Anyone else despise regularly taking named characters?

I'll take them once in a while, for the fun of it, but I don't like playing with a character that doesn't feel "mine".

I want my games to tell the tales of battles of my unique vampire lord, not those of some character I didn't make, didn't come up with lore for and I feel no connection to.

You can always change their name! Think of what GW provides as merely a suggestion.

  2. I know I brought a lot of negativity to this thread after Kragnos was announced. I just wanted to say that BoC are still my favorite army and that this thread is full of great advice and better people. I’m hoping for BoC to get some love in 3.0.

  3. I agree that Ironjawz are basically perfect. Every unit has a role and fills it well. Brutes just need a little tweak to be more of a blender than they currently are. I’d only add one or two units to the range, like a Megaboss on Gore-Grunta and maybe some Stone Chuckaz

you do know this is the first new stuff SCE got in 3 years right? idk about you but i saw a whole bunch of nice things revealed in these past 3 years that had zero to do with SCE

You do know there are armies that are still majority Finecast and some that still have key models in metal.

  5. I’m the lonely contrarian who wants Duardin soup! I’d like a tome similar to CoS where Grungni convinces Fyreslayers to assist Dispo in reclaiming their holds and you can run mixed FS/Dispo lists w/Grom and/or Gotrek as General. You can take 1/4 KO or Ironweld as support, leaving KO with their own tome and Ironweld w/Cities.

I’d even go for a Big Waaagh type deal with all Duardin units available and you can acquire Rune prayer points to spend.

I want to swarm the skies with Frigates & Gyros. I want Slayers on Magmadroths charging up the board with slow marching Hammerers in support. Any army wants to step to United Duardin, “let them come” and face all that, plus our artillery. Bring it on!

  6. I think BoC are destined for squatting. Us & Skaven are the only armies who got nothing out of Broken Realms and Kragnos is a kick-in-the-teeth: just look at him! His whole aesthetic screams BoC, not Destruction. I’m really bummed. We are an afterthought army.

New Fyreslayer models don't necessarily have to be Naked Dwarf Infantry anymore than Stormcast models have to be tall-full-plate-Ground-Marines. Even the Slayer Cult list in WHFB had things like the Goblin Hewer and Fyreslayers are still fantastic engineers in the lore (Magmaholds are nigh-impenetrable due to their construction as much as the garrison), as well as further Magmadroth models.

Those Battletomes worked well because all they were doing is remerging what was already one Army Book in WHFB (minus 'Greenskinz' in Warclans' case).

Merging Fyreslayers, Dispossessed and Kharadrons would be more like merging Idoneth, Daughters of Khaine and Lumineth.

Not quite. Fluff wise the Aelves are far more different from one-another than the Duardin are.
