Both are valid.
Just make sure you remember which Chariots and Beastlords are from which batallion (and possibly Bestigor and GBS unless they are all in the DB).
They will be different paint schemes.

The apps don't check for Battalions, so you need to check for that.
Thanks. I decided to drop the Gors for Ungors and add a third Chariot. That should tick all the boxes. I'm happy to have a two-drop list.

Thanks for the feedback. Both the Ayzr app & Warscroll Builder said my list was legal. Glad I checked here first.
What if I split up my Ungor Raiders into two blocks? Would that work? I'm hesitant to drop my second Beastlord.
I could also drop Grashrak's Despoilers, that frees me up lots of points to make it legal.
I will make the appropriate swaps and drop my second list for more feedback soon. I have a casually-competitive tourney in June that I want to run this list for.

I've got Be'lakor, what was your army comp?
Be'lakor won me the first game with his Dark Master ability freezing Skarbrand, allowing me to hit him with two Magma's and then Shar'tor finished him off.

Good news, Azgorh-ites. My 2.5K LoA + Be'lakor list went 2-out-of-3 against Khorne over MLK weekend, including me tabling him twice.

Doesn't the BoC battalion give all BoC units the Nurgle keyword?
Would it mean I'd have to dump Be'lakor to take Glottkin as an ally?
The wording is very confusing.
-
Quick question: is this a legal, Matched Play list? Warscroll Builder says it is but a player told me the second battalion is invalid. Who is correct? This would be for a 2.5K match.
Allegiance: Beasts of Chaos
- Greatfray: Gavespawn
Mortal Realm: Ghyran

I could use some advice on how to deal with my opponent's Khorne list, which features all three Bloodthirster types, plus Skarbrand, plus Maz The Butcher. Feel like I am particularly scared of Skarbrand. Should I focus fire my Magma's on him and try to one-shot him off the board?
-
Very excited to play a 2.5K Narrative Play game vs. Khorne next weekend. Below is my list. The Great Taurus is a proxy for me running a K'daai Destroyer (I use the BoC Wildfire Taurus Endless Spell as the model). My opponent is allowing me to run Taur'ruk as general while still having the Execution Herd. I'm also allowed to summon K'daai Fireborn on a point system: 15pts = 1 unit summoned per turn.
Allegiance: Legion of Azgorh
Be'lakor (240)
- Allies
Bull Centaur Taur'ruk (160)
- General

Hello all. Long time AoS player, but just jumping into the Legion, as I've been mulling over starting a chaos dwarf army for about 2 years now. Something about them just pulls me in every time I look at them on the FW site. With that said, this is a project I'm going to be getting into slowly over this year and thought I'd work toward 1k points before moving on and expanding.
This is the list I'm looking toward. From what I've read, the fireglaives and K'daai are going to be your bread and butter along with the Taur'ruk. I've included the warhound allies as a cheap, fast and disposable screen. Any thoughts on the list and/or suggestions on maybe a different/better starting point would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Take the K'Daai as 2x3 because otherwise they will suffer from Battleshock, plus you can then do a nice pincer formation and potentially get Kiss Of Fire off twice for 2MW rather than 1MW.

Three answers to this:
1. Meta depending. If you don't face sv 3+ or better armies primarily, darkshards do the same job cheaper. If you fight ethereal opponents such as nighthaunt , they are straight up better as arkanaut rend goes to waste. Against, say, petrifex, their bolts kinda bounce off armour sadly.
2. Eh.. kinda? You can make a very good TE melee list, too, skipping entire arkanaut/darkshard/irondrake debate altogether.
3. If you don't have arkanaut models already, don't buy them yet. Kharadrons will be getting new battletome inf few months and, given how old the current one is, a lot might change. Everyone expects the option to max out on skyhooks to disappear, for example. And it's the main appeal of arkanauts in TE.
Thanks. I have a box and was wondering if they would be worth building. Seems like I will hold off.
-
So Arkanaut's are a must-take?

I wish players would accept an army going 3-2 as ideal, rather than 5-0.

I'm playing a friendly, beer-and-pretzels style 2.5K Open Play game in January against my friend's Khorne army. Here is my list, including Be'lakor:
Allegiance: Legion of Azgorh
Mortal Realm: Aqshy
Bull Centaur Taur'ruk (160)
- General
- Trait: Grotesque
- Artefact: Armour of Bazherak the Cruel
Shar'tor the Executioner (220)
Daemonsmith (100)
- Darkforged Weapon
- Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak
Sorcerer (120)
- Allies
Be'Lakor, Chaos Daemon Prince (280)
- Allies
3 x Bull Centaur Renders (180)
3 x Bull Centaur Renders (180)
3 x Bull Centaur Renders (180)
6 x K'Daai Fireborn (280)
Iron Daemon War Engine (180)
Magma Cannon (140)
Magma Cannon (140)
Magma Cannon (140)
Execution Herd (160)
Balewind Vortex (40)
Total: 2500
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 400 / 400
Wounds: 126
My plan is basically having two attack wedges: the Centaur charge and the Be'lakor/K'daai fly with Sorcerer on the Balewind and the Daemonsmith babysitting the artillery (Thermalrider allowing Smith to fly around and buff different artillery units if necessary). I'll be low on bodies so relying on the Magma's to snipe heroes and reduce hordes.

What's he rumored to be doing in his new rules? I always liked him and what he could do but thought it was a few too many points.

To my mind, Be'lakor flying in a triangular wedge formation with a unit of K'daai could wreck hell on an opponent's back field or be a serious objective grabber (leaving the K'daai behind if need be); as well, The Dark Master ability can counter a lot of those activation war shenanigans and I like the Enfeeble spell.
-
I'm leaning Be'lakor
-
Taking any good allies suggestions.
-
I was thinking of replacing his with the CSL on Manticore -- great anti-horde spell, can fly, decently tanky, and can cast Oracular on self.
Still, losing Daemonic is really going to hurt. Anyone know any other allied wizards we can add for a quick buff?
I fear our army is getting binned next GHB.
-
Bye Bye Chaos Sorcerer Lord's Daemonic Power spell, which I've used consistently to buff Taur'ruk & K'daai. Now only applies to Mortal STD units.
-
Until I get my Demigryph Knight up-and-at-'em, might try running this Mercenary Company in Hammerhal: Order of the Blood Drenched Rose

If you stay in the BoC allegiance, you can't use the stuff from other books.
For me, the two battalions are worth the points investment. BoC are not melee survivable -- Gavespawn nets me Chaos Spawn; Nurgle battalion means when I do die, I'm exploding for MWs; Desolating Beastherd gives me to chance to ambush for greater damage. Maybe, if I get massacred, I'll drop the second battalion but I think it is worth trying.
