  1. I need some inspiration:

I want my AoS Models to be Cross-Compatible with the old world (hence playing as border Prince (Exiles), since CoS Models look the part)

What models could I use for Questing Knights, Grail Knights, Pegasus Knights? (I won’t be buying any old models, but the new Bret. heroes)

On bases, these are worth reading

Sure but honestly who cares? It's about as valid as "legacy factions aren't allowed in tournaments".

Int he end slight variations don't matter. It would matter if I put a gryphon on a 100x150mm base instead of the chariot base but +-2 cm is irrelevant as the GW trays by themselves would make your army invalid (they add aout 1,4 cm to the width and ~0,7cm to the depth of your unit)

Edit: Updated with 75mm oval: Single and 2 by 3. Updated 50mm round to square in a row of 3

EDIT: Updated the 30x25mm, added a lot more single converters.

I might open a serperate thread for this.

Some of the adapter trays I've made so far.

    five  60x35mm to rectangular.
two by 4 60x35mm to rectangular
    twenty 25mm to square
    thirty 25mm to square

Feel free to share, as long as you give me credit :D

    Convertability:
you can simple scale the 25mm round trays up to make them fit 32mm, 40mm, 50mm etc. bases with no issue.

    Example using the 20x25mm tray:
currently its width is 12.5cm, its height is 100mm.
Scaling up to 32mm means to set the width to 32mmx5 (16cm) and the height to (4x32mm) 12.8cm

The same does not apply to the cavalry bases since GW's oval bases get weird past the size of 60x35mm, it's some custom oval shape.

    BUT it looks so big!
Only the cutouts are slightly bigger than the base's footprint and beveled so you can put in your models without any hassle

TOW Cav bases are 60x30mm. Since it can't be converted I used 60c35mm. WORRY NOT!
If people use the GW trays the unit's footprint will almost exactly be the same size as the original since the GW Trays have a roughly 5mm overhangs on each side.

Updated with 75mm oval to rectangular (single and a unit of 6 (3x2).
Additionally 50mm round to square in a unit of 3.

You can do what you want with these files expect selling them. 😃

This should be all useful conversions. If you need more let me know!

(I might create a thread for this a mod could pin if they wanted) :)

  5. I am also positively surprised so far.

The rubber lance is okay since damage in general seems to have gone down a lot.

I hope my opponents won’t mind me using slightly bigger bases (with the GW trays the unit footprint is incorrect anyways) since I‘ll use conversion trays from my AoS minis :)

my ideas so far for the Bret exiles:

Baron and Paladins: Bret hero models

    Sorceress: regular Sorceres

Exiled Wizards: Sorceress in a black dress, necromancer stand ins etc (go wild!)

    Brigants with pistols/plunderbus: CoS Fusiliers

    Levy Guard: CoS Steelhelms

    Bombard: Ironweld Great Cannon.

I‘ll try to give the army a „Morgana, dark Arthus vibe“ combined with mixed tech, yet hoborable knights.

might be a fun mixed medieval army!

Edit: Just checked the GmG review,  Dukes and Barons can ride a hippogryph.

Yeah artillery now actually sounds fair and balanced, compared to the absolute nightmare it was in 8th.

In general lethality seems very toned down; less attacks on elite units, less AP, AP being divorced from S means that any S buffs aren't doing double duty, no more step-up, magic much less silly etc.

    How do cannons work now?

  7. Didn’t buy a thing.

Lords if the lance special edition was sold out. All Bretonnian Heroes as well.

And I don’t feel like paying and then waiting 2 months until my flgs get a restock.

    Guess I‘ll wait. :)

The magnitude of demand underestimation is absurd 🤣

The blatant lie is there were actually records of Skaven activity during this era

So if they really want to include Skaven they can always expand on that, bu nah.

For reasons understandable, they seem to want people using old models of models just designed for TOW instead of new AOS plastic

Well, they are just making themselves a joke if they think people will still buy, say, old resin rat ogres when new plastic rat ogres are inevitably released,

Agreed. Some plain honesty would go a long way

Hey guys, to reduce bloat we decided to divide faction into good and evil.

Also at this point (and for the next few years) we plan to ONLY support these nine factions „quality over quantity“

    Etc.

Permanent exclusion of those of most iconic WFB IPs when they are emphasizing on nostalgia sounds laughable

They definitely need to find a way to solve this dichotomy between Tow and Aos model lines

Idk why they are trying to push their agenda so hard:

    - Khemri evil SO EVIL, JUST EAT IT ALREADY

    - NO OTHER RACES SO STFU

at this point it feel and reads like they don’t want to invest any energy into this project at all (they act tired)

Now they "balance" armies by granting easy tactics to under-performers. Which means you are left to play with weak or over-costed units but you get some free points to artificially increase the win rate. Atrocious.

It’s not that simple. Due to tactics you have two balancing factors. If scenarios weren’t neglectable this edition those would be a third. Meaning army building revolves around a goal which can shift.

Looking forward to the first redirector MSU spam list to ruin the game.

Btw I never said they should add objectives or battle tactics. There are better, more appropriate ways to get at least additional score points.
