  1. That head does look pretty damn crocodilian or reptilian at the very least, keen to see it in all it's (hopefully) crocodilian glory.

Bit less keen on the prospect of the Kruleboyz and Stormcast reveals being even further dragged out though.

  2. Another factor that possibly helped Indomitus was the leaked image with the majority of the new/redone Necron models, although it probably still would've sold extremely well even if the leak didn't happen.

I do feel like GW could've done some more solid teasing for the other Stormcast and Kruleboyz models that are coming with their tomes, all we've gotten is name drops for the Sludgeraker, Mouth of Mork and the description of a flying swamp creature. It probably would've helped build the hype a bit more as well.

Hopefully we'll get a solid reveal next weekend.

  3. I think GWs definition of 'later in the year' can be a bit loose. When they first revealed the new mounted wight king they said it would be coming later in the year which turned out to only be just over a month or so later if I remember correctly.

Just saw this, anyone heard anything from their LGS? I kinda assumed two week preorder meant M2O, this might prove that?

The LGS that i'll hopefully be ordering from did mention that they had been allocated some more boxes that are set to deliver in 4 months. Based on this it does seem like there's at least one more run of the box planned.

  5. Well damn I might actually like these guys, so far they seem to be a bit more than slightly bigger grots like I was initially worried about.

Though I'm not looking forward to the stress of trying to get the launch box, can't say I'm a big fan of the current method of starting off with limited boxes.

  6. I'm definitely in the camp of hoping it's not just another faction of greenskins or goblins, as much as I do love the Gloomspite and Ironjawz. Though I'll admit it does all seem to be pointing to another greenskin army, I just hope at least that the rumours/leaks are severely underselling them and that there is a bit more to them than just being slightly larger goblins riding wolves with a Mongolian aesthetic. Also sounds like a weird match up going against the new Stormcast.

I'm not going to completely write them off until see them though, knowing my luck I'll probably end up loving them.

  7. Considering Sylvaneth were some of my first AOS models and have always been one of my favourite armies I would be pretty damn happy if they got a second wave, i doubt it but the bit from BR Teclis about Life having a resurgence does give me a faint hope that there will be something on the way for them.

Although I'll also be pretty happy if the Kurnothi become a full on faction/army since they're fairly Sylvaneth adjacent in a way and I do like the look of the Beastgrave warband.

  8. I think I'm somewhat still firmly in the camp of Kragnos being connected to the Kurnothi, the red hair, fancy emerald/jade looking earrings. That and the bear-like face does give me a forest/hunt vibe.

I do also like the theory that he's the offspring of Alarielle and Kurnoth, either way, hopefully we get some answers sometime soon.

  9. Well damn, looks like Gravelords are the 3rd  AOS army I want to get into this year and with possible Kurnothi in the future there might be a fourth. Combine that with the two 40K armies I’m slowly working through and to make matters worse I have a horrible feeling I’m going to like the new 40K or stuff.

    Welp I’m screwed.

  10. Definitely reckon it's either some sort of bestial powerful vampire lord or Be'lakor.  Personally the bit about 'oversized fangs' does make me lean towards vampire. Then again it does reference shadows and darkness a lot which does seem to be Be'lakors thing.

Sounds awesome, sadly I have no idea how that black marble effect could be achieved. This tutorial from Mengel Miniatures might help, but as it was the first hit on google search I’m sure you have seen it already. 😅

Hopefully someone can help and you find out how to do this!

Believe it or not i somehow haven't found that in all my searching haha, seems like a pretty good tutorial just need to swap out the turquoise for grey. Hopefully the eventual end result will look as cool as it does in my head haha

Look up the dryer sheet method. It involves pulling a dryer sheet thin so you can spray through it and usually you would paint the base black and spray white over it so you get little strands of marbling left over but it should be possible  to invert.

I've not done it myself so please don't use my explanation as your methodology but I've seen the results and they look good. I imagine if you do the main armor first it should be pretty easy.

Huh yeah definitely seems like an interesting method, will have to look into it. it would certainly speed up the process rather than painting the marbling by hand.

Likely won't be getting any of the kits for a little while yet so plenty of time to keep researching, might have to also see if I've got something spare or leftover to practice on.

  12. Hey all, I've been warming up to the Lumineth since their release last year and this upcoming second wave might end up pushing me over the edge into maybe getting into them fully.

So my idea for the colour scheme was to do a black marble effect with maybe a semi-gloss for the armour panels with a light/liberator gold edges and details and purple and/or red for the robe and cloth bits. the part i'm stuck on is how i would actually go about doing the black marble armour, i have a few ideas but i thought i would put it you guys to maybe get some ideas.

    Thoughts?

  13. While definitely looking similar to a kangaroo, they don't seem to have the same method of locomotion. while kangaroos move both legs simultaneously as they hop or move, you can see in the image that this creatures right leg is raised while the left is making contact with the ground. this suggests it quite likely moves more like say a tauntaun from star-wars.

Suppose it means the riders are less likely to get motion sickness from all the hopping, though it wouldn't surprise if Lumineth were immune to such things haha.
