You are hitting the nail on the head. If GW actually used social Media to listen to their fans (wishes, criticism, praise, dissatisfaction) and interacted with people with honesty and a bit of transparency, then I am sure, there would be a lot of less negativity.

    However, they‘re doing the contrary.

“GW could you please fix this? It makes the game hard to play“

12 Articles, claiming that the game is the bestestestest and greatest ever, tested since the day the Roman Empire fell, flawless and perfect in design, and 40 social media comments claiming „they can’t grant any I formation“ later people tend to tilt.

It‘s mind boggling to me since nowadays products are meant to be produced in a agile manner... customers first and all that.

Not in the UK and the rest of Europe.

The pandemic might feel over to you, but finding paper and cardboard is still difficult for many industries.

Indeed. My father is working in the printing Industrie and he told me that ordering cardboard used to take 2-3 weeks. Now it‘s 8+ weeks.

I am also delighted with the new Legends Warscrolls! I was planning to run most of the Freeguild units that were updated so this is super appreciated. Many thanks Age of Sigmar team!

I am not. They‘ve slaughtered the War Mammoth (yet they did only edit the Monstrous Arcanum one?)

Also: At least one mage is missing the whole wizard paragraph...

idk, updating the keywords only would‘ve been enough. Changing the warscrolls and removing rules however... they should either support legends or not support it at all (as they’ve claimed before). This half-hearted change did no good imo. (And yes, I am mostly Mad about the Insanely expensive mammoth losing rules and keywords for no reason).

  4. I am a bit annoyed about the updates to Warhammer legends. They claimed these wouldn‘t get changed ever again.

they updated those with new keywords - fine.

They forgot some rules (some mages lack the whole wizard paragraph).
And they plainly forgot the S2D War Mammoth. Now there is a nerfed version in monstrous arcanum that I refuse to use. - Why the hell?

I don‘t mind updated keywords, i like it, but fundamentally fiddling with the rules of a unit that was supposed to stay how it is forever is such a bad move.

either continue to support it or don‘t. No half-way rewrite while breaking perfectly fine warscrolls.

I‘ll continue to use the S2D Warscroll for the Mammoth since it hadn’t been replaced.

Sure, sure. And Duncan should release all of his painting tutorials videos for free since he's just making us pay for advertising paint sellers, or Miniwargaming because they're just advertising GW products and other miniature game companies in the end. 😂

GW is promoting their product with the battle reports. The others are offering quality content. That‘s my opinion and the obvious difference I see.

I actually sit somewhere between HollowHills and Overread.  I think it's natural for us to compare subscription services, however Warhammer+ isn't purely a streaming service so to compare it to other streaming services isn't a like for like comparison.  In truth we're better off comparing Warhammer+ to other hobby subscriptions like Duncan Rhodes' Painting Academy, or the plethora of content creators on Patreon - although that's still not a like for like comparison.

I disagree. We should compare it to a subscription like Netflix, since, to be honest, everything apart from the Animations should be free anyways. They basically make us pay for their advertisements 🥲

It's almost like it launches today and they want to promote their service.

From what I've watched so far it's good quality. The painting masterclasses were informative and I really enjoyed the animations. I like they each have a diffrent style.

The fact I get a model and £10 voucher is the cherry on the top.

I do hope it's a success, I dont understand why people want it to fail or would take pleasure if it does.

This is a hobby we choose to give our time and money to and I happily give it because I enjoy it so much. It gives a fantastic creative outlet and opens great social opportunities.

I happily support GW and all the amazing artists, sculpters, authors, writers, designers, manufacturers, retail staff and countless others work there.

A lot to unpack here :)

There‘s a difference between promotion and a desperate attempt to get people to describe. I can‘t really put my finger on why I feel it‘s desperate. I assume it‘s because they throw that much pseudo-free stuff at you without actually talking that much about the content 🤷🏼‍♂️

I personally didn‘t like the quality of the first hammer and bolter episode at all. And I don‘t have any need for painting tutorials or mid-quality 3D content.

None of the Models I retests me at all. The 10GBP voucher isn‘t much at the prices they charge imo, so it does not interest me.

I really don‘t care for its success. Imo it‘s a redundant app, with content no one asked for.

The „hobby we chose“ is about miniatures, painting, lore and playing. The minis themselves aren‘t cheap. I don’t see how a subscription-app improves my hobby at all, on the contrary actually.

As a matter of fact: You mostly support the GW management and the shareholders. The artists are paid abyssmal wages.

To summarize: I don’t care about the app. I never felt like there was a need for it especially since nowadays there‘re way too many subscriptions based streaming services already, the market has been saturated even before Disney joined in. I personally can‘t find any content of WH+ that would improve my live or hobby at all.

Yet I am happy for you if you like it ^^

  8. Oh boy, is it just me or does GW seem a little desperate to get people to subsribe for WH+? xD
The whole posting of today was 90% "You get this, and that and this for FREE*" there was almost no other info in there XD

    * if you subscribe for a year. Rofl, that'S not free btw xD

They mentioned in their last earnings call that they are working on this. The current "downgrade" is to prevent piracy. It was way too easy to get a nice hq full text searchable version of any codex/battletome in minutes, I can understand why they would try to address that.

It‘s called photo-copy. Almost the same quality and one can‘t prevent it. They‘re focusing at the wrong issue once again. Perhaps if they wouldn‘t charge two kidneys for a lackluster, mistake-ridden piece of near-future trash paper, people might buy it. As it stands now books actually have almost no value, yet you pay way too much for almost copy-paste, will be outdated in a month books which don’t even work without an FAQ.

I‘d still buy Battletomes if they were costed like they were back in the first edition/start of second edition. Yet they‘d have to include quite some complete Warscroll rewrites and the bravery to include new flavorful ideas instead of „how many core rules are we going to break today“, or „let‘s completely ignore the background and do Sth blunt (Soulblight Vampires & Dynasties)“

Tidbit of Stardrake rumour for Stormcast enthusiasts.

Presumably from someone who has gotten hold of revamped assembly manual.

+2 Wounds for both Lord-Celestant on Stardrake and Drakesworn Templar.

But Drakesworn Templar now has 4+ Save.

Both weapons for Lord-Celestant(Hammer and Sword) now have Rend -2, with Hammer having Damage 2 and the Sword with Damage 1. The Sword has 6 attacks though.

Stardrake's claws now have Rend -2 and Damage 2, whereas its tail is now a separate melee weapon with 3" Range, D6 Attacks at 3+ / 3+ / Rend -1 / Damage 2.

Drakesworn Templar's melee weapons stayed unchanged for the most part.

His skybolt bow however now has 2 attacks instead of 1, hinting the upcoming buff for Judicators.

Somehow that doesn't make Star Drakes any more interesting. I was hoping for a complete revamp. The Stardrake stats simply don't feel like a Stardrake since it will still hit like a wet noodle in melee

Just why? Why not just have put in a rule letting megas count as leaders or subleaders in a pure SoB army? That would have opened up the core battalions without starting the special snowflake treatment.

Easy: They do it so they can sell the WD to you.

Yeah big same with my stormcast, i was all aboard for the new style minis but now im not even sure ill get the army book. Though, also very much the same for Kill team, the roadmap for that was the last nail in the coffin if there will be starter boxes with forces i actually want in rather than kinda fancy but the seemingly endless previews for both have had a huge chilling effect.

Same. They really put me off with their empty articles with minimal (and repetitive) insights and their constant „soon“. - It‘s been over a month, THAT‘S NOT SOON.
