  1. Fusiliers should be the same as the Marshal‘s envoy which is 28mm according to the manual. Fudiliers are closer to the envoy’s than they they’re to the Marahal‘s base size (measured it). At first I assumed 32mm as well It‘s really hard to tell from the warped pages.
  2. Exactly! I still have a number of selfmade chars from WHF (Ephila von Kreysz, Dieter Weschler etc.) in AoS this simply doesn’t work. We‘ve had amazing times with these characters and made them our own! Sure they gave us the Anvil of Apotheosis, but let’s be honest here: The Anvil is whack - It usually creates super heroes and most people I‘ve been experiencing that use it have abused it to build busted heroes that are stronger than gods. It’s a nice idea with a very bad implementation. The framework is too loose to work. Edit: Just checked Path to Glory - one can’t customize one‘s heroes either🥲
  3. I‘ll be 3D modelling shields for my Handgunners. If you want the file (once it’s done) as well I will send it to you.
  4. She‘s also a mage with +1 to unbind. That’s worth something.
  5. Yup. Great models, but flimsy with boring stats and rules ^^
  6. Depends, she‘s very reliant on that prayer and she gets no bonuses. Apart from the prayer she does almost nothing. I‘d expect her to go up to 180/190. Huehuehue watch me Archaon, the Lord of the En*Booooom* - The mortal realms have been saved! imo the army will usually be human and a single other race: Either Aelves or Duardin, seldom both. My reasoning is that both factions offer some support, however there‘s not enough wiggle room to fit both into the human army.
  7. The cannon might not be good (need Greywater Fastness for them imo), but they look cool and they can body-block in front of objectives
  8. Agreed, psychers are somewhat redundant and not special anymore.
  9. I‘d disagree. In whf (the game was generally bad imo) heroes could truly shine by performing heroic deeds like an Empire Captain slaying a Vampire Lord due to unreasonable luck, also heroes usually didn’t die all the time. If a Freeguild marshal slays a vamp nowadays it’s a whatever moment, their stats are basically the same, whoever will strike first has a good chance of killing the other, so it’s boring. Heroes aren’t special anymore, they’re just slightly varying stats granting slightly varying buffs. If one wants interesting rules one has to pick a named hero - if they do something heroic nobody cares, it just adds to their tally.
  10. This counts mostly for gods. To make the game playable such would need to be tuned down or solve it creatively (Aspects of the gods fighting instead of the whole god) The majority of other units would be just fine (they even nailed Gotrek which is a powerhouse) imo they‘ve sacrificed too much of Warhammer‘s soul to create tech-pieces.
  11. My two cents on the Blacktalons and named characters: Named Characters: They are very cool, however from a narrative standpoint it makes no sense to have a singular character be part of every small, unimportant battle - that’s why I don’t like playing them all the time. It’s also hard to justify their presence in 90% of the bigger battles. The Blacktalons however I would even use in my PtG Campaign since they‘ve been sent by Sigmar to support my Dawnbringer Crusade. Matched Play: As @Beliman pointed out AoS‘s ( named ) characters are nothing but tools, a warscroll and stats to be used - it itches me a lot. Up to this day I‘ve played my Morathi TWICE (i started AoS with the reveal of DoK, I used to play WHF before) since I was sick and tired of seeing her in every list, every battle report, the unending repetition of the same makes me sad. I miss the times when heroes weren’t tools for buffs or to unlock a battleline option. I miss being able to actually customize my heroes which in return enforces the use of named characters. The biggest indicator of what I dislike about the current generic heroes is that they are underwhelming and forgettable in games (vampire lords used to be scary, they are a pathetic buff vehicle now, quite hard to write an epic battle report with such an exchangeable character)
  12. They also don’t in Black Talon. Stormcasts are nothing more but bigger humans in most depictions. I prefer the stories around them describing them as somewhat alien and incredibly hard to kill (the air around each smells like petrichor). It’s a stark contrast to what we get to see.

  14. My experience (only two games so far) was that the army is quick due to orders (+Misthavn). I could cross the board in roughly 2 turns with my humans. d6+3+5 movement and maybe +D6 run. on average that‘s 11 + 3 inches for up to 3 units. If you spike it’s 14-20“
  15. Leave my Fish boys and girls alone ;/ Imo Excelsis for Cavaliers is a trap Role of the cavaliers: Scalpels. In misthaven they get to move 2D6 at the end of the herophase, combined with an order of a Cavalier marshal that‘s +3“ to move in the movement phase. That‘s a 37“ threat range including the charge. Without the charge it’s on average a 20“ move which is awesome. They can score the following battle tactics: Mount the charge and bring full arms to bear (they will finish the suppressed unit off) I agree with most of your concerns, especially that we lack magical defenses (unless I‘ve missed sth.)
  16. I think he means the ammunition part vs the guy drinking
  17. For anyone who is interested: Played 2 games at 800 points VS Stormcast and Ossiarchs. The Scenarios favored me heavily so I won. Takeaways: Black Guard + Sorceress are satisfying! They deleted a lone hero (buffed with the no armour for you mAtE buff) they tanked the entire buffed Ossiarch army for two turns only losing 9. I love them as anvils or surprise hammers. The fusiliers did very little (10 wounds across three turns of fully buffed shooting) - Idk what happened here. Musthavn: Amazing I am sure it will be nerfed (sadly). My Cavalry always hit where I wanted them to Cavaliers: Imo best cavalry in the game. They‘re solid in every way, they killed key targets with laser focused damage.
  18. I love how one can actually play an army (not just a small warband) with cities. Some points may go up, yet at its core I hope it won’t change. My only concern is that the shooting will most likely escalate too much leading to unfun interactions like Sentinel spam caused. Without points I am intending on olaying a list like this (non competetive): Misthavn Marshal (100) Marshal retinue (180) Marshal on horse (120) Battle Mage (100) 2x 10 Fusiliers (300? Pts) 1x Cannon (for the style) (150 pts) 1x 10 Dreadspears (90 pts) 1x 5 Dark Riders (120?) 2x 10 Steelhelms (200 pts) 2x 5 Cavaliers (or 1 tenner) (360 pts) 2 Drakespawn Chariots (180) 1x 5 Drakespawn Knights (140?) Something along those lines just for the style. The Dark Elf part is interchangeable for 20 BL + Sorceress Anyways, I‘ll be starting a Path to Glory Campaign this evening using the following List: Misthavn Marshal General - +1 to wound with all out attack, 4+ anti-flee brazier Sorceress - No armour spell 20 Black Guard 10 Fusiliers 5 Cavaliers The humans are proxied (Marshal = Glaurio, Fusiliers = Converted Handgunners, Cavaliers = Some sort of riders)
  19. Is there an expected release date for the CoS box?
  20. Sure, still feels bad fir them to be just chaff (the book has enough chaff already)
