I have an absolutely, 100% guaranteed amazing and mind blowing way they could reboot Seraphon/Slaan and it would lead to a staggeringly amazing centre piece model but, you know, this is the rumour thread so... 🤫

Put a Slann on any kind of huge, sturdy/aggressive dinosaur. Done.

I've heard there will be there 3 of them

Helda Stormborne- Knight-Incantor that doesn't damage herself with flasks and also does d6 mortal wounds with her spirit storm spell. Costs 20 points more than a regular Knight-Incantor.

Galiant Surefire-A Lord Aquilor that allows Vanguard-Hunters to shoot without los to their targets. Costs 20 points less than a regular Lord-Aquilor.

The Champion of Heldenhmer- A mysterious character ala the Celestant-Prime but he's just a basic 5 wound 4+ save hero with a special ability that allows one unit of Liberators to reroll save rolls of 1 if they're equipped with shields or generate extra attacks on an unmodified hit roll of 6 if they're dual wielding. Costs 180 points and is GW's attempt to bring Liberators up to par with Sequitors.

Expect them to come out in February as Rountree has been heard threatening executions if staff don't get another Stormcast release out soon.

Wasted opportunity if they don‘t bring in Balthas(ar Gelt)

they already get the shield rerolls?

welp guess it back to idle speculation time. since a lot of Dispossessed stuff are out of stock right now (warriors, Thunderers, Drakes and Breakers) must be a reboxing for the upcoming Battletome: the Grudge Lords

    Rather: Lords of chronical saltiness

  4. This might use a crude power approximation so new players know what they‘re in for if they choose for example Kharadrons

    sth. Along the lines of:

(very weak, weak, medium -, medium, medium +, strong, very strong)

    power approximation

    KO - weak

    Bretonnia - Very Weak

    LoN - Strong

    SCE - Strong

    FeC - Medium

    DoK - Very Strong

    Seraphon - medium +

    Beastclaw Raiders - medium -

    IdK - Strong

    etc.

Karl-Franz looks like he would fit right in with the "Anvils of the Heldenhammer" stormhost(same colors, deathly aspect).  I wonder if he was one of the souls imprisoned in the Great Oubliette.  If so, then he could return as character in AoS.  Also at the end of the dread solstice campaign the "Anvils of the Heldenhammer" were specifically called out as being hugely expanded. With with heroes trapped since before the Age of Myth and the there is the last part "None can say what fate the Mortal Realms will face in the dark days to come, and all attempts to unseat Nagash have failed, but at least the forces of Order, Destruction and Chaos alike will face the looming darkness with their greatest heroes restored to them."

We could see some new Anvils of the Heldenhammer named  characters this year.

    Let‘s hope so!

I'm more keen on my idea of a drill-tank that can pickaxe one per game...

Would a cavalry unit really fit our allegiance? I think not.

Gyrocopter/bomber should be our cavalry, i can see them merge within Dispossessed.... No mount, no strange golem, that's just not the look and feel of our other troups!

This is a high fantasy setting now so we will get strange new things. (Which I am not opposed to).

conservatism is the end of progress.

Not sure how much to read into the German thread about factions and sales, but I am not surprised to hear about Fyreslayers and Idoneth sales being low.

Fyreslayers have 2 big issues that I can see and I expect that they both impact the sales.  First, they have some absurdly high-priced box sets for infantry.  They are an expensive army to buy.  Second, they have somewhat of a silhouette issue in the army.  Everything really blends together from a couple feet away.  The models all look good for what they are, but they all look very much alike.

I don’t know what it was about Idoneth, but I know that my interest was high up until I got the book.  A whole lot of my enthusiasm in this case was lost when some of the units had very underwhelming stats and abilities - especially the shark.  In addition, it seems to me that they dragged the initial release out too far and more interesting stuff came out since then.  I can’t speak for others, but I would be more interested in the army if they had wider build options & synergies for armies with all fish-riders.

    Do you have a Link? I can translate it for you =}

I have toyed with idea of running a smaller more elite 1k list of just Longbeards as a front line.

    1 Warden King 120

    1 Runelord 100

    20 Longbeards 200

    20 Longbeards 200

    20 Irondrakes 360

I find it mostly funny because in my head the two main frontlines would just yell and grumble at each other when not doing the same to their lords or the Irondrake units, engaging in heated argument with each other. Mental image is hilarious to me.

I tried it, spoiler: you die xD

    Hey guys,

in several forums and articles, I‘ve heared about using the Special formation of Bleakswords, Dreadspears and Darkshards in Units that support each other.

Say, there are like 10 Swords in Frontline, 10 Spears behind to fight in ranks and darkshards behind again.

The Idee is, that Swords hve the better dmg potential, Spears support with 2“ range and darkshards that fire from behind. Every Unit gets their 20+ bonus as they profit from the our faction rules.

I think of try this next time, but never seen  before...

Has anybody expierences with this tactic? Does it work, and how do you use it?

Can the Darkshards shoot from this position (Line of Sight)?

    Many Thanks!

Works though Darklings die in droves so that 20+ Bonus gets lost rather quickly.

apart from that you could try to run „companies“ in which case you have the three core units 3 times (900 points) for objective Grabung etc.

In the end though you‘ll get swamped anyway, Darklings are way too expensive for their use (60-80 points per 10 DS, BS or Dread Spears would be adequate)

(your auto/correct makes me think you‘re German?) ^^

I think that the Squatting was made at the begining of AoS (Tomb Kings and Brettonia).

All other armies will have an update (sooner or later), but some units will be lost in the process. They can still make "legends" warscroll's for them, and even make some white dwarf rules to create exclusive armies from <random zone/city/whatever> that doesn't work like other armies (something like freecites, End Times armies, or even old campaigns and supplements).

One of the hardest things is try to maintain all armies relevant but we saw with legions of Nagash, Beasts of Chaos, etc... that they can just group some factions under one banner so that's not a problem anymore.

If they want, they can even create a new "Ravening Hordes" supplement for old kits.

I am pretty sure they‘ll tackle it with city Allegiances. Personally I would like and dislike this because it would grant each city flavor while robbing each Faction of it‘s flavor.

Releasing a lot of codi without new models. 40K could get away with this because it has a huge amount of useable models and a established background.

AoS cant do that. They have to redesign old models, update current ones (bigger box sizes, new bases), explain the factions place in the mortal realms and commission new artwork.

The 40K treatment would also mean that people would have to buy a new battletome for their army in a year or so as GW wont release a new range of models without a new Battletome.

    Thx!

    well they could do it with the SCE =}

I think we should keep in mind though that the 40k codex that where rapid release last year where just rule with a lot of reused assets ( like the cover art was basically the cover from last edition) and not much of other stuff, AoS battletome are more extensive require a lot more work to be put in ranging from Background lore writing, rule writing, new artwork, and that not considering think like Playtesting. I don't expect AoS to get the same exact treatment as 40k did last year.

And that treatment was what exactly?

    codex for each Chapter?

    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Stormcast-Eternals-Heads-Upgrade-2-2019

Two sets of resin heads for Stormcast Eternals from Forgeworld!

I wonder if they'll address alternate heads for other factions too - I hope so if only to avoid the Stormcast becoming Marines in marketing fully!

As mentioned before. The male heads have about the right size (though they don‘t seem to fit well due to beards etc.)

the female heads have too short necks and too small heads -_- the quality-check team failed hard concerning them (which is sad, about 9 of them look great)

Imo if they release upgrade kits they should do so for all Stormhosts at once including plastic heads.
