knowing that you want that agaisnt the suspicion of being tricked into thinking such thing? My plan was to write heavy themes about introspective emotions, philosophical development, psyichological advice. The more important character of my project is probably the spiritual guide of the cult, the philosophist Ciereva. A consumated slave-warrior that really is a slave by choice, nor too strong but considered to be wise by others (in a humble way), and how talking with her help others to better understand themselves (she didn't created the Viscions at purpose, they simply started listening to her and formed a society around what she casually speaks). She have done some crazy things tho, like creating a metal armor and mask and then permanently melting them to her body as a way to sculpt her own aspect, a practice that many Viscions copied later. She was born a male but resculpted her figure as a female and changed her gender identity (thus being some kind of trans person). And that is kind of her message "You can be whathever you want, you can love whoever you want and in whathever the way you like more, such is the bless of worshiping Slaanesh. And the day our missing God come to us he may pass from even loooking at what we have done being mere ants at his glorious feet. But maybe he glance to us, and maybe he hate us so much he crush our very existence. Or maybe he find our existence so precious that dosn't dare to eliminate such an intricate form of excess we developed. He-she wants to feel everything after all, and if she really crush this form of feeling he may then regret it every single day of his remaining existence for all eternity." Well, Ciereva usually talks in that way of not knowing the answer to something but giving you the tools to work within yourself and tailor your own answer, she dosn't tell you what you are, but help you discover what you want to be. Maybe some day GW allow me to build her into official lore.
  23. If that is the case, they should have waited for a General's Handbook to do the edition jump, just to balance the points of every army in the same way at the same time. Otherwise it just leads to pain, confusion, unfairness and rage. A bad move from GW when the answer about how to do it well was just right there in their summer annual release.
  24. Well, if that is the case, you can roll whathever number of wounds he have remaining, like first roll 5, lets say he ignores 2, then roll 2, if he ignores 1, then roll 1 again until all wounds are done or he die. Is not as slow as doing the wounds 1 by 1 all the time.
  25. Does anyone know what happen when a Lord of Pain is asigned a number of wounds capable of killing him? Do you got to roll them 1 by 1 because he can only bounce wounds as long as he is alive?
