  1. @HanzoKurosawa The reason for the Bowman is when AoS first came out. And rules where provided for the old armies. Bretonnian archers where USA Army Delta Force and Tomb King archers where USA Navy Seals. They ripped the tournament scene to pieces. So they where hit with a bat. Repeatedly. If you can. Get 16 man at arms. Their good for two reasons. Meat shields and of sitting on an objective. And make a full 16 man knights of the realm squad (they reroll 1s to hit at 10+) Turn this questing knights into grail knights. They do better at killing monsters then questing knights. And I'd drop the trebuchet for a damsel and archmage.
  2. @Duke of Gisoreux Cool! I was informed by the tournament officials to use 60mm. However I was using the damsel on a pegasus. Will keep your base sizes in mind for the rest of my Brets. However, I most likely won't use my pegasus knights for a long time.
  3. As I decided to go to adepticon I had to get as official as I could with my model bases. @Tommy Orc King on Hippogryph = 60mm Enchantress = 75 x 46mm Damsel on Foot = 25mm Damsel on Horse = 60 x 35mm Damsel on Pegasus = 60mm Green Knight = 60 x 35mm Brettonian Lord = 60 x 35mm Knight Errent = 60 x 35mm Knight of the Realm = 60 x 35mm Questing Knight = 60 x 35mm Grail Knight = 60 x 35mm Pegasus Knights = 60mm Men-at-Arms = 25mm Peasant Archers = 25mm Mounted Yoeman = 60 x 35mm Battle Pilgrims = 25 mm Reliquae = 106 x 70mm (This one I am the most unsure of however) Trebuchet = No base for this one, but the crew men go on 25 mm
  4. Life hit me with a fast ball and currently changing commands. Have a lack of internet and other things. I went 3-2 at Adepticon. Was in that top 45% Placed 81 out of 186. Will post more when I can. Full reports.
  5. @oscisi If I make it to day two I will announce it here for you all. Most likely if I make it to day two, there is a high chance Warhammer TV might put me on stream. Already got a email asking about my bret's paint job. But no promises. Saturday is Day 1: 3 Games, I will post my success or failure at the end of the day. Sunday is Day 2: I will post on monday as I immediately have to catch a plane after the award ceremony. I don't expect to win at all, or even second or third. I just want to make it to top 10 if even possible. Just put Bretonnia up there. I think there might be a Tomb King player in there, wonder if the two left behind armies will get to face off.
  6. @oscisi Thanks for the tip, but I lack the endless spells. And I don't like more then one of the same caster as I can't cast the same spell. That and I find that the king is going to be needed. Battleshock destroyes Bretonnia, literrally my inability to take battleshock makes me win games some times. That and that sword of judgement is a kicker, glad I started to take it. I'll try those lists after adepticon. So far my current adepticon list has gotten me two more wins today. First against the new Khorne Battletome, but part of it was because he wanted to play Open War... and I got the Ruse "Reinforcements"... the return of my 10 man of Grail Knights was a bit to much for him. The second game was more tournament style and against Idoneth Deepkin. That one I was more surprised to win, but man did my King just turn himself into a lawn mower and remove some pesky ass weeds. As for Adepticon, I can't do Video recording. My Go Pro can only do a A hour and 15-30 mins at the lowest setting due to battlery. Maximum of 2 hours due to space on the card. I spent this weekend testing it out. I will be taking photos of my experiance however and will give my report. It could do longer, if I had it hooked up to a laptop. Like all day if I had a laptop connected to power. However, the likelyhood of me being able to do that at Adepticon is low as all heck and would take to long. Also I have the problem of my opponent not wanting to do it, or the tournament peeeps not liking it.
  7. I will see what I can do, do remember this will be tournament based. So I will have to work around the massive amount of tables and such and work with speed as it is timed. So It more then likely end up photo based. Rather then videos. But I will let you know. Also has anyone gotten any time with the Chronomatic Cogs with their bretonnians, I like them in concept. Have yet to use them.
  8. @oscisi So I got myself a GoPro Hero7 Black and some other sorts of nifty things. If my opponents are willing I will try to record every game I am in. And when I return do some amatuer video edditng and see if I can make a video of the battles. Nothing great like MWG but something for you guys. If my opponents oppose I will just take pictures of every turn as best I can.
