  1. As of right now, Lumineth would be the smallest AOS faction, next to the new sons of Behemat, at 10 warscrolls. The next smallest army currently I believe is either IDK or KO at 15 warscrolls, (So half again as large as the currently revealed Lumineth range.) In terms of model kits, the Lumineth would be the smallest new faction since Fyreslayers (again excepting Sons of Behemat which are a fundamentally different kind of army). Lumineth currently have 9 revealed, The KO, IDK and OBR got 11 kits on launch. People keep repeating that what we have seen of the Lumineth is the same size as other new army releases, but it's never true. Above are the numbers to compare. To be clear, I hope for more, but it is certainly possible that this is it. My point is that, number of kits/warscrolls as a basis to guess at range size actually supports the idea that there are more to come, not that this is all we have.
  2. There is plenty of reason for hope. 100% the other three elemental orders will get miniatures and get fleshed out down the line 1-2 years from now. The only question is whether there is more for this initial release, and as has been pointed out, with the range as it stands now, 9 kits and 10 warscrolls, no terrain or endless spells. This would be the smallest faction (excepting Sons of Behemat), that gives me plenty or reason to expect a few more kits to be released alongside the battletome.
  3. Both Kharadron and Fyreslayers had more warscrolls on release as well. I believe the only faction that was smaller on release was Ironjaws, but as they have been combined with the rest of the greenskin range, I don't think they count. They were one of the earliest releases, and GW's decision to combine them with the rest of the greenskins into the Orruk Warclans seems like a pretty clear sign that GW was trying to fix the earlier AOS issue of tiny faction releases. In that light, It would be an odd choice for them to go back, and make the same mistake again this late in age of Sigmar' lifespan. then again, we know Sons of behemat are coming too, and they are likely to only have the new three Gargants, the old aleguzzler, maybe a hero Gargant and King Brodd, so six warscolls, but I think the expectation of a Gargant factions warscoll number is very different from any other factions expectations on release.
  4. Very interesting, apparently Zaitrec and Illiatha, which people suspected were the names of the other elemental cuts from the box set teaser video (they were on the magic/equipment cards) are in fact the names of Continents in Hysh. Also, I find it very cool that the realm of Hysh is actually shaped like the symbol for Hysh, seen in the upper left corner. Excellent!
  5. Additionally ,I tried to ask if they had more Lumineth Lowdowns planned (since this last one was the first that didnt say, more in a few weeks, or some version thereof) All I got was an "It's not impossible!" Frustratingly vague even on the new article question.
  6. I just want to say, this range is so beautiful, even though these are miniatures, it looks like artwork. And that is an amazing feat!
  7. Of course. But there is a difference between people who state their case or opinion, critique something and then move on, and people who repeat the same point over and over, to try and shutdown people who disagree with them. The first person wants to make the hobby better, the second type of person just wants to be right.
  8. There are two kinds of people in this thread as near as i can see. Person 1: It's cool to not like something, tastes are different. I like or don't like this but I can acknowledge why other people do not agree. Such is life. Person 2: How could anybody like this? The existence of this thing is baffling, because of things I don't like about it. This thing is objectively bad and I need other people to agree with me to prove that my point is superior. Person 1 is why I come to this forum, and is fostering a POSITIVE community, they are not trying to denigrate the enjoyment of other community members. Person 2 is attacking something in a way meant to make others either feel bad for disagreeing, or to bully them into agreeing. Be Person 1.
  9. Saying 'hopefully this is constructive', and then describing the model as a constipated jack-in-the-box makes you part of the problem. Seriously, every few days, the same people post similar diatribes about miniatures that have been unveiled for weeks/months. If you don't enjoy the design choices, or aesthetics of the range, that is perfectly fine, but why people see the need to spread their bile and whining here and rehash the same points again, and again, and again is beyond me. I come to TGA for the positivity of it's community, but the last few weeks have been incredibly disappointing. You all can do better.
