Liking what I'm seeing - cannot wait!
Is there a points leak anywhere?
-
And just look at them - stunning.

More likely, they have no choice but to spread the releases out... they definitely want you to be spending money...

Super hyped. Will have played 125 games with the old book - cannot wait for the new one.

Expect a second wind when the new books come out - if they are solid books, the appeal of cheap forces will drive things up. At the moment both factions are in a sorry state.

Woa there this is Sylvaneth we are talking about, let's not start throwing out hyperbolic phrasing such as "good"!
Sylvaneth are actually decent in 3.0 (the current faq up notwithstanding)

There’s a notable absence of anything restricting save stacking in this FAQ…
Why would there be

Thousand Sons and GK were massively delayed. Chapter Approved (GHB equivalent) had the points costs for those codexes in it, months before they were released, due to delays.
There are huge supply chain issues in the UK for everything - especially food. GW should be open about this tbh, it is likely not their fault at all.

Any tips on painting Blissbarbs? Really struggling with a tester.

Yeah Slaves are a defining faction in the lore. Archaon was literally the lord of the end times.

Off topic a bit but those stormcast dragons breath attack is terrible. 3D for 1, d3, or d6 damage?
These are civilised dragons - they brush their teeth

What they should have done is use the 40k rules for 6s to wound being rend-4. Would have been fluffy and different. It is bizarre how little rend there is in the faction.

Yndrasta is good but she's incredibly frustrating. She frequently underperforms her combat potential. She will drive you mad.

Hey folks, what is a reasonable and efficient to purchase summoning pool? I'm planning for a mortals-oriented army (Synessa/Dex as maybe the only daemons in the starting roster)

I've always been appalled that they don't advertise their salaries (and been consequently put off from applying), so this isn't surprising. Terrible practice. I can only hope it has improved in the five years since. They have regularly given large bonuses to their employees (which doesn't make up for low salaries).

Just to clarify, uniques can't take *universal* spell enhancements. The faction FAQs explicitly allowed uniques to take allegiance spells.
I know you probably intended that but just wanted to clarify for any newbies reading since its an often asked question.
Yup, that part is explicit and clear. Thanks for clarifying

Playing around on Warscroll builder - not sure if it was recently updated, but Drycha can't seem to pick Universal spells anymore. I'm pretty sure she could pick it a few days ago (correct me if I'm wrong)? Might seem to indicate uniques are unable to pick them after all - seeing as my Treelord Ancient appears able to.
It doesn't indicate anything. Tony, the hero who does Warscroll builder, is responsible for it, not GW.
Assume Uniques can't take spell enhancements for now. It isn't clear which is correct, but always better to assume the one that is worse for yourself. That way you get a nice result if it changes to allow them.

A friend of mine posted this in regards to the Generic Spell lore and Unique character discussion. It essentially mirrors some of @Havelocke’s thinking that spell lores are given to the army and not the Unique hero’s themselves. As in, the unique heroes are not taking the spell: the army takes the spell and very hero gets to choose from the available spells:
This really feels like a stretch. Seems very clear to me that they can't. I understand the argument, but the simpler explanation that unique can't take or use enhancements is clear.

For all the talk of them, priests are pretty naff.

The more I look, the more I like these changes. Alarielle's increased healing PLUS better scaling of her weapons really make a huge difference. Knowing all the lore spells makes throne of vines better too. Plus Metamorphosis on a 3+ 😮

It's very hard to say. Legions of Nagash was probably the best army at healing/resurrecting troops before. Now you pretty much only get 1d3+3 healing and non-controllable half size unit resurrection.
I think the idea is to tone down healing, but bump up saves in the next edition. Gravelords has a lot of instances of high saves now, between most heroes and even some units being on a 3+. If the rumours of a charge reaction that gives +1 to saves and Mystic Shield doing the same are true, units will certainly become harder targets across the board.
If healing goes down and saves go up, mortal wounds will have to follow suit, though, otherwise they will end up becoming even stronger.
Well, the scrolls for Zombies and Skeletons allow for significant amounts of healing.

Something very odd has happened with this. They would want to be selling it to you, not watching scalpers profit.
The way it has been 'disappeared' screams legal dispute to me. But who knows.- 1

Gryph Hounds are part of their profile now.
Vigilors are more like the Thunderstrike Vanguard than Judicators... odd unit though