  9. I take a 12 man for two options. IF I don't go first, their a screen wall 3" in front of my Knights Errants and Grail Knights. Basically so the enemy has to hit them first, and if they try to consolidate they won't get into my knight line. Points wise, they are not worth it. Lets take a look at their -direct counterpart- skeletons. I will put the man at arms stats next to it, in a color that doesn't hurt the eyes. (Legion of Nagash) Skeleton Warriors x10 (80/250) x16 (120/360) 8 pts per 7.5 pts per Max #: 40 48 Move: 4" 5" Wounds: 1 1 Save: 6+ 6+ Bravery: 10 4 WEAPON = Range = Attacks = To Hit = To Wound = Rend = Damage Ancient Sword = 1" = 1 = 4+ = 4+ = - = 1 N/A -or- Ancient Spear = 2" = 1 = 5+ = 4 + = - = 1 Spear = 2 = 1 = 5+ = 4+ = - = 1 Skeleton Champion: Add 1 to the Attacks of the Skeleton Champion. Hornblower: Can always charge 6", unless the dice roll is higher. Standard Bearer: -1 Bravery to units within 3" of this unit. Serve in Death: Add 1 to the hit rolls for Skeleton Warriors if they are within 18" of a Death Hero Skelton Legions: +1 attack if 20+, +2 attacks if 30 or more. Crypt Shields: +1 to the save if there is no rend, Alliance Death Battletrait: When near a death hero... you get a 6+ to ignore wounds or mortal wounds. Even though the Man-At-Arms are technically .5 pts cheaper then a skeleton warrior. Skeleton warriors are considered on of the top tier battleline and make a grown man groan when there is a block of 40 of them in front of them. Not only that Death's synergy with this block of warriors is stupid... they have like 5 spells that make this block of 40 monsters oh and for a command point. POP.... that 40 you jsut finally killed. IS BACK. Oh no to mention every round they can bring 2d6+4d3 back every bloody turn.... easy, for almost no points as its points their going to spend on those models anyway. Because a necromancer is bloody essential to any list. Even if they have Nagash. Not to mention, THEIR NEVER RUNNING AWAY.... Bravery 10.... Rules as they are, rules as other alliances get. Man-At-Arms... are not even worth the 7.5 pts they are. Hell I'd take Freeguild Pikemen over my man-at-arms if they could benefit from the rest of my army. Freeguild have a 5+ armor save base, their shields give them reroll 1s. And if you have 40+.... their hitting on 2s. Brabery 5, already 1 higher then MAA. at 8 pts a model, their still worse then Skeleton Warriors, but yet sooooo much better than man-at-arms. As for my king, he never engages anything alone. In fact, he ensured to engage with another unit of knights. If only to weakent he unit before it attacks the knights, but to help them finish it off. Freeing them up to push the line back. My king generally kills more then my entire army. He accounts for half the kills. Also... Sword of Judgement is silly. Divine Favor + Command Trait. You're doing D6 mortal wounds on 4+ to hits.... I take the Legendary Fighter trait so he has 7 attacks with the sword. Just the other day I made a just summoned Bloodthirster dissapear. "Poof" My king basicaly went, "Yeah uhhh.... could you not?" Endles spell wise, I have found only two to be useful to the army. Prismatic Pallisade: Its one big wall, that can't be moved once placed. It allows you to drop a wall of "Don't go this way, go the f*** around." Chronomantic Cogs: +2" to move? +2" to charge? ****** to the yeah. Enchantress does two spells anyway. Just hop, skip, and dance over and drop that baby on the turn you want to engage someone. Lastly, anyone have ideas on how to transport my army to Adepticon? I want to do carry on only.... but half my models are pewter. Have metal/zinc washers in the bases to weigh them down, and have magnets on them. Also don't know what type of case I should go and use!
  10. @Iggy Starhost oh nice! The old school king and hippogryph. I need to pull out my old Morgiana model and get her painted. Found my Green Knight as well!
  11. Thank you. But the painters where White Metal Games. As a military guy I have barely any free time to paint and my Slaanesh absorbs all of that. So for my christmas present I got my brets all painted up and comissioned. I gave White Metal Games full artistic freedom for my army. They went for a mix of Brettonia and old Tuetonic knights. (They used to have blue-gray before the white). I love em.
