We're talking about Warcry here. Skaven, Slaanesh and Fyreslayers don't even have rules for Warcy yet.

From the existing Warcry warbands, I'd rank Gloomspite Gitz very near if not top tier.

    Oops sorry! Misread the heading.

who do you thin is a top tier?

There are lots of different opinions and several threads on this forum about it. Broadly speaking I dont think too many people would argue with DOK, FEC, Skaven, Slaneesh, Fyreslayers are the top factions.

Scoins of the Storm counts as normal reserve, in the latest core rule, reserve unit arriving battlefield does not count as normal move. In the last version, this thing does count as a normal move, so probably that's why the GW manage tell you so. In the latest version, in the latest version, it no longer counts as a move.

Its on page 2 of the core rules designers commentary notes.

  4. Hope noone minds this post but I know we all like battle reports. I played 1,500pts of Skaven v Stormcast the other day and instead of writing it up my buddy filmed it for his new youtube channel. He is just learning how to do this properly so the camera work is a learning curve but we had a blast playing and the Horned Rat smiled on the result (despite a couple of rule errors on either side!) Check it out if you have some time.

My reasons for taking the Clawlord are as follows:

    - I have the Skryre General model, and I think it's cool af.
    - He buffs the Clanrats.
    - I have 100 points left over otherwise.

I could swap him for another Warlock, to get even more spells going on (that would net me six total). If I take out the Clawlord and the Gravetide I have 120 points to play with- it's immaterial at this point as I have submitted the list, but I could play around with Endless Spells... I wonder how much a Balewind Vortex would help this army?

If you have 120pts knocking around you could add 10 stormvermin?

  6. Hi

I'm playing with the idea of putting together a small dispossessed force for some 500pt skirmishing/ME.

I would be interested in the following if anyone has some spare.

    Hammerers

    Ironbreakers

    Irondrakes

    Longbeards

Preferably on sprue but would also be interested in unpainted and built.

sounds like a nice mix. what about forgeworlds wolf rats, they seem like a good pick? if you would've made a 2k list with moulder, how would you progress from that 1k list?

You would have to add a third battleline and should max out the giant rat units at 40 for 200pts. After that it depends on how you want to play. You could add a warpseer, hellpit and another master moulder or 6x stormfiends + wolf rats.

I confess I havnt used wolfrats, stats wise they do look good but the models are expensive at £35 for 5.

The best thing about skaven is that there are lots of playable options and you can mix and match as you like.

    Hello!

Im very interested in making a 1k points list with Clan Moulder.

Can someone give me an input on them, what is good and what is not?

and if you have the time giving me a list that i can work from :)

i see potential in them, i hope you do too!

I'd be tempted to go with:

    1 master moulder -100

    Packmasters - 60

    Giant rats x20 - 120

    Giant rats x20 - 120

    Rat ogresx6 - 300

    Rat ogres x6 - 300

    1000 even.

If the ogres get into combat they are vicious ( 6 will be pumping out 24 attacks on 4(3s when whipped), 3 to wound, -1, 2 damage. They do need to be whipped to boost bravery and screened by the rats.

Or cut some rat ogres and add a hellpit and more pack masters.

  9. I have been using the screaming bell at 1,500pts and the battleshock immunity alone has been a huge benefit. It soaks up wounds and the peal of doom is great random fun (i havnt rolled a free verminlord yet but i have got the -1 to enemy hit rolls lots and it is a very nice effect.

  10. A question for everyone.

I played a couple of games today and in the second v Khorne I jumped my 6 Jezzails through a gnawhole to get an angle to shoot my opponents skullcrushers. The gnawhole warscroll says that counts as a move but is it a move for the purposes of the Jezzail's rerolling hit bonus?

We couldnt find anything to say either way and ended up playing it like stormcast deepstriking (counts as a move but doesnt stop you getting the bonus for not moving). I am pretty sure I have seen something that said this but cant remember where.

  11. The Stormfiends conversation is really interesting as I am trying out 6 in a 1,500 list tomorrow for games v stormcast and khorne.

    Arch-warlock
    -Gryph feather charm
    -Deranged inventor
    -More, more, more warp power

    Grey seer on screaming bell
    -death frenzy

    40 clan rats (spears)
    20 clan rats (blades)
6 x stormfiends (windlaunchers, ratling guns, doomflayers)
    6 x Jezzails

Hoping to delete 2 enemy units a turn and play havoc with their plans.
  12. Hi all

A friend of mine has recently set up an AOS youtube channel to show batreps, painting guides and reviews. He is looking to build his following and I wonder if there is anything specific you would like to see more of or things/armies that the big channels dont often cover that could be a niche for him.

The channel is called log cabin gaming (because it is based in an amazing log cabin we built in his garden, complete with bar and working beer pumps!) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3KFOcLIUQ07AXdpLNpV2LQ

    Any feedback welcome.

  13. I dislike the double turn. Even when I get it and stomp my opponent it seems a hollow victory because they just watched while I played. As many others have said you can prepare for it, field endless spells, chaff etc and it doesnt break the game.

The real awfulness though is when it combines with fighting first abilities. That makes the game even less interactive as the defending player watches a portion of his army get wrecked, rolls 1 dice and then watches the rest get wrecked without response or opportunity to do anything except attack back with mostly depleted units.

No, I meant 1 Wizard can only cast 1 endless spell per turn. You can cast them from different wizards, I was just saying with only 1 Skitterleap you would have to make that choice as the Sun and WLV both have very short ranges.

    Of course, you're right!

  16. 21 minutes ago, Gwendar said:

Eh.. if you're going to Skitterleap something to get a spell off, you'd be better off doing WLV since you can't cast 2 Endless Spells

@GwendarYou can only cast 1 endless spell? I know you cant try to cast the same one but why cant i use a grey seer to skitterleap an archwarlock (or another seer) and cast WLV and purple sun? I def agree the WLV is the best but I was just trying to see if anyone had been sneaky and trapped opponents in a WLV box with a Purple Sun.

  17. Has anyone tried the new low cost Purple Sun? I was wondering if a skitterleap to the backline, casting it into the heart of the enemy front line and a retreat through a gnawhole might cause a decent amount of chaos for 50pts.

I don’t want to cover of my army book to be humans and Stormcast

Even if the content lets you play the exact army you want with full support in rules and abilities,? What if dwarfs get back cannons and new units and a new runelaw and other stuff? Would you pay a price of a front cover then?

Is the situation perfect? No. Do GW mess things up sometimes? A big yes. But and this is crucial, I think GW should get to release more than a front cover before the sowing of this much salt starts.

I have to say, this was a very disappointing Open Day.

Both the Battletomes are neat (especially now that Orruks will have more than 3 units, and the Free Peoples won't be split into 40 two model factions.)

But the reveals otherwise we're next to nothing. The Ogre is cool, and I guess someone will want a Gortek mini, but really two models revealed at THE Open Day for one of your flagship games? Very underwhelming.

They could have at least shown off the two Warbands they showed silhouettes of. Yeah for Beastmen in Underworlds at least.

Many many people will want Gotrek and I predict he will be a hero for the sigmar cities tome. Mixed dwarf factions led by Gotrek as general anyone?

Re model reveals this was warcry's day and they didn't want to detract from that after months of hype. Even so two new battletomes, Ogres practically confirmed with one and a new faction coming. They may not have immediately shown lots of new models but they cant possibly release 4 books without some new models. Each of the existing 3 will get at least 1 hero and Ogres merged with BCR is instantly a new dimension. Hold tight!
