  1. Here are the videos of my list/batreps from the 3 game event I just went to. Nighthaunt Nagash: Next time I'll try out this list: But I do want to try my list again with a Lightshard instead of the Pendant.
  2. Being 6 drops and getting to choose was nice. I deployed to give away the turn and stayed the hell out of shooting range. I let my opponent have the early lead as I didn't go for the center objective at all. I only got 4 pts on T1/2 combined. In fact, I held back until turn 3 when I basically went all in on him getting my battle tactic and both objectives. Once I did this, he wasn't able to handle the split so I wound up killing his army in halves. T1 Desecrate - I couldn't do Against the Odds because I couldn't get the objective. The Hex got buffed with Shade and Seal and flew over into his backfield. Nagash held back, and everything was out of shooting range and couldn't be charged. T2 - Eye for Eye - He sent all he had at those Hex and moved the rest of his forces into position to claim the middle... lol... I wiped his 20 Greatswords AND Handguners in return. Nagash took down most of the Eternal Guard, which he finished off in their T3. T3 - I took Gaining momentum here. This was a risky choice because I needed to get Nagash onto the back objective. I also needed to Heroic Recovery/Lifestealer/Soul Stealer back to full health. He had a unit of 5 Sisters of the Thorn camped there and I knew that he was going to redeploy if I got close. I held Nagash 9" back and hoped for the long charge. Well, I got lucky... Nagash wiped them and my BRG killed his Frostheart Phoenix on the other objective. As always it was certainly momentum gained. Even if I failed the charge I get 1 pt and its a close game but I'm still wiping his army T5. Or in T4 if I got prio, which I did! T4 - I had Against the Odds left to do so I took it for the easy score. T5 - His army was wiped. If I needed a tactice I could have done Barge Through Enemy Lines
  3. I love it. I actually just played this exact list and did remarkably well. I did put the BGR and Hex into Bounty Hunters. The ST had the Tome and the Cruciator had the Pendant. Nagash and the ST brought back a lot of models. I played Realmstone Cache and wiped the Hallowheart list I faced. Nagash didn't die and dominated with magic, sat back and buffed the BGR with Shademist and Seal. When he did go in, he took out 20 Eternal Guard (over 2 rounds) Sisters of the Thorn, a Battlemage, a Sorceress and a few odd Greatswords and Crossbowmen with Spirit Drain. I came up with the list because I wanted something that was fast to play and or had a low model count. What happened was that the only models to die were the Hexwraiths, and I was so upset that they did because Nagash was going to bring back 2 models in my hero phase if they survived... The 20 BRG stayed at full for most of the game. I wish I recorded the game for my channel but I wanted to see how fast I could play. Try it out. It was mega fun!
  4. I don't. But here is a batrep of the Master Nate Trentanelli using a unit of 9 SH vs Sons of Behemat
  5. Here are the batreps for all 5 of my games with Nighthaunt at Season of War GT. If you want to listen to me ramble on aimlessly! See if I lower that Win% for the faction!
  6. Definitely. And not because of the win-rate. Its the whole aesthetic. I'm about to make 5 videos batreps of my games this weekend. Before I do I'll mention some changes I think I need to make before my next games. 2x20 Bounty Hunter BGR in Scarlett Doom is very strong. These are almost auto-include for my lists. I really liked the unit of 10 Dreadscythes. Lots of attacks and aren't GV so don't melt to Bounty Hunters. Lady O hasn't been performing well for me. At 340pts that is the same as 2 x Spirit Torment and a unit of 10 Chainrasps. I think I'll take the latter next time and see how it goes. Her Lifting the Veil and Mortarch of Grief abilities did nothing. No Rest of the Wicked never returned more than 3 models. Myrmourn Banshees are also auto-include. I'm still not taking the Purple Sun. Even though it is clearly an advantage to have in my list. Updated list here:
  7. Here are some more Nighthaunt armies that were in contention for Best Hobby and or Player's Choice. Except for mine! Because I'm too lazy to make a display board! And also too lazy to pack my models nicely, they just sit on the car seat like that. The hobby skills out there is amazing!
  8. Nate Trentanelli won Best Overall at Season of War GT this past weekend. He won on a combo of Sportsmanship, and his beautiful hobby skills. His conversions were really well done and the whole army theme is incredible. It was certainly a pleasure to see. Here is his list:
  9. Here are the Nighthaunt lists for this weekends Season of War GT: I hope you enjoy!
  10. I'm all for balance. I think there are several other things that are higher on the list than Nighthaunt. And, as far as I can tell none of the Nighthaunt units are sold out anywhere so the inventories must be high and GW won't nerf things until they're all sold out! Bounty Hunters should have been GV only. That's something they messed up on. And some endless spells are a bit silly. Am I even ready for changes every 6 months? I'm a hobbyist mostly and I'll never keep up with the meta if this is the case. Not that I try and keep up that much as it is. If BGR's change, it'll give me another excuse to hobby 20 more Dreadscythes!
  11. This. The top lists all have Purple Sun. Nighthaunt ignores it's main effect. MBMK and GG is the Megaboss Mawkrusha and Gore Gruntas. I got Roar'ed and didn't roll enough 4+'s For sure no panic. If BGR get an increase we'll look at Dreadscythes more competitively. I just do t own 40 of them yet.