  12. Also @PigRaven and @Gecktron the legends rules only apply to named characters and cant be used in match play games. Another major issue is their keywords do not match up with Bretonnia keywords from their warscoll. Legends and such are only allowed in open play and if you opponnent agrees to it. Here is the link to the official currently bland AoS rules for Bretonnia. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/searchResults?_dyncharset=UTF-8&_dynSessConf=-6876459099026935267&qty=&sorting=&view=&Ntt=Bretonnia
  13. @AdenIts the Leon Model. The old pewter version if him came with a helm or his head as a choice. So you could run Leon or a standard Lord on Hippogryph back in fantasy. @PigRaven With how the end times ended. Abouy half of Brettonia and all of the Grail Knights (turned into battle angels), the Green Knight (turned god), Leon (turned god), and the Lady of the Lake's Daughter along with the Lady's elven god lover, where all sealed in a realm called Haven. You can see the gist in a earlier post of mine. This realm was innocent of chaos, and would shield them from the end times. So that they could come out into the new world and save it. The other half of Brettonia got eaten by the undead and nurgle or just survived the end times. So as @Gecktron said, there are hints of them existing in other factions. However with the Haven realm... GW has a great opening to return bretonnia to AoS. While it wont be the same. It will be great to have a true blue knights/calvary army again. As current rules for Brettonia arnt... bad.... their not great. They where last updated in June. The King is 400pts.... does almost everything Freeguild general does..... but costs 200pts more. A Greater Unclean One is cheaper then the king. That being so I have a 70% win rate with them so far. I am also taking them to adepticon and will record my triumps and failures. You will have to use the grand alliance allegiance for order. Which is practically useless if you have a king. The command traits are meh...artifacts are okay. While you dont get Bretonnian style endless spells. You can use the standard endless spells. However this is also a bonus. As bretonnia is under the "order" allegiance. Anything not in a battletome is not considered ally to you so you can take more allies then a new army can. I personally like Archmage and Battlemage (Amber). What I have seen of bretonnia is they do well against single wound models and armies with swarms. They are also dependent on strategy, synergy, and their spells. When I loose a game it is usually because I didn't get the spells out that I needed. Hope this helps.
  14. As requested here is the images of my comissioned army of Bretonnia: The Full 2000 pts Army: The King: The Enchantress: The Damsel on Purebreed Steed: The Damsel on Foot (Played as a Battlemage): The Lorekeeper (Elf Ally): The Man-at-Arms (Battleline): The Knights Errant (Battleline): The Knights of the Realm (Battleline): The Grail Knights: The Quicksilver Swords (Endless Spell): You can see a video that Miniwargaming Dave did the with the Bretonnians here:
  15. I will work on posting the images later tonight. Had to take a soft hiatus for life stuff there for a moment but update on the adventures of my Bretonnians: I will be going to Adepticon with them, sadly I will not be in garb. Due to the timing of Adepticon and my orders and school, I will be flying up Friday night, leaving Sunday night. I would prefer to do carry on only, and already trying to explain a case full of miniatures to TSA is a feat in itself. However Bretonnia will be making it's attempt at a spot light in that tournament. Will work on updating here as the event happens. As well as pictures and documentation. The Week of May 20th I will be visiting Miniwargaming for a full week. Where my Host of Slaanesh and Bretonnia will be facing off against them. Bretonnia will be returning for revenge, with updates to the list and what I learn from Adepticon vrs local tournament scene. Trying to devise a way to transport my Bretonnia on the plane trip and tournament. The entire army is magnetized and the bases are weighted. I am going to be doing carry on, probably going to store them under the seat. Something that can fit around 35 60 x 35mm base models, 2 70 x 45mm models, 1 60mm model, and 13 25mm models. If anyone has some ideas or experience please let me know. I have looked into brownie trays, but they are a little small and the lids aren't high enough as the lances are pointy and tall. That and taking a metal tray through TSA will be annoying. Also if you have any ideas for a display case I could carry around the tournament to show them off, not something super drastic as I need to transport it. As well as have to make it in under a months time. But ideas would be nifty.
