  1. I don't know... Depends on how large of a release is planned and how much it affects the current AoS lore. GW has reached saturation point with Stormcast, to the point where new units are essentially duplicates of older, obsolete units. And their golem-like design has limited the modeler's creative space, there's only so many stoic knights you can make. Essentially their poster children are getting stale, and they never reached the fanatical following that Space Marines received (I blame it on the emotionless helmets ) . A new Mortals of Sigmar line would allow an entire line refresh and a new creative avenue for the sculptors and designers. IF they are portrayed as integral allies to the stormcast, (replacing ranks within stormcast armies cut off from the Anvil), they could spin off another giant army release that would keep going for years. Also, deep down I think most people like the "heroes" to be human. For all their armor, space marines look and feel human. Sure they're genetically enhanced, but basically are just bigger, stronger humans, which fits every boy's idea of a hero/superhero. That makes them relatable. Stormcast are not. Their angelic reincarnation in the lore makes them feel like outsiders, and unrelatable to real people (i.e. the actual players). A relaunch of "Sigmar allied Humans" would fit the bill of both a heroic host helping Sigmar on his crusade to save the mortal realms AND give the actual players a faction they can more easily relate to (Downtrodden humans rising up to fight the Oppressor's). Everyone likes that type of underdog fight. Whenever they decide to release it, the "Humans of Sigmar" faction is going to be huge AND popular. Just you watch, I'll lay this prediction now, that in 5 years time stormcast will be a dusty third tier army with few updates and Humans of Sigmar will reign supreme!
  2. I wish they'd give us an update. The previous one, was in what? April? May? And they stated they would show us the development process, buts its been quiet since then. My guess? Mortal humans will be the New Army Launch for AOS 4th edition in 2024.
  3. My slaves of darkness miniatures double as a hellknight faction in my tabletop D&D games. They've made a great opposition faction in my games over the years, and the models always look great on the table, especially the mounted knights.
  4. I bought that warband last year for my soulblight army I held off on Annika and Kriza hoping we'd seen them in a cursed city expansion. Oh well
  5. I probably missed the initial conversation, but I'm happy to see a Cursed City announcement pop up finally. Sad that it doesnt include any models. I guess that's good for anyone who already purchased the mocels for thier soulblight army, but less so for those who haven't. Shelling out $100 for 3 individual hero blisters AND $XX for the expansion itself is less fun. I was hoping we'd see a package deal discount. Oh well. On the bright side, looks like the game will get some support in time for Halloween.
  6. So none of actually know what KingBrodd looks like in real life. It would be hilarious if there was some actual resemblance between the Mega-gargant facial features and KingBrodds! I'm fairly certain the eyepatch and tusks are out, but the nose, chin and eyebrows are fair game 😁 In unrelated news, now that Nova is behind us, are there any other potential online reveals between now and Christmas?
  7. DO we know what the dead creature is on the Ogor's back? Is it supposed to be a bear? Or is there some other AoS beastie that its supposed to be from the lore?
  8. Hey KingBrodd, Grabbed a screenshot for ya last night from the reveal video. Thought you might want it for your Forum thumbnail. Its got one of the little gribbly things sitting near your head, where it can whisper ideas into your gargant skull. Also whomever called it with the 3 fingered gribbly beasties from the rumor threads as being helpers/worshippers of the mega gargants, they deserve a trophy.
  9. School started here for the kids, so yeah. I guess technically summer extends to the solstice later this month, so perhaps they're going to squeeze in both tomes on Sunday?
  10. Shouldn't bee too hard, look at the traditional Ogroid Thamaturage paint scheme. I too run a Tzeench SLaves of Darkness themed force, I'd be interested to see what you come up with .
  11. Did you hear that thud? That was Kind Brodd passing out and hitting the floor after the Giant and Ogor Reveals! Congrats KingBrodd
  12. Won't lie, love to see it. But the army roster is pretty well filled out at this point, so I'd rather see Cursed City expansions that can be used in a Soulblight Army. Get twice the bang for my buck. If we're wish listing, perhaps a new Zombie dragon/terrorgheist kit, as I feel the sculptors nowadays could create a much more dynamic model.
  13. For KingBrodds sake, I hope we get another triple gargant kit. One where you can make a melee character, a caster character, and another generic giant. With halloween coming up, I'd love to see some of the Cursed City releases announced. Lastly, I like Slaves to Darkness to get something special for their winter release. That faction is inundated with mortal followers of chaos, especially with all the warcry warbands. I want a modern centerpiece model, like a re-imagined Chaos Warshrine, or perhaps a big beastie from Ghur that's been captured and enslaved. Kind of like a modern twist on the old chaos mammoth, but with a more fantastic monster in place of the elephant.
  14. Still waiting for those cursed city booster packs/expansions...
  15. They can be...but with Warhammer the Old World in the works and GW's push toward more unique IP's that can be copyrighted, that we wont see revised brettonians make an appearance in AOS. BUT. That doesn't mean I can't take them from the old world and use them in AOS as proxies or something. Here's hoping the scales are compatible.
  16. I'd love a more traditional medieval European force ala Brettonians to make an appearance, but I'd also happily take some additional love for Cities of Sigmar. Of all the factions in the game, I feel Cities holds the most potential for a varied army roster, as GW can always invent more cities in different regions each time they want to introduce some cool new unit or aesthetic. Im wondering if the dawnbringers will be a human paladin-esque group, a bunch of religious zealots, or AoS's version of the inquisition, or all three!
