This list is SO command point hungry. Be careful because you are going to NEED inspiring presence to keep the bobo's around. But also for the Harbinger. And Glottkin. Also, Glottkin can only have one spell.. cant know two from the lores of nurgle. I think you are going to find command points will be your achilles heel with this particular list. Also, might as well take the soul snare shackles  and still keep that command point.

Exactly what I concern. The consumption of  CPs  depends. If marauders die out , I think I might not use the Harbinger's CA, just to keep the rats around. And maybe bringing a  plague furnace as @Zplash said is a good choice for giving the rats even more attacks and battleshock immunity?

  2. Basically focusing on the Skaven units especially clan pestilens because they are newly polished and incredibly good. The most favorable units that have caught my eye are the plague monk and the VLC. They just fit in Nurgle so well initially. Came up with this:

    Allegiance: Nurgle
    The Glottkin (420)
    - Lore of Malignance: Blades of Putrefaction
    - Lore of Foulness: Plague Squall
    Harbinger of Decay (160)
    - General
    - Trait: Grandfather's Blessing
    - Artefact: The Witherstave
    Verminlord Corruptor (260)
    - Lore of Virulence: Favoured Poxes
    10 x Putrid Blightkings (320)
    5 x Putrid Blightkings (160)
    40 x Chaos Marauders (200)
    - Axes
    1 x Chaos Warshrine (160)
    40 x Plague Monks (240)
    - Foetid Blades

    Total: 1920 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 189

I've got  marauders with 5+save and 5+ 6+fnp as the screen. I've got VLC for his anti-horde nuclear bomb (maybe even his CA). And I've got 40 plagues monk as one of my melee killer for 7 attacks each with Blades of Putrefaction which means approximately 40 MWs if you send them unharmed  to your enemy's face. And the PBKs of course, for their durability.

This seems to be practical but protecting the monks is not an easy task for they don't get buffed from the harbinger nor the warshrine.

    Any suggestion from Grandfather's children?:P

I didnt even think about that. For 200 points he seems significantly better than our expensive nurgle models like horticulous slimux, the maggoth lords or the lord of affliction.

And I thick the Corruptor of skaven is also an excellent replace for wizard. 260pts for a wizard with 4+save and 5+fnp who cast twice per turn along with a horde-killing spell, hell it is insane.:D

Depends on the setup. If the Terrorgheist is next to another unit, say some Horrors, you can charge the Horrors and only tag them with 1 Evocators, and then string the rest of the Evos in a line 3.1" away from the Terrorgheist. Now the TG is not eligible to pile in and attack (so skips the "start of combat phase" modifier for Gristlegore), and you pile in and attack with the Evos. Even though you aren't within 3" of the TG, he's still the closest model, so you pile in towards him and attack. Then you hit him with the MW jazz hands.

Alternatively, if you want to play a bit more risky, you can charge one unit and string just one Evocator to be 3.1" away from the TG, and then only pile in .2" and hit him with the jazz hands only while attacking the other unit, though this has the downside of potentially whiffing on the MW roll.

That sounds practical. It's really helpful. Thanks a lot^_^

Who would you guys choose as a general for anvilstrike? @frostfire @Requizen

I totally agree with Requizen since the this general doesnt do much than expanding the range for the CA. I might choose Relictor as my general because he tends to stay with the longstrikes for transloaction.

Speaking of Relictor, I am trying to replace him with the Veritant. He costs 120, but gives your a dog, and he can unbind a spell(potentially +3 to the roll), has 6wounds which Relictor just got his 5wounds, even can do some mortal wounds to enemy wizard! It 's not too fancy but I am really considering him as an optional priest.

The matchups are interesting if nothing else. The list has the capability to drop a big monster per turn, but that's mitigated somewhat if they bring Ethereal Amulet on a big dude. Also, against Nagash LoN, killing Nagash is.... not easy, even with double tapping Longstrikes. But, you have a better shot at it than most armies in the game, which is a pretty solid ask.

Just hope you don't face them in Duality of Death or Relocation Orb... which I always do.

Exactly, all FEC players bring their dragons with the amulet, which make it much harder to kill the dragon in a turn. Haven't been dealing with new FEC, so it's much of a challenge for me. But I think it would be quite fun to stop their from charging my crossbowmen with the birds.:P  Quadruple  tapping with Longstrikes(if they dont double turn me)is almost guaranteed death to the dragon.

  7. That's why I think ranged units have their places even in a heavy infantry Gav bomb list. Killing heroes behind the enemy's ranks is quite tricky and important.Beaten by the Nighthaunt once and learned that a pure melee army might struggle to get to kill heroes behind the resurrectable units.

  8. Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals

    Leaders
    Drakesworn Templar (460)
    - Tempest Axe

    Lord-Castellant (100)
    Knight-Incantor (140)

    - 9x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Liberators (100)

    - 1x Grandhammers
    5 x Liberators (100)

    Units
    5 x Evocators (200)
    - 5x Grandstaves
    - Lore of Invigoration: Celestial Blades

    Endless Spells
    Everblaze Comet (100)
    Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (40)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 114

Apologize for the writing because English is not my native language.Having been running this spell list with my friends. Not saying it's competitive enough but has lots of fun. Stardrake's +1casting roll and the Staff of Focus let the spell become more reliable and powerful. The long-ranged MW output comes from the comet and the stardrake (maybe even the Heraldor) would take out some small heroes turn 1. And 20 Seq with Castellant  and SD will also be a big problem for you opponent to deal with.I still have the drake for opponent's troops, 5 evo for heroes who deployed far from his main army to avoid the comet, Geminids for the horde such as grimhast reapers .  The only “not good”part is the drake whose mw is all random. Thinking of dropping the Staff and taking the Scale for drake to increase his durability. Quite an interesting list with cool models!

  9. Very interesting list! It's good to see a gav list dropping the LA  and a bunch of Seq. Also Celestant -Prime is a threat to your opponent's big guy like the Everqueen  with his rend -3 and surecharge.

Having seen the Anvil doing so well yesterday(took out a well protected Slann turn 1), I think it may be  more efficient than the Gav when against certain list.

Didn't Gavriel just take top spot on the weekend?

I tend to think the 2rd list are more depending on 40 seqs and the battalion to cut down the drop counts than just charging with Evos. With 5 drops you may get 1st going, grab objectives and stick to them with 3+rerolling Seqs for turns.

    Allies: 60 / 200
    Wounds: 100

Played this list in a recent local game and won the 5th.I lost to a 30 reapers NH list due to underestimating the reapers but won the other two NH with the bladegheists easily .

Pretty much sure that Gav list is the most solid list these days. But it's obvious that it would lose to something like a Heavenswatch /Shadowstrike Seraphon or 90 witches DoK because they have good screening units(witches/skinks) and a powerful counterattack.

More than once I wiped the Slann with a single Gav and Evo charge and just watched a buttload of  sneaky skinks steal the objectives .

Is there a stronger list to win such battles or I just played the Gav wrong ?

Besides, I think Seraphon is the most powerful army right now which barely has flaws. But it didn't come out to be like this in the recent GTs. That's confusing.