  16. I will update on my armor rig for you @Pellynor later tonight after my evening shift. Also sending in my next (small wave) of Bretonnia in to White Metal Games to get them painted for me, so they match my comission with them earlier. Whats getting painted is small so it can be ready for adepticon. - Bretonnian Damsel on Pegasus - Bretonnian Grail Knights (5) (Being painted to match the first Squad of 5 Grail Knights) Will add pictures of them when their complete. Also does anyone want pictures of the army tha tI took to MWG, I know there was a painter partner program video from MWG, but I believe I still have the link to the photo album the commission crew did of the models.
  17. @Pellynor It will most likely be in the May/June time frame as I won't have free time until then. When I get a date set up I will sure drop it here so others will know when Bretonnia goes to get its rematch.
  18. My Brets are training hard for the upcoming Adepticon. Also currently scheduleing my return to Canada for a grudge rematch of MWG.
  19. @oscisi If you read through the end times which start around 2519 with the Twin-Tailed Comet, numerous things happened with Bretonnia. Also remember the Lady of the Lake is Lileath the Elven Goddess of Prophecy. She fortold the end times, and sought out a kingdom she could shape to save humanity, hense the creation of Bretonnia, the Grail, and her Grail Knights. In so.... history: - 2521 Mallobaude the Serpent goes into a Civil War with King Louen Leoncoeur. - 2522 The Battle at Quenelles. Mallobaude's army of Rebels and Undead beseige Quenelles, which is defended by Loyalists and Wood Elves. He "kills," King Louen and the Fey Enchantress (Morgiana le Fay) is kidnapped by Drycha the Branchwraith and brought to Mannfred von Carstein. - 2522 The Green Knight reveals himself to be Gilles le Breton, and slays Mallobaude before he can crown himself king. He takes up the crown of Bretonnia and leads its people. - 2523 The Battle at La Maisontaal. Arkhan travels to Bretonnia to join Heinrich Kemmler, where he obtains the Staff of Nagash and destroys Kemmler after his betrayal. - 2524 The Battle at nine Daemons. The Fey Enchantress is sacrificed in the ritual used to bring forth Nagash. Along with Aliathra and Volkmar. - 2524? The Lady of the Lake (otherwise known as Lileath the Elven godess of Prophecy) and other elven gods/mortals go to Nurlge's gardens and save Shallya by well putting a mortal priestess in her place. - 2524? Louen Leoncoeur is revealed to be alive, though not King anymore he is still a duke. He raises his armies to answer the call of Kurt Helberg and heads to Altdorf. - 2525 The Fall of Altdorf. Lots of ****** happens here, but basically Louen rides in like the Rohirrim. Then he leads his Pegasus knights in while he rides his Hippogryph to the Temple of Shallya. Loun slays.... SLAYS... as in kill kills, not just kills and sends back to warp, the Greater Unclean one named Ku'gath. However Luon is then slayed by Festus. Vlad then slays Festus, but not kill kill. - 2525+ While a lot happens here the most important to Bretonnia is that. - Lileath (Lady) reveals to her lover Araloth that she cannot save the world no longer, so she has invoked a new plan. The world has had this endless cycle, countlessly dying and being reborn. A creator gives life to the barren world, the family quarrels, culminating in a tilt in balance and allowing chaos to spill over. Beginning a new. Asuryan has created this world, and thus she planned for her Daughter and Araloth to create the new one. And her guardians (grail knights) shall protect them. - Abhorash, the first Vampire ever. Bends his knee to Gilles and pledges servcee out of deep respect, (as well as the fact that back when Gilles and the Grail Companions where liberating Bretonnia from Orcs, they fought a duel, Gilles won) and fights to the end of the end times with the First King of Bretonnia... oddly... undead and bretonnia fighting side by side. Even after the Empire fell, these two fought together to the bitter end of Bretonnia. (Hense why people believe the Flesh Eater Courts are partly Bretonnian. But, no... Flesh Eater Court is basical whats left of the Vampire Courts). - With that in mind, Lileath ascends both Gilles and Loun to "god-hood" and basically makes the Grail Knights into their "demi-god" battle angels. With that, both Gilles and Loun escort what they can of Bretonnia into the realm called "Haven." - The Lady bestows her powers and title to her Daughter, and puts her in this realm. "Haven," a realm described as being innocent of Chaos, untouchable by the four gods. She sends her lover Araloth there. - Lileath then plans to sacrifice the elves, and their gods, in order to make chaos weak so she can begin the new cycle and those within Haven can start a new Cycle, but with the knowledge needed to prevent another