My prediction,  as much as I'd prefer not, is that gitmob will indeed stay souped with glooms much like orruks.

I'd wager the next book will even be titled a new as well. Something like "Gitz Klanz" or "Grot tribez" with a sizable expansion outside of gloomspite bringing gitmob into their own and possibly more.

As per Snarlfang having an awkward place I really really do hope they tweak the rules to present gitmob in a more "capable warrior to be feared" with a malicious intelligence. Fang riders should almost be an elite grot with excellent stats both in ranged and melee BUT still bring grots and all they're not terribly strong. So still leaning into the horde grot mentality but not on the level of glooms.

I'm so very excited to see what becomes of them and sincerely hope the range keeps the feeling that the initial fang riders kit presents.

And being grots I do hope they bring their own kind of troggoth to field as well. Maybe even a reimaging of sourbreath.

    Kits I like:

I would really like a foot troop kit (so I don't have to buy 30 fang riders kits to kitbash custom stabbas and shootas... I'll do it Geedubs. Don't test a ******.😆

Chariots of course with build options.

I'd love a war coach. Think like the black coach from Nighthaunt but snarlfang and loaded with gitmob. Perhaps even a ballista of something. Or even as a transport, unit type very much lacking in AoS, would be cool.

A heavy calvary Ike a gnarly plains bison all AoS-ified.

    Just a few.

💚 the new gitmob aesthetic and want more!

I personally hope we dont see a Grot chariot, but that is just me. I hate chariots, leave them for the old world xD.

Im fine if they stay souped, but like you said i'd want to see a rebranding of the battletome, it cant be gloomspite gitz if you want to have what, 4 (3 not including troggs) major factions inside it. Just make sure they have a nice roster like ironjawz to build a force out of, without having to lean into troops from moonclan.

What chaffs me most is honestly, is Kruleboyz have the exact kinda aesthetic that would have worked for grots but they made them orks haha. In another timeline, they downsized just a tad, made them hobgrots, and im playing that army no questions

Gitmob needs to leave Gloomspite Gitz asap. They just dont fit, even in the lore they arent the best of friend. They could use a completely different setting to dank caves and dark places. I also hope they can ally with Ogors, that would be awesome for a Destruction collector.

This is how I feel too. I love soup, but I feel like Moonclan is such a powerful aesthetic that having gitmob smashed into it. They completely overshadow it, and I cant help but fear that if I committed to trying to run a gitmob army, I'd just be forced into a few goblins, with moonclan and troggs.

Which is fine if you like that. But I love my faction have more to them then just "they exist as a minor faction for the main guys".

I think that's why despite wanting gitmob more then anything, Skaven is more appealing because at least I'm invested in a full faction.

From those leaks, it looks like the Darkoath are now their own full-fledged faction. (The third in the Slaves to Darkness)

I suppose we should have seen it coming since they already had two hero units. (The Warqueen and the Champion). I am guessing that means we should probably keep an eye out for any future models for the Legion of the First Prince. The gnomes were a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

    The new Darkoath look phenomenal.

Agreed. Slot in perfectly to the STD book, and really turn the faction up to 11. Its hard not to love Slaves now. They have everything, everything is nice and fresh, and on top of that you can look forward to releases for all 4 primary gods to augment/ add more flavor to your collection

Ok, so, huh, Ive thought about this for a long time. I didnt believe It some months ago. I need to process this, a literal skaven sprue with a date of 2024 marked. Needed to think. Needed to plan my answer here as one of the main skaven players residents of this web

+++ MOD EDIT +++ Removed inappropriate language from post

Love this if its the case.

What Skaven need in a relaunch is a core identity of models that people can confidently purchase and begin collecting. Lots of cool flavor like Plague rats and ninja rats can come with new waves!

Consider me on cloud 9 if this comes true

Holy moly. The end of the Horus Heresy, can't believe it's finally here.

Im honestly interested! Never really followed it, but seeing the confrontation between the emperor and horus in context will be cool!

I’d probably be guessing the same thing.

although hopes here is is if that truly is a skaven warcry warband, it won’t be the skaven update for 4.0

Absolutely. I'm really pulling for a full refresh, anything else will be pretty painful haha.

Or rather, at least enough of a refresh that the core of the army can be collected without worrying about new stuff replacing it.

That's where i'm at with skaven right now. Attached as my army now, since militant grots isn't in the cards. Have a box of stormfiends to find my colour scheme, but until the refresh I just can't get anything responsibly lol

I think it was just theorising based on them having gotten a mini-wave relatively recently and an Underworlds warband earlier still, coupled with Death slated to be getting a Warcry warband.

    warcry-road-map-for-2023-3-order-2-destr

    Im calling skaven for 4th.

No chaos on the warcry docket, so I'm feeling the starter set has to be them. Get a double whammy of a warcry unit, which accompanies their range reset.

The closest thing in the Age of Sigmar range is the 3rd Edition Core Book. It's lore section is extensive and incredibly illustrated. After that, have you considered Black Library? I'd really recommend the two Ven Denst books as excellent for recent lore.

I'd also recommend the Broken Realms series if you can get your hands on them. Cracking story and a great introduction to the realms.

Ive thought about the novels. But honestly I prefer my lore to come kinda like an encyclopedia, or some kind of written work where I can really get excited about a special edition/ bookshelf piece to help me get immersed into the world. I find a lot of the time warhammer novel's can kinda turn into "bolter ******" for lack of a better word xD.

I've already got the core book but I was really looking for things like Libra Chaotica. Might have to look at some of the old world stuff if I can find it not costing the equivalent of a car payment xD

Unfortunately there aren't any dedicated lore books for AoS yet. The closest thing is the RPG books. The era of the beast book for example is 100 pages of pure lore plus about 50 pages of rules that have lore snippets throughout. These books do have info about currency, trade etc. The city guides are particularly good as they really do give a feel of what life in the realms is actually like.

Appreciate it! On one hand its nice to not have "missed" anything. I look at some of those old Warhammer Fantasy lore books that fit when Im looking for, and I have to cringe at the price xD. But sad that we haven't seen anything like it yet. Hope that changes. Soulbound seems interesting, so long as they dont invalidate it like i've seen them do with some of those 3rd party TTRPG books.

Thanks @Baron Klatz for the info! I'll have to look and see what I can try to pick up. I'd always shied away from some of the supplements or battletomes. As I don't really care for the rules clutter, and just want some good, solid lore books that double as a decoration as much as a source of information for the lore. Will see what I can find!

Im looking for more in universe, cool bookshelf lore tomes for AoS in particular. Does anyone know of any good products that have a lot of both in universe tomes? Something in the vein of Libre Chaotica (Which I hate that I missed the run of), where there are no table top rules but just more information on the Geography, Realms, Customs, Currencies, peoples, ect of the mortal realms.

Bonus points for cool, collectors sets that have an interesting finish that might look cool on a bookshelf.

Really looking for more of these so I can begin to develop/ pioneer some world building/ Fun narrative campaigns to get me a bit more attached to AoS.

If you don't know of any, would things of this nature interest you too? Novels are great, but for me nothing beats a fun history book that lives in the world so to speak... and they are terribly hard to come by it seems!

Cross posted from the reddit as well! Thought the formatting would go away, seems not! haha