  12. My 30 BGR melted to a MBMK plus 3GG combo. I was KGC bubbled. I also lost all 30 to Longstrikes and Tempestors with the help of a Hortorgast. Again KGC bubbled. Stormdrake Guard were clearly a problem before they came out. I don't see the comparison. Quicksilver Dead is also at 55% winrate and they don't even take BGR. Maybe the whole book needs adjustments? Something to hard counter Ethereal?
  13. I'm not saying BGR aren't strong. I just think it's way too early to talk about any required changes. Before GHB2022, GGR were all the hype. Now they melt to Bounty Hunters. And this was after people not playing them for a couple years due to the pts nerf they got from the Nagash and 3x30 GGR list. BGR melt too but they also do some blendering. Especially in this environment. My list this weekend has 40 BGR. The last 10 are the only models I'm using from the Arena of Shades box.
  14. Well. Scarlett Doom being strong is more about GV attacking in two ranks now and the BGR becoming mega blenders. The Bonds of Battle changed a lot and will be gone next year anyways. Is that Nighthaunts fault?
  15. Ugh. I hope not. Nighthaunt is also one of the most played factions. Nothing sticks out as OP.
  16. Your guide is great. Deployment and general tactics could be good. I had a crazy morning. My wife told me that our plans for next weekend had been cancelled. I then looked at the Season of War GT and saw that there were tickets available. I bought one and will be heading there next weekend. Bringing Nighthaunt. I'm going to do a video series again about my list and my matchups. It will break down deployment for the battleplans and how I felt going in to each matchup. I hope people find it somewhat useful but if not its certainly helping me to be a better player myself.
  17. It really depends on how you want to play your list. I looked at your list and wanted to run my heroes behind the units of SH. Especially the 6 SH's Then setup some counter charges. Seal of Shyish will help them take less damage. Seal is also CV5 (83% chance)vs Lifestealer CV7 (58% chance)/ range of 12". Seal is way more useful in my opinion. If you get Seal/Shademist on that unit of 6SH they'll be really tanky/good and if they get close to dying then Oly will hopefully bring em back to full. The bodyguard rule only applies if your heroes are taking damage, which they shouldn't be except from shooting.
  18. It'll be great. You'll have a lot of fun. Its got recursion, spellcasting, buffs/debuffs shooting, combat, and combat phase recursion. You'll be active in every phase and that will help you understand the game more. Just try and remember everything you do! Maybe put Seal of Shyish on the Spirit Torment and make him the General with Master of Magic. Lady O is a warmaster already.
  19. Alright, I've got a 1 day 3 game event coming up. OBR is my lockdown army and I've never played with them before. Here is the list I have come up with based off the excellent lists submitted by Michael Rausch over at The Honest Wargamer. Things might not go my way if I wind up against Teclis/Nagash but hopefully I'll still have the bodies with the Harvester to hold on. https://thehonestwargamer.com/author/swaggyshadow2121/
  20. That's the huge question. The one drop is almost a guaranteed choice of turn order at this point in time. I'm not sure its worth the risk to go to a 2 or 3 drop since you'll only be adding more Bounty Hunter damage vs GV's and people seem to be tech'ing out of them. Nagash, 40 Harridans, Hex, Cogs, Sun? 2x20 or 4x10? I have another 1 day event at the end of the month. I'm so excited and I have no clue what to bring. I haven't had a chance to play twice in a month in a few years! I created my VLog to help keep my spirits up and get ready for the games. I have received a bunch of positive commentary from people all over the globe. That's enough for me to keep trying stuff. Painting and hobby is my go to since I don't get much time out of the house. Hopefully I'll be able to make some videos of the army in a future vid. I hope I play new Skaven and Sylvaneth in one day! Nighthaunt keep on doing new Nighthaunt things... And people are probably taking the Black Coach for it's mobility. The new objective game is great as that teleport can get to where it wants. Just roll high!
  21. He's a really great model! The current state of the game is that you can literally wind up laying a huge variety of lists, unless you know your local meta so well that you already know exactly who you'll be playing and what army they're hot on. One thing that does stand out is that a lot of people are preferring to go magic heavy and include the Purple Sun. This pairs with Nagash very well as we all know he can shut down the hero phase all by himself. If you give him Cogs you're almost certain to avoid the normal T1/T2 miscast. Cogs are strong. People seem to be swapping the Portal for Sun. Sun is dumb and a lot of people are jumping on it while it so good. The math makes it almost as likely that you outright kill something quicker than the Hand of Dust. I think Nagash/Quicksilver/40Harridans gives enough spare points to upgrade the Spirit Torment to a Kruciator. Tempts me to play Nagash next weekend. Without the purple sun so likely not the silly OP NPE he is.
  22. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Jordan at SoW puts in 20+ hours of work for each of his "Gold Standard" reports. I'm lucky to get 2 hours a week these days and those 2 hours are spent mowing the lawn. And, I'm several episodes of Warhammer weekly behind and a bunch of SoW batreps! Remember back when we had more time? Yeah... those were the days! There are 4 2 day GT's within a 5 hour drive of me in the next 3 months. I can not attend any of them. Season of War (Toronto), Canhammer (Ottawa), Montreal GT (I'm running it), and Red Harvest (Oshawa). Then there is Nova which is a 10 hour drive. In November there is Da Boyz (Rochester) and December is Everwinter (Boston) I'm hoping for at least one of those two. Is anyone here going to any of these?
  23. No problem sir! If you are the only person who finds them useful then I'll consider my time well spent. Hopefully you'll get to play some games more often! We're all in this together.
  24. Here is the link to the battle reports I did Vlog style: Nighthaunt are super fun. I hope someone can find these useful.