  10. It would be incredible if this is all we get. From what we have seen thus far, we have 9 kits, and 10 total warscrolls. That would Make lumineth the third smallest faction in terms of total kits, and THE smallest faction in terms of Warscrolls. (assuming GW thought Lumineth would release in April, before the virus) It's unbelievable to think that even GW would stretch out a preview for age of sigmars smallest faction for an unprecedented 4 months.
  11. I see a horse head/ear too in front of the dragon helm guy. So it could be an alternate build for Dawnriders, or it could be a mounted lord option.
  12. So the veiled lady is called Scinari Cathaller from the latest Lumineth Lowdown.
  13. So for those of you who are like me, and worried that everything we have seen thus far is it for the Lumineth, here is something positive to consider: If what we have been shown is it for Lumineth, that would legitimately make us the smallest faction in age of sigmar, with 10 warscrolls, no endless spells or terrain. The next largest are Daughters of Khaine, Kharadron Overlords and Idoneth Deepkin at 15 warscrolls and then Fyreslayers at 18. I just cannot believe that games workshop would spend three months teasing what would end up as age of sigmars smallest faction. That gives me hope that we have more still to be unveiled.
  14. That image was from the first lumineth reveals, it is Celennar, Teclis' mount, the spirit of the moon.
  15. Disappointed with no new Lumineth miniatures, even including the wind/river mage that was teased, we are still sitting at 9 kits compared to 11 for OBR, IDk, Gloomspite, Nighthaunt. I can't believe they would release an army with such beautiful cavalry, and yet not include a cavalry lord option. All that said, we should get another Lumineth lowdown this Monday, hopefully it is something new, and not just doing a deep dive on the Alarith miniatures.
  16. Seeing as this army seems to be drawing a great deal from eastern symbolism, river spirits in Korea (imoogi), China (Dragons are considered spirits of water), and Japan (famously Yamato no Orochi) tend to be water serpent-like, wingless dragons. Honestly, if Dragons have any role at all with Lumineth, it will be be as river spirits. Something like the Chinese Gonggong would be my personal choice, as it is an Asiatic serpentine Dragon with the head of a man, and I think a water dragon with one of the Lumineth Face masks in the shape of an elf would look incredible.
  17. Tastes are different. I was an old high elf player, and I personally think the Ox heads are more tasteful, and less comical then sticking dragon and griffon wings on everything, but that's the way tastes work. It is totally fine, to wish for carbon copies of old high elf aesthetics, or to not like Ox themes, or too think that the lumineth are simply too over the top for their taste, but when people argue about the last two points by referencing the first as an excuse, or that an ox theme isn't appropriate for an aelven faction that I feel the need to jump in and point out the hypocrisy.
  18. Right, if you don't like the Ox aesthetic that is totally valid, but trying to justify the righteousness of your dislike by arguing that the lumineth design choices are "over the top" or "not appropriate in an elf army" is just so disingenuous it makes my heart hurt.
  19. High Elf Fans: What??? They Promised us new High elves, not cow elves, look at how impractical and over the top those helmets are, nothing at all like the high elves we all love! Meanwhile: Anyone who is both complaining about how over the top the helms are, and saying they wanted something more high elven has some serious cognitive dissonance.
  20. I really just want some clear dilineation of power/abilities explained between incarnate gods (Gorkamorka, teclis, sigmar, nagash, ect.) vs godbeasts, and finally other "gods" known to exist in the realms (Kurnoth, death gods that nagash hasn't eaten)
  21. So fun fact, I just went back and watched Phil Kelly's interview from this past weekend about the Lumineth, and while talking about how the lore has been in the works for a while, he said this: Am I crazy or does that sound like the sculptors have already designed the 4 temples. Of course these are just off the cuff remarks during his interview, but it sure sounds like the full range has been designed already, so I think it very likely that we will at least get more than simply the mountain temple initially. Of course temper expectations folks, they could certainly stretch the releases out over a lengthy period of time, but if the miniatures are already designed, it seems unlikely that they would only have one temple available at first.
