Assuming the hero's will be £20 the contents are £190. You can get the box for £88 from places like element games. I'm happy with that discount

No one pays full price for the kharadron overlords skywardens and gunhaulers, you get a start collecting. This box set is 2 start collecting boxes worth of content and I'm fine with it, I brought the new battlebox but it's not 190 quids worth of stuff.

  2. No one has mentioned the Stormcast endless spell Everblaze Comet. 36" range can cause up to 3 MW to units within 10" first turn then up to D3 MW each battleround after it is cast, plus subtract 1 from cast rolls for wizards within 5". can not be moved so its not coming back to hurt you.. plant it on an objective in the back field and let the enemy deal with it.

  3. I'm all for waiting for the rules but after 3 years it would have been nice for something new to paint outside of a hero and the underworld warband. That's what I'm 'salty' about. I play once, maybe twice a month but I paint everyday. I was looking forward to new models.

I will buy the battle box, get the battletome and enjoy the games I play but I won't need to buy anymore KO, I don't need to chase whatever the meta will be. I have enough.

    – complete update on Thunderers weapons. (3+/3+ on Rifle, a weapon that deals mortal wounds etc)

I can see thunderers having there unique weapons turned into 'are equipped with an assortment of weapons' and now having just the one gun profile. Same damage, less  jump through hoops to get to it. They did this with brutes and the thunderers profile is way worse.

  5. Would be a shame if the ships were regulated to display pieces again because they were just 'ok' on the tabletop. I have a beastclaw raider army and since the new book I've not ran thundertusks at all, it's stonehorn all the way if I'm running BCR or mixed ogors.

I will say the new white dwarf and battle box are all about air battles, so I'm interested  to see if that affects how the battletomes are written.

Well, we have now 2 "templates" of BT. You have 2 kinds of BT: the soup ones and the trio ones.  The soup ones are like LoN, CoS, StD even Orruks, they have many entries and try to "mix match separate" units more or less thematically.  And the trio ones is for the low entries armies like Ogors, FeC, Sylvaneth ...You have essentially 3 +1 way of play: the horde army, the elite army and the Behemoth army (and the last one is a mix of them all) . I have no doubt, KO will be trio BT with troups army, balloon army (like the upcoming box seems to tell us) and the ships army, plus the classic mix match....

Not sure KO can be done in either style because the large ships are troop carriers as well. The ships ,outside the gunhauler, are costed as troop carriers and their warscrolls are built around moving troops about. It is why they have always been lacking in armour and damage output. They would not work like other behemoth armies.

Actually thinking about it, you could have two warscrolls for each ship, including the gunhauler. One that allows troops to be carried , let's say 3 ballon boys for a gunhauler, 10 foot troops for the frigate and 15 for the ironclads plus the rule for more troops equals movement loss. Then the other warscrolls could be straight up battle ships with higher armour and better weapons but they lose the troop carrying ability.

For the non troop version you could have make different KO heros into the captain of each ship and have them unlock different abilities. An admiral as captain of a ship  could unlock the abilitie to make ships battleline. Khemist could unlock double shoots on a ship etc.

Would require a complete rework but that's what new battletomes are for.

Has anyone ever converted the Mournfang Riders into Ironguts? I know they are kinda of crouched down and in a sitting pose but do you think it's possible?

I've done it with leadbelchers and it looks like they are bracing to shoot, ironguts would just look odd. You could try putting a gnobler in front of the model to block the view of the legs

IF GW bring out a Giant Faction I think they will be usable by all 4 Grand alliances, with  different upgrades.  The Current Giant fits Ogors O&G and Chaos, so adding Order is easy.  Death a bit trickier, maybe a Zombie head, Bone club etc.

But what I think would be really cool, and ties in with hysh more, would be a Teclis faction of Giants.

Morathi made the Khinerai and Melusai with Slaanesh Souls, Teclis messed up the Deepkin with these corrupted souls, what if Teclis decides that the only safe way to resurrect Aelven souls is to place them in Penumbral War Engines.

Clockwork War Constructs powered by the Souls of dead Aelves, might I suggest trapping these Souls in a Gem Stone.

There was a ruomor from earlier this year about a clockwork army. I always assumed it was the clockwork constructs that mine sigmarite as the rumor was it was an order army but it could be Aelves.

  9. I painted up this ogor on maw-krusha as a gordrakk stand in as ogors are the true masters of destruction, then they changed his warscroll  and we can not ally him in  Now he nevers sees the board anymore unless I go full fat destruction and lose those MW on charge 😭

What else did you face against? The FLoSH with Amulet is a good counter of that shooting, isn't it? A 3+ unrendable paired with a 5++ with 14 wounds (that you can heal through Slaughtermaster) is something that can attract almost all the shooting of the enemy. Anyways, yes, I think that swap the Gluttons to Leadbelchers can be viable if needed.

@Zorki I have to look more careful through the spells. I liked Blood Feast because it converts the Gluttons into an unstoppable force.

A 3+ means nothing in a MW spam meta (warp cannon does MW for instance), the 5++ is nice but against a lot of attacks your struggle,  Also I wouldn't relie on the slaughtermaster healing/buffing because of 'wholly within' and our large base sizes, you will have to make an objective choice and split up your army.

I'm thinking on this list to play in future tournaments. What all of you think of this?

    Allegiance: Ogor Mawtribes
    - Mawtribe: Boulderhead
    Mortal Realm: Shyish

    Leaders
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (400)
    - General
    - Trait: Lord of Beasts
    - Artefact: Ethereal Amulet
    - Mount Trait: Black Clatterhorn
    Huskard on Stonehorn (320)
    - Blood Vulture
    - Artefact: Brand of the Svard
    - Mount Trait: Metalcruncher
    Slaughtermaster (140)
    - Lore of Gutmagic: Blood Feast

    Battleline
    2 x Mournfang Pack (140)
    - Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists
    2 x Mournfang Pack (140)
    - Culling Clubs or Prey Hackers with Iron Fists
    12 x Ogor Gluttons (400)
    - Clubs or Blades with Iron Fists
    Stonehorn Beastriders (300)

    Battalions
    Eurlbad (140)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 116

I'm absolutely in love with the Boulderhead tribe + Eurlbad combination. Even the "humble" Huskard become a beast with the Brand and the Metalcruncher. Slaughtermaster to buff the Gluttons and a healing over the FLoSH. 3 drops I think it's really good to get 1st turn or to give it to the opponent if the situation needs it.

I toke a similar list to this, I ended up giving up turn 3 against a skaven tide list which destroyed me with two warp cannons and magic. He got a double turn and that was it. I would drop the frost Lord or gluttons and take 10 leadbelchers. The leadbelchers help force your opponent to not sit back and nuke from afar.

No, because the battalion requires a Butcher, not a keyword butcher, when looking at the requirements. It's referring to the name of the units required, and not the keywords required. So you have to take a regular Butcher for Butcher's Band.

    Thanks, That's a shame.
