GUYS I got one - an actual RUMOUR!!!

    https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/2460/780018.page#top part way down

From someone in France relayed through Dakka: *translated with google apparently* Also they think Ombrelance is "shadow spear" or something like that.

    "Sister of battles:
The first box including the new army figures will be available between November 10 and 20 and the collector version will exist in French.
There will be no further news until February / March 2020.

    Necromunda:
New Necromunda box including a new band and with new rules.

    Battleforce Christmas:
There will be 10 different Battelforce.
    145 euros / piece
4 for AOS: Nighthaunt / Skaven / Stormcast / Goblins
6 for 40k: T'au, Drukhari, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Chaos, Tyranids

    Romans:
All Horus Heresy novels are back in Hard Cover Omnibus

    Accessories:
A box with 5 painting handles
A box with a handle under layer for under bed 50 figurines

    MS:
    Start collecting Vanguard

    Chaos:
    Start collecting Ombrelance"

Maybe the Skaven box might even have the bombardier in it.

I hope people dont get mas or nothing as it is only my opinion.

I am a economist(5 year career) so i know that i am speaking.

The future of gw is pretty bad due to things outside of the hobby.

    The monster is the brexxit.

Gw have done huge investment those last months\year to expand their factorys for the increase in production. So if they now they start to selling less product they gonna be in problems.

But with the brexxit they must get the prices a 18% up(taxes) to have the same income.

But with this increase they gonna sell less product and so the income gonna decrease and wont can sell the new extra product of the new factorys.

And the worse is that gw know it and they have been triying find fixes for this:

Get their production to china or polonia outside of the brexxit that failled

Also i read the tried get the factorys to spain but also failled.

Now lately with the marvel and bandai deals i have read some people speaking about gw triying selling the company to any big multinational company as bandai to try avoid the losses of the brexxit.

Only my idea after read articles and so

I would imagine if the pound fell because of brexit and uncertainty in the economy foreign sales in dollars and euros would be worth a lot more once repatriated into pounds. Overall sales in the UK might slow due to reduced consumer spending but that foreign income would  more than make up for it.

  3. Warclans is here andI think it has a real impact for the ratty hordes. They seem to put out so much damage and have so many movement buffs that even a 40xclan rat unit is going to be reduced down to tattered rags in one round of combat. (And their movement bonuses are going to make it much harder to just put 1 or 2 clan rats in combat range to tie them up.)

I watched a miniwargame batrep last night big waaaagh v beasts of chaos and it was barely a game (however weak that army is).

I think this will fuel more lists with 20rat units as speed bumps or even giant rats to screen. Anything that slows the waaaagh so we cab shoot it apart or blast it with sorcery.

Interestingly they have a movement bonus that kicks in when hurt so WLV could be dangerous to use. If it goes off twice units caught could move 2d6 towards you!

    Opinions?

Maybe im blind or my maths are wrong but.......

A fast glimpse to the sorceress in black dragon(300) vs any verminlord(220-280) and ........she is expensiver, worse melle damage, only one spell vs two of verminlord,a save of 5 vs a save of 4 with other special save of 5 and any also have a reroll saves.

Maybe im wrong but isnt she as 100% worse in all than a verminlord and more expensive?

The cheapest verminlord is 280 points and they go to 320. The Dragon actually has better melee than most of the verminlords if you math out the damage. It flies and can move further. On the flip side the verminlord saves are much better, so is their magic and most Command abilities.

Verminlords are definetely better but as a group not by a stupid amount. (Warpseer at 300pts is massively better though)

  5. Idea for a tempest eye list. Comes in just under 2000 with the new points (new artifacts, command traits unknown atm).

    Allegiance: Tempest's Eye

    Leaders
    Warden King (100)
    Runelord (80)
Celestial Hurricanum With Celestial Battlemage (380)

    Battleline

    Units
    20 x Hammerers (280)
    20 x Hammerers (280)
    30 x Irondrakes (540)
    10 x Freeguild Pistoliers (240)
    10 x Freeguild Pistoliers (240)

    total: 2140 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 131

The pistoliers provide a screen for the duardin to walk up behind. Buffed irondrakes provide heavy shooting. Huricanum buffs and shoots. Hammerers hold the objectives and counter charge anything that gets through.

