I have heard June as a date for our new battle tome.
Where?
So long... At least I can catch up with painting

I don't have Khinerai with magnets so far. But I feel confident that nothing breaks while transporting, at least not more than with foam when they get all stuck in it.
If it's just an up and down when driving normally and not intense vibrations it should hold.

...(my biggest problem using them is identifying my branchnymphs)
I glued the extra spites that come with our boxes (and bugs from Treelord) to the Nymph. It looks like the Nymph now has a little group following her. That makes her stand out as the leader, visually and thematically.

What are people using to transport their army? I’m planning to have a bunch of witch aelves, khinerai and cauldrons. My current foam solution seems a bit iffy for this. Is anyone using a magnetized solution, and if so, are you placing magnets on the bases of every model or using a magnetized tray and some steel washers on every base?
I have a little magnet underneath every base, for larger models I have a bigger magnet or multiple.
I put a metal sheet on the bottom of the box and it's perfectly fine. All my friends copied my build.
You can also put thin foam on the side of the box in case you are driving rough to prevent the models hitting the box. Usually they don't slide around tho. Gotta go 200 kph on the autobahn and suddenly break for that

Would you not run any battalion then?
If you would take Lifetakers anyway you can run it. If not, you can take 10 Witch Elves with Bucklers for screening by saving the 100 points on the battalion. And use the at least 160 points from Lifetakers for independent units of Heartrender or get 5 Blood sisters.
It's better me thinks. Unless you want less drops.
But I am pretty new to DoK myself tho

What do people think about the battalions? Such as Cauldron Guard? I like the idea of battalions but the small unit selection within them seems to force you to take large squads of the same models to use in bigger points games. Eg cauldron guard needs 60 witches and 20 khinerai to fill in points, which prevents me from taking bits of this and that.
I come from the Horus Heresy where we have Rites of War that offer thematic army benefits, but restrict list building (eg. the Night Lords can make their terror squads count as battleline and get some bonuses to cover saves, but they can only take a single heavy unit if they select that rite.) This allows for more flexibility to buy/paint what I want to get 2000 points. AoS battalions seem to pigeon hole me harder into only picking a few units instead, which seems painful if rules/points update annually and also from the perspective of painting the same things and running a samey looking force.
I tried Cauldron Guard yesterday. The Buff the units get doesn't warrant the high cost in my opinion. Also it forces you to take Lifetakers, which apart from the possible objective grapping don't bring anything to the table. Lifetakers have no damage nor the staying power...
I am not convinced.

You are allowed to paint them...
That means they would be colored plastic models ;D

As you just talked about our woods and the room on tables, I had a question come to my mind.
When placing a wyldwood it has to keep distance to other terrain and also needs to be within one inch of itself (when placing 2 to 3 bases). Does this mean when I place a wood of 3 bases that each must be within one inch to both others or can I draw a line?

Anyone else thinks Kurnoth Hunters with Bows may gain value in regard to the new Khorne Codex?
Imo it's important to cause a few wounds to Bloodthirster before he can whack you with flat six damage

(1) Draw a line between the closest points of A´s and D´s bases. This can be a bit tricky, a line laser can help a lot here.
(2) Check if the line pases at least 1" through a Wyldwood. If it does, A is not allowed to target D. If it does not, your friend can shoot freely.
(3) If A or D or both have the Flying ability (just picture a flying Dryad for a moment 😅), ignore (1) and (2) - both models can see each other freely.
Is it unit to unit or do I test point 1 model to model?
Always thought it's per model

Disappointed you weren't featured, do you have a quick copy paste of your list? Are you going to do a run down of your match against IDK last round?
Yes pls. I am also interested in the IDK match

Has anyone changed Gorgais up to differentiate them from among themselves? If yes how?
Because I want the option to play 2 squads of 5 or 1 squad of 10. This means I need 2 Gorgais, but they need to be distinct in a squad of 10 to declare one to be the 'true' Gorgai.

Currently building my two army boxes.
But I am unsure how to build the Melusai. The 2 boxes have the option for both. Now my question is: should I build 10 Sisters or 5 Sisters and 5 Stalkers.
My thoughts are
10 Sisters are better on the table than 5, especially when I don't have more than one squad.
Stalkers seem to be too expensive for their abilitys, according to the post in this topic. But I like the models as well.
So...options are
1. 10 Sisters right now (and add a squad of Stalkers at a later point of time)
2. 5 Sisters and 5 Stalkers
Do we need shooting? Is it worth in general outside of SCE?

Going against Deepkin this weekend.
Any tips? I especially fear the 3rd round where they can always attack first.

Today I got my second box 'Devoted of Morathi'
Online it's sold out already in my country.

What about piling in?
It's no attack move or run move. Does not trigger

The German translation is pretty clear that it only triggers on run and charge moves that cross or end in the wyldwood. Normal moves won't trigger

@j0lt just remember don't hold back on Battleforces they are limited production runs and Seraphon has already sold out as have several of the 40K ones. DoK one is a great kit and gives you a really solid core to start and expand with.
Hello new Player here.
Started Daughters and Sylvaneth.
Secured myself a Box and ordered now a second one. The deal is too good to not take advantage. As I noticed there is a need to get everything in this specific box two times minimum anyway.
If I am not mistaken two Boxes can give ~1890 Points of models.
The way I did it.
1 Cauldron of Blood (magnetized Hag and Slaughter Queen)
1 Bloodwrack Shrine
1 Medusa
1 Hag Queen AND Slaughter Queen
1 Hag OR Slaughter Queen (depends on the Cauldron variation as shown above
20 Wych Aelfs/SoS
10 Blood Stalkers/Sisters
1 Avatar of Khaine
10 Lifetakers
10 Heartrenders
A solid buy and work for months
Sorry for the long first post