  22. I get it, I do, and I could very much be wrong. They have mentioned Tyrion a bunch, which gives credit to all of your points. However, you say that Tryion appears central to to the Lumineth but i just don't get that impression from the lore we have been provided. Let me try to show you an example of what I mean by saying that Tyrion appears passively in the lore of the lumineth vs Teclis being active. Here is a quote From Lumineth Lowdown 3 that i feel is a great example of pretty much every mention of Tyrion we have gotten in regards to this army thus far: They start out by framing the Lumineth aelves as being primarily shaped by Teclis, they then go on to name drop Tyrion and his significance in relation to Teclis. Finally, they mention that the Vanari Dawnriders were inspired by Teclis and his memories of the world that was. And this is what I mean by passive. At this point in the lore drips, they have already occasionally mentioned Tyrion as the militaristic counter point to Teclis, yet when it comes to the genesis of a basic aelven cavalry unit, they shift it to Teclis as the instigator. They had already mentioned Tyrion earlier in the paragraph so it would have been easy as pie to attribute the Dawnriders creation to Tyrion's memories of the world that was, yet they didn't. Even when later in the article they mention that Tyrion is the god responsible for militaristic inspiration, and so rightly the patron deity of a cavalry unit, the creation of them is still attributed to Teclis in his desire to rebuild what what was. Everything in the lore thus far is framed in the motivations of Teclis. Teclis creates, Tyrion influences. Active vs. passive.
  23. There are two big reasons I think Tyrion is extremely unlikely at this point. From a design standpoint, Tyrion would be the third giant model in the range after Teclis and mountain spirit and unless this range truly is more massive than any other new faction, that would make the army roster absurdly top heavy with so few basic units to support all the god tier ones. from a lore stand point, everything that makes the culture unique has been described to stem from Teclis’ teachings. He created the faction, he restructured it after the civil war. GW has occasionally mentioned the martial influences of Tyrion in the heritage of this army. But every mention of who leads the army, created it, shaped it ect. has been Teclis. Tyrion plays a big part in the lore of this army we gave been given, but he has never been mentioned in a way I would describe as more than passive. It has always been Teclis. I want this army to be incredibly massive because I love what I’ve seen so far, but Tyrion just seems like wishful thinking at this point in time. I don’t want people to have more of their expectations dashed, especially when that seems to be a problem for the wider community of people who were initially invested in this army.
  24. Only this Saturday thus far has been confirmed. When adepticon was canceled they said they would have warhammer o line previews on March 28th and April 4th.
  25. I mean Including the wind/river mage scene in teasers and the full army photo, that only brings the Lumineth up to 9 kits so far for the release. In comparison (and not counting endless spells or terrain pieces) Idoneth got 11 kits, Gloomspite (an update but still a large update) received 11 new kits, Ossiarch Bonereapers received 11 new kits, and Nighthaunt received 15 kits. As is reasonable, lets consider Nighthaunt as an outlier since it was a flagship line for 2nd ed. and thus had more support/push fit kits, that still means Lumineth could receive 2 more unseen kits if they are to be a release the size of most current new faction releases. Of course, there is no law that all releases must be the same size, and there have been smaller outliers recently like Hedonites of Slaanesh, but consider how long GW planned to stretch out the teaser ramp up for lumineth (it started in January and they had planned a spring release so likely April, that still means 4 months of teasing without adding more time to account for Covid19), it seems odd that would do that for what would end up being a smaller than average release. My money is still on on getting another elemental order fleshed out, and a generic mounted hero like most other factions get. I think it likely that the Alarith Stoneguard are a duel kit able to build one other order's elite unit. That means we could still get some sort of additional Elemental spirit, and a mounted lord which would still only bring us up to par at 11 kits. This Saturday should be pretty interesting!