"They shall be my finest warriors, these rats who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war I shall forge them. They shall be of iron will and steely sinew. In dirty rags I shall clad them and with the crudest weapons shall they be armed. They will be touched by plague and disease; sickness shall blight them. They shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the storm-things. They are the Defenders of the Skaven Empire. They are my Clan Rats...and they shall know no fear."

    - The Horned Rat

You could of course just kill the heroes so they cant use a CP.

It also fits the lore quite well. Clan rats are much less scared of the 8ft tall stormcast or blood soaked khorne berserkers than the 25ft tall physical embodiment of their god stalking across the battlefield.

I bet dwarfs would run into battle a bit faster if Grungi or Grimnir was waving them on.

So it was true no new miniature, spell or faction terrain but seems they compensated with lots of lore in both books and two unexpected Start Collecting. Excited to see the changes to the warscrolls!!!

Maybe. They will spend all week doing previews so there may very well be a new model or two coming.

Ok, so since this discussion on Gotrek's avatar, this is how we see it:

"If the damage inflicted by an attack, spell or ability that targets or affects this model is greater than 1, change it to 1."

So what we're talking here is singular actions that inflict damage of more than 1 MW. However some abilities contain multiple actions such as attacks. In that case we treat that ability not as singular at all; we treat it as number of actions generating a number of attacks.

For example, the ratling gun gimbal limiter. Releasing the gimbal limiter has nothing to do with the unit or units being targeted. Indeed you can split the number of attacks (double 2xd6) across Gotrek and the unit he is next to if you wish and there's nothing Gotrek can do about it. Its the number of attacks generated that takes precedent, and each does 1MW.

Another example is the WLC: its attacks characteristic is classed as "see ability" for a perfectly good reason as you couldn't fit the rules for that attack into such a tiny space. But to summarise you are rolling 6 dice representing 6 attacks. Each successful attack inflicts 1 MW per dice that meets the power generated (or 12 dice if you go for more warp power).

We're sticking with that rule as it is written, unless anyone can come back saying we're wrong and they work for GW 😁

I agree with the ratling gun because that is a role for number of attacks but not the WLC. Its warscroll specifically says you roll for the power of the attack (singular) and then the 6 dice for mws. Those 6 dice arnt new or seperate attacks and its more like a single attack that does d6 damage.

I'd say we will need an FAQ from GW to be sure either way though. Why they cant write a rule clearly I dont know.

So last night we proxied Gotrek against Skaventide and we didn't use T&B as in the WHCommunity article, but instead rattling guns, stormfiends and Warplightning cannon as the mainstay for a 1000 pt game. The unit of liberators we opted for in the Stormcast/Gotrek force, did a job of shielding Gotrek for a turn but were pasted by the WLC and wind launcher in turn 1. After a double turn from the pesky rats, the rattling guns and stormfiends both unloaded (and ungimbled) on Gotrek causing 6 wounds from around 45 shots. Gotrek pasted the stormfiends that turn but was just a duardin smear after turn 3 when the WLC inflicted another 2 wounds.

So, yeah, he can be killed, like anything in this game can. Just need a little luck and a Gotrek blasting army to do it!

(Losses to Skaventide vs Gotrek were 1 unit of stormfiends, and 1 WLC after using more-more warp power twice)

How did the WLC do 2 wounds to Gotrek in one turn? Avatar of Grimnir means the WLC attack (which is an ability) can only do 1 damage per turn.

  10. New article up on the community page about the bonereapers but at the end it says;

You’ll be able to order the first of the Ossiarch Bonereapers from October – Nagash waited for an aeon to unleash his creations, but you only have to wait a couple of months. Can’t wait for more goodness from the Mortal Realms? Don’t fret – before these guys arrive, both Order and Destruction aficionados will have a chance to bolster their defences with new battletomes coming in the next few weeks.

    I don't think it is.

Ward save for non-heroes or monsters at 66% chance is very good, as is the spell resistance, damage output is very good. BUT he has only 4" speed, and for monsters and heroes, his save is only 5+.

He probably falls in one round to a General on Griffin (with his own inspire ability and charging, the general deals an average of 3.125 damage with his lance, 3.9 damage with its beak, and 3.3 damage with its claws to this version of Gotrek. Probably still around 4-5 damage without command ability and charge), if that general decides to engage him (I don't know heroes very well, others might also work as well as this one).

Wording is bad though. Reading it logically, you would come to this conclusion:

If wound inflicted AND NOT hero or monster melee: 3+ ward save.

If wound inflicted AND hero or monster with ranged: 3+ ward save.