End Times. - About half of what is left of Bretonnia make it to "Haven," the rest are sadily... left behind for the many to fend for themselves. Most of it was volunteers to hold the line while other escaped, and in so end up being consumed by chaos. - Be'lokar finds a trapped Mannfred who, to get his freedom and safety from Chaos, trades the knowledge of Lileath's plan for it. Be'lokar finds her, and destroys her ability to begin the new Warhammer Cycle, causing the events that lead to Age of Sigmar instead. Lilieath dies in the final battles, sacrificed by Teclis. So what does this entail? The new cycle never got started. So half of bretonnia, the grail knights, Gilles, Loun, the Lady's Daughter (now the Lady), and Araloth. Are all sitting in a realm called "Haven," that could not be touched by chaos. They are awaiting the new cycle to begin... But the new cycle has never begun? Does that mean... will they come out to attempt to make a new better world? Will they ride out to assist Sigmar? Do they even know what is going on in the realms? So many possibilities GW has here for both lore and a entire new model line/army. As for Lileath the orgininal Lady of the Lake... is dead. She requested to be killed, she was sacrificed by Teclis (with help from Karl Franz, aka Sigmar, and Arkhan the Black) and he used her power to teleport him and the remaining forces to Middenheim.... If she is still alive... she is most likely in Slaanesh's stomach. But more then likely the Original Lady of the Lake... is perished.
  20. @oscisi I will attempt to record it as best I can. May have to get a go pro for camera work. Not video. As my phone will not last the day and I will need it for the app. I will bring my armor and if I feel I can get away with it solo. I will attempt to wear it. But again will take my health and safety over lookin awesome. I feel bretonnia will return in AoS, due to the lore of the end times. However it will be Bretonnia in spirit.... most likely because the Grail Knights turned into "demi gods." We will be looking at a more... catholic/medevil version of the stormcast. Rather then the roman feel of the stormcast. It wont be the same. But it will be in spirit. However... my other less holy and blessed army may be getting a update first... silly Slaanesh.
  21. Another victory for Bretonnia, against Daemons of Khorne. Also got news back from Adepticon. I am allowed to use Knights Bretonnia as long as all other rules are followed and they do not have the "legend" keyword. So huzzah!
  22. @AaronWIlson Thanks for the info. Never been one to know what the realms do for army building. My local area doesn't use them so. Pretty much mute if I am going to use Order relics to pick a realm the army came from.
  23. @oscisi How do you feel about Hysh being the realm the army comes from... Reason Being I'd like to take the Banishment spell on the Echantress... it does have a high casting value, but thanks to her re-roll ability she might be able to pull it off... and by gods... that could be a -powerful- spell in terms of tactics. Also, while I do want to walk around in epic fashion in my full chainmail outfit. The full outfit, if fully decked out can weigh around 80 lbs. This includes all the bits I didn't wear on the show. On top of that, it limits view, it is bulky and in tight spaces would be opressive. As well as the fact I will be standing around from 0800 to 1900 in the armor (11 hours of armor wearing!). In a room full of nearly 200-300 people. As I will be going alone and no one to help me in and out of the armor, helping me watch for heatstroke, or to help me with minor things like drinking water or food. I recently did buy a cooling vest to help me for rein fairs in the armor. But doing two days of adepticon... would destroy me without someone being my squire. I would love to wear it it, to cosplay it, to scream "for the Lady!" all through adepticon. However I would need a squire to assist me, or it could be rather dangerous.
  24. As @oscisi said, you can make a hodge pod out of what is bretonnia and order. However I find that mixxing to much of certain things can cause issues and keeps away from the fluff of what was. However wood elves and the beasts of the forests where friends of Bretonnia, ever since Gilles saved the forest from the ravaging green skins! So elven allies seems pretty fair.... that and the Lady may or may not of been an elven Goddess... but who looks into that? Another model thats pretty alright is the Luminark of Hysh or Clestial Hurricanum.... both are pretty expensive but the first one has a 10" bubble of Feel No Pain. And the second one has a 10" bubble of +1 hit as well as other nifty mage abilities.
  25. I also don't have a Malign Sorcery and my old local area never used it or the Mortal Realms when making armies.... But I will have to look into it for Adepticon.
