So If I have 10 spider riders, you can take one of each, correct? Or do you have to choose one or the other, until you buy 20.

You are correct, you can take both with 10. Like any musician and standard bearer in other unit.

So to piggy back off this. Since all attacks are made simultaneously this applies to saves that do damage back to you. So if you wipe out a great unclean one with the mortal wound bounce all your attacks are susceptible to be bounced back to you even if he is dead.

The Great Unclean One is a after save when you allocate wound to him. Since you allocate wound one at a time and you stop when the model die, they cant keep bouncing back when he is dead. Right ?

Saw a few postings in a FB group today about banners and drums in Spider Rider units. One poster said that you can only have a Totem Bearer and a Drummer if you have 10 models in the unit. The other poster said that the way rule reads "1 in every 10 models in this unit can be a Bone Drummer." and "1 in every 10 models in this unit can be a Spider Totem Bearer." means that if you have 10 or less models in the unit, you can have 1 Totem Barer and 1 Bone Drummer; if you have 11 - 20 models, you can have two of each, if you have 21 - 30, you can have 3, etc.

Both were right that the FAQ doesn't address this at all. Is there an official ruling on interpreting that rule?

You need 10 for 1 or 20 for 2, drummers and totems, because of the FAQ (Khorne Battletome).  So the first guy was right.

30 hearthguard berzerkers would laugh at a charging pack of 30 witch elves.  Even with RR all hits and all wounds, 120 witch aelf attacks MIGHT take out 7 mediocrely buffed hearthguard berzerkers. Just wait until people can buy, build and paint them.

Edit: Lets just say all 120 attacks hit and wound. Thats still only only 10 dead hearthguard. Who are probably immune to battleshock.

Why compare 300 pts unit to a 600 pts unit.

@SaodexanNice! Seems like a fun way to play! Wouldn't this list be completely shut down by an army with lost of unbind potential, like Nagash?

Nagash do not have 10 (11 with cogs ) unbind. Even the skull judgement from Khorne do not counter it since you are spread out and can just skitterleap or move away from it so easily. The Vortex is still the key of this list, this is why the DoK list at the GT have Knight Incantor, to auto unbind it. Some alpha strike with low drop can really hurt this build too. Otherwise this list is a blast to play, every game is different.

Did you guys see this list for South Coast GT? Skaven in third place, after double DoK.
Someone disagrees with your stance on clanrats @Gwendar :)
I have no idea how this list was played though.

    Tom Mawdsley

    • Skaventide
    • Verminlord Warpseer (General, Master of Magic),
    • Verminlord Corruptor (Sword of Judgement),
    • Verminlord Deceiver,
    • Lord Skreech Verminking,
    • Grey Seer (Skitterleap),
    • 3 x 20 Clanrats
    • Aethervoid Pendulum, Geminids of Uhl-Gysh, Soulsnare Shackles, Umbral Spellportal, Vermintide, Warp Lightning Vortex, Chronomantic Cogs, Prismatic Palisade

It's nearly the same list he used 2 month ago in another tournament. You spam endless spell to block movement, to block objective, to block charge, and scurry away your Verminlord to kite the ennemy. With the 2 skitterleap + 3 Gnawhole  you can be everywhere and harass the ennemy.  Verminlord have amazing mobility, even without skitterleap, you can move 12'', charge something, then scurry away for another 12''+1d6. All depends on pts costs. Also, the skaven terrain and endless spells are magnitudes more powerful than what we got. I'm not going to freak out or anything until I see the book in its entirety but I am certainly going from super excited to super nervous now. Like my exalted keeper just went down over 60% in offensive threat. Many of these nerfs aren't trivial. It is going to take a lot to offset them.

True, but the allegence ability are magnitude more powerful than what they got. Attack first and exploding 6 on the Keeper are huge, totally want to see a big list of KoS.  Even a block of Deamonette attacking first will be better than anything they were before.

Anyone else feeling less optimistic all of a sudden but hoping once more pts values leak that maybe a bunch of stuff went down in cost?

I feel it's like the Skaven Battletome all over again, peoples was crying because they nerfed nearly every warscroll except heros. And now Skaven never been better. Don't underestimate having allegence, spell lore, command trait/ability, artefact, terran, endless spell. I think from what I see, Slaanesh gonna be more than fine.