If wound inflicted AND hero or monster melee: no ward save.

If wound inflicted AND NOT hero or monster with ranged: no ward save.

Have you factored that each successful attack against him can only do 1 damage?

Pretty pleased with these boys, managed to smash through 40 of them with relative ease ready for battle along with their movement trays!

I've got 80 Stormvermin that are fully painted just need basing and then their movement trays need doing also, slowly starting to feel like i'm going to actually finish this list!

    Still need to paint:
    -Verminlord Warbringer (based/zenithal primed)
-Grey Seer on screaming bell (zenithal primed/coated with contrast grey ready for details)

I'm waiting for my delivery of masking putty from greenstuffworld (been waiting for about a month!! anyone else had stuff delivered from them? does it usually take this long?) before I do the screaming bell/warbringer due to some fiddly bits I don't want to overspray onto where masking tape/tissue just won't do the job.

    clanrats4.jpg

I have found that white tack works quite well to mask fiddly areas.

  13. With the new Gotrek model up for preorder on Saturday what do you think his warscroll will look like?

If they incorporate the lore he will have to be practically indestructable and have multiple attacks that can kill almost anything.

    8 wounds, 3+ save (and a 5+ supersave)

    5at, 3+, 3+, -2, 3 damage?

    Answers on a postcard...

It was pretty major.  Order Draconis, Eldritch Council, Swifthawk Agents (except shadow warriors), Lion Rangers, Glade Guard, all but 1 wanderer hero, plus a bunch of Free Peoples and Disspossesed.

Pretty much lost 30+ models and A LOT of warscrolls.

Am I right in thinking that they said these units are still ok for now as they have points in the GH but will drop out next time? If so they can still be played for 10/11months. That's a decent lead time of notice no?

What about Stormvermin buffed with Gnash-Gnaw and Tyrants of Battle from the Warbringer?

I dont think theres a doubt they are brutal on the attack but from what people have said (I havnt used them personally) they die too quickly for their points cost. They seem to only be really worth taking in units of 40 for450pts but you start losing buffs quickly.

Its a different role to clan rats where you only need to care that there are enough to claim the objective.

Partially sell? Does that imply you have a store of skaven goodies that might appear on another day?

Since allies don't count when calculating battlelines then I should be able to ally other skaventide units in a pestilens army. This whole rule of "all units must be pestilens" don't apply to the allied units and scroll builder shows this as well.

The question then is whether or not they get to benefit from the skaventide allegiance. Say I ally some ratling guns and a warlock engineer, will they get the skryre warp sparks? They have the correct keyword so really it should not be a problem, right?

Sadly no. Skaven cant ally in other skaven units. The only keyword they can ally with is nurgle.

If you add the ratling gun and warlock you will need clanrats for battleline.

Hi guys, looking for a little help with my 2k moulder list. This is what I have so far:

      Hide contents

    Allegiance: Skaventide
    Thanquol on Boneripper (400)
    - General
    - Lore of Ruin: Death Frenzy
    Master Moulder (100)
    - Artefact: Rabid Crown
    2 x Rat Ogors (100)
    2 x Rat Ogors (100)
    2 x Rat Ogors (100)
    40 x Giant Rats (200)
    3 x Packmasters (60)
    3 x Packmasters (60)
    10 x Wolf Rats (200)
    3 x Stormfiends (260)
    Hell Pit Abomination (240)
    Fleshmeld Menagerie (160)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 144

    Possible considerations are:

    1. Dropping  5 Wolf Rats, 2 rat ogres and 3 packmasters  (260pts) for another 3 stormfiends
    2. Dropping Thanquol and 3 packmasters (460pts) for Screaming Bell and another 3 stormfiends
    3. Dropping 5 Wolf Rats (100pts) and taking 2 more rat ogres and having 2 units of 4

    Thoughts?

P.S. I don’t own any endless spells or verminlords. I have another master moulder, 2 rat ogres, 3 stormfiends and 3 packmasters 😃

I think that will struggle. Only the giant rats are a big enough unit to hold objectives and much of the rest lacks a punch. Unbuffed Stormfiends are not worth taking in 3s and rat ogres dont do much in 2s. With Thanquol as your general you cant take a command trait.

I would drop the stormfiends and a pack master for 320pts and use that to boost your rat ogre units so you have 2 units of 6. Use the spare points to give Thanquol the vermintide spell to cast.