  17. Im going to say... Chaos Dwarves! This is their goad for handling captives and hobgrots! Also its got a nighthaunt kind of vibe to it as well.
  18. Then perhaps create another branch of the Ironjaws force? Gove some additional options to their playstyle. What about some sort of artillery or shooting weapons? Heck Brutes are large and strong enough they could throw a cannonball like a shot-put! Or make a Boar riding Warchanter that's an actual Priest and totem, opening up that avenue of play. What about a wierdknob on a boar fast enough to keep up with the infantry or Calvary, that has a unique spell and plays of the old More Orks = More Power trope to buff nearby units. Or a big Totem/effigy unit with similar mechanics to the Marshcrawler Sloggoth, granting an aura to all nearby Ironjaws. Heck that big Godbeast Skull that Gordraak toted around screams Totem unit or Terrain piece! Or some Orruk Endless spells! There's a ton of development paths open to ironjaws that fits thematically in the current army aesthetic, Its just not GW's focus or MO to do things like this. Also new Ardboy sculpts would be great.
  19. I do think the Kruelboys are nice looking sculpts. But we already had two Ork factions out there that needed an update (bonesplitters) or an expansion (Ironjawz). Introducing Kreulboyz and smashing them together with the older orks was jsut a stopgap measure and tells me GW has no plans to really support or expand their older armies (as long as people are willing to buy new ones). That said... I'm happy that the "Greenskinz" faction is basically back. I dislike GW carving out tiny subfaction armies. Now if only the Gitmobs will come back as the technologic scavengers we call the Skygrots, and give me some siege weaponry for my greenskinz army!. Shoot, Hobgrots could be expanded into the Skygrots, why not? Locally we've been toying with the idea of scrapping the entire faction system, and allow allies up to 50% of your army from anywhere in your grand alliance. You'd only get your normally faction benefits for your core army (ironjawz, gloomspite, etc) but the rest of the allied forces could still participate above that 400 pts/ 1 in 4 level we have for allies now. I'll let you all know how it goes.
  20. I noticed all the crushed bits are chaos related. Slaves to Darkness vs Sons of Behemet Battle Box? With a new Gargant hero inside? I hope I'm wrong, but the "new models locked in a battlebox" seems to be the modus operandi these days for GW.
  21. Ahh dreams! Its what we all cling to. I'm glad Brodd's is finally comming true, though the SoB are relatively new and don't need a refresh like some of the older lines. Ogors need a line refresh. They are old and showing their age, and destruction needs some love. Flesh eater courts also needs some revisits, perhaps a new unit or two that aren't characters. Fyreslayers need to die and the concept be reforged from the ground up. SEraphon and Cities of Sigmar need help, but that is mitigated by the sheer variety of old models that can be drawn on for their armies, so it doesn't feel as urgent. And then there's ironjaws. For years I wished for some additions to their line, and instead I got Kruelboys, the orks no one asked for (and made bonesplitters cry). Oh and I forgot about Beasts of Chaos...haven't GW discontinued them yet? When was the last time they saw a new model? THey got the Herdstone back in 2nd edition, but I think all thier models are still from the old world pre AoS. 🤪
  22. Don't Mega-gargants have FOUR toes? ---Checks Pictures online-- Hmm Warstompers have 4 toes, Krakeneaters have 3. SO It can definitely be a Mega Gargant. For a moment there I thought GW was trolling King Brodd, and this reveal was going to be related to those pesky rumor engine threads with the tiny 3 fingered/toes creatures.
  23. Any rumor out there about an actual order of Azyr faction? As in their own separate army under Order? Basically an excuse to make a new Human-centric fantasy army to replace the old Cities of Sigmar line? Lets face it, the Cities are a conglomeration of whatever was left in the old production line after they carved out all the AoS factions. I'd love to see an Order of Azyr faction that has lots of human units, mixed with some stormcast-type units. Perhaps knights who were inspired by Stormcast? Or perhaps they're humans from a city where Stormcast can't reincarnate (Nagesh influence, chaos stealing souls, etc, pick your plot wrinkle) and the garrison of stormcast there have taken to training humans to fight alongside them. So you'd get some stormcast officers and small elite units, paired with heavily armored human knights, backed by priests and Inquisitors of Azyr. You could even take the crusade-esque route and have the Order of Azyr spreading into Ghur to help the humans there that are besieged by chaos. Anyhow just a few dreams. I'm guessing the human army that I really want will appear for hte new Warhammer Old World setting, kind of like AOS's version of Horus heresy. They'll make the models slightly smaller in scale so they don't mesh well with AoS just to frustrate me
  24. LEages of Votaan: Modern Land Train equivalent AOS: Tzeench Battletome Horus Heresy: New Vehicle, additional customization sprues for infantry. Warhammer Underworlds: 1 new warband. Keeping my expectations low, that way anything more than that and Ill be pleasantly surprised.
  25. This image is from the Warhammer community site today. Check out his version of the hunger. The amount he heals is equal to his damage output that turn! Also he has the Vampire Lord keyword. And he's a foot hero. DOes that mean he benefits from the Legion of Blood's buff to unmounted Vampire lords? Or does it have to say Vampire Lord in the Unit Name? Its probably the latter. But he's still a solid character, and I really like the miniature sculpt. Hey GW, if you ever read these forums, was it that hard to make a warscroll for a unique sculpt? Could you step it up and make one for Anasta Malkorian? His spell flexibility is nice too.