  9. So another hard hitting, ultra fast, self healing, always fight first and pile in twice super monster into the game.  I guess at least they make monster more usable now. Even if it cost 350-400 pts do you think we will see list like FEC with 3-4 KoS ?

@gronnelg According to Azyr, Clawlord on BH is 160 and the regular BH is 160 as well

I'm pretty sure you can see it's a mistake. Azyr app still have the deceiver with 5 attack instead of 6. Personnally, i will trust warscroll builder over them for the cost of the clawlord on brood horror.

Even in the event it would do that which I doubt. they can pick a different unit to attack last.

Attack last happen in a different sub phase. Don't forget the combat phase have 3 sub phase, Start, During, End. Attack Last happen in the end, nobody can attack after someone affected by the locust. You can read about it here https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/03/21/who-fights-first/ .

Anyway, doppleganger cloak will still work very well.

They asked about the 6in pile was a at to force opponent to lose an sctivation the answer was no. So it would mean he gets to activate but not before you.

They don't lose the activation, they can still activate and pile in but can't target the doppleganger cloak hero with melee weapons. So it work really well against locus of diversion.

I haven't done a deep dive on the rules yet, but is there any reason you're using a corruptor for character sniping rather than a deceiver? the bonus chance at great plagues is a pretty good bonus I get, but just wanted insight on your mileage.

Sword of Judgement on the Corruptor is like 14 mortal wounds on average with the command ability.

Hey guys, been playing tons of AoS this easter, lot's of 2v2, some 1v1. Anyway! We stumbled upon something when facing Tzeentch.
The opponent had Curseling, Eye of Tzeentch. I casted Warp Lightning Vortex, and Curseling managed to dispell it.

It states in the Curseling warscroll:

"Each time a Curseling successfully unbinds an enemy spell, he can immediately attempt to cast it himself even though it is your opponent’s hero phase. If this spell is cast, your opponent cannot attempt to unbind it."

But, on the Warp Lightning Vortex warscroll it states:

"Summon Warp Lightning Vortex has a casting value of 8. Only Skaventide Wizards can attempt to cast this spell."

So the question is, would the Curseling be able to cast the Vortex?

The more experienced player on my team meant that we would not be able to cast it, cause it's stated as Skaventide Wizards only.

I think the Malign Sorcery FAQ answer it.
Q: Some abilities allow a model to know additional spells, including additional endless spells. In a Pitched Battle, can you use these abilities to cast endless spells if you did not spend the points for those endless spells? In addition, can these abilities be used to cast endless spells that can normally only be cast by Wizards that have a specific keyword?
    A: No to both questions.

If the Curseling do not have the points, the models or the keyword to cast the endless spell, he just can't.

Question: When you over-charge ratling gun you "double the Attacks characteristic for that attack" but if "the roll that determines the Attacks characteristic is a double, this model is slain..." So are we:

    1. rolling 2d6 and doubling the result (rolling doubles kills the model after attacks are resolved)

    2. rolling two 2d6 (rolling doubles for either result kills the model after attacks are resolved)

    3. rolling 4d6 (If any two dice are doubles the model is slain after attacks are resolved)

The first one is correct. It's on the Skaven Battletome FAQ
Q: I found the ‘More-more Warplead!’ rule for the Ratling Gun rather confusing. Can you explain in layman’s terms how it works?
A: Certainly. Normally when you fire a Ratling Gun it makes 2D6 attacks. The ‘More-more Warplead!’ rule allows you to double the number of attacks, as long as you say you wish to do so before the dice roll is made. However, if you say that you will double the number of attacks and the dice roll is a double (e.g. two 1s, two 2s, etc.), then after all of the attacks have been made and you have inflicted any damage that they caused, the attacking model is slain.

    Hi guis,

if i use more more war power on Jezzail i can reroll failed to hit 2 times?

In the core rule book  section re-roll " You can never re-roll a dice more than once ". So no you can't.

So, I don't normally give hobby updates but I figured I would show off my (done aside from basing) Bombardier and 1 of the 9 Jezzails I'm repainting to match my desaturation color scheme. Also, I'm currently working on new "Grenadier Acolytes" to replace my older Acolytes. Definitely don't look the same, but hopefully any major tourneys will let them pass for creativity? Saw the idea for them on FB so I had to try it out myself.

Still unsure if I want to attach backpacks or hoses to them.. or a bandoleer of orbs?
