For the AOS 3rd ed. Starter set that is 100% coming between now and Summer 2021 (trust me :P) I could see :

    - Devoted Of Sigmar (Order of Azyr, Art-deco heavy armored Warrior priests, Free cities update, etc., including some redesigned Stormcasts units !) vs Orruk Ironjawz - Siege of Excelsis story arc

    - Devoted Of Sigmar (same as above) vs Shadow Elves (with "beginner-friendly designs" like @HollowHills said), as a conclusion to the Broken Realms story arc and if the Grand Alliances rules are removed (after some kind of Order civil war started by Morathi, Teclis and Alarielle in Broken Realm), to be replaced by the Allies Matrix from the GHB 2020.

nah mate with new vampire coast army on development we are getting slowly into brawlhalla on the eighth points with idoneth aided by new toys from nagash and malekith finding good way yo go reveal his armies from the mist and lumineth reinforcements on order side and oruks trying to force open a realmgate to eight points. AOS 3.0 might start with siege rules as main story arc with morhatti making power grab as her og plan to stealth starve aelven souls into only her army remaining  kinda blows up.

Yeah, that's far more basic flintlock/'primitive' than some of the sci-fi pistols with old timey flair you get in 40k for AdMech or rogue traders.

Some sort of freeguilds adventurer in whatever the theoretical new WHQ is? Or a WHU cities of sigmar warband.

Or yeah, vampire pirate, though it might be worth noting that for Total Warhammer 2, the developers did go out of their way to make Luthor Harkon's pistol look a bit more vampire-y.

well looks like time to raise the flag and warm your singing voices idoneth deepkin has their enemies founded by bone daddy himself

  3. Intrestingly some fluff and crunch update to seraphon works good way to update them to 2.0 with each  block of army using diffrent realm based astetic where hysh based ones get storm powers( kinda mimic sigmar style) while realm of beasts gets realy beefy berserkers as core unit. realm of fire can get good old flaming lizards and realm of metal can probably use some mechanic caste as their focus.

Tyrion might not have ascended unto god-hood as Teclis did? Tyrion might be present on the battlefield as a representation of Teclis’ will?

another idea is the tyrion in picture is basicly eidolon of him summoned by the new army so he leads the boys as awesome powerful representation of elven power while his real squishy god body pulls morhati and drink on the worship the new army generates

Why would he do that? Nagash wants a reality of stagnant unending death. Sigmar is fighting this war on behalf of the free peoples of the realms, so that they may grow and prosper. Sigmar's goals do not align with the Oblivion of Nagash.

It is as Balthas Arum said, Sigmar  cherishes mortal kind.

Also,  in Sigmar can be found the same themes and attributes as each of the dark gods. In there most positive manifestation.

Sigmar is worshipped as a god of war and honor, strength and courage. Of militant might and  righteous wrath. Especially by the people's of Aqshy and Ghur. In this he reflects the themes of Khorne.

Sigmar is also worshipped as a god of Hope and liberation, especially by the oppressed and the enslaved. Many also view him as a god of progress, representing the ever-expanding transcended knowledge of the heavens. In this he reflects the themes of Tzeentch.

Sigmar is also worshipped as a god of  family, hearth, home and protection. And of healing/life, spring, summer and the bringer of rain.  He may even be viewed as a father figure. In this he reflects the themes of Nurgle.

Sigmar is also worshipped as a god of Art, beauty and  inspiration, as Azyr is the realm of dreams, wonder and imagination. In the Mortal realms some may even worship him as a god of virility, sex and pleasure. In this he reflects the themes of Slaanesh.

Sigmar embodies a vast array of emotions. He does not want to eliminate what makes people, people.

hold your demigryph mate Its bit to early to intruduce black rune stone and prime imbeciles plot to warhammer siggymar might be embodying all the chaos gods fluffs but lets remind our self what happened last guy who tried that he is catonic skelton in power  siphon  and all of his work decided to pull 180 and go back to ruin.

  6. well the og reason was one king wanted to conquer death and rule eternal empire until our boy bone daddy decided to usurp the throne and some where down the line red elixir stuff created and vampires created. requesting lore dump from some one  with full knowledge but we are out of  topic folks before mods become aware lets turn back to rumors please.

  7. how does some one make farmers of sigmar battle tome in first place. Its more likely the partner faction fer tzeench tome you guys are waiting. but there is kinda open window for teclis's boys to support stornmcast eternals. and kurnoti tome would make some sense as these toys being their scenery as the standinf stones to many good picks but my choice would be kurnoti as teclis and malerion's boys gonna be nice ying yand package for their respective chaos god tomes.

I think the fluff is the least problem of Slaves to Darkness.

Personally i still thing that GW struggles with their rules because one wrong move and you overpower a whole faction like Nurgle or Khorne. But if they remove marks and gods for StD, well then you don't need StD at all.

I think leave them to get on with it, otherwise you get the cities of sigmar book but for chaos.

I'm probably the only one who doesn't like the book as it reads to me like a knee ******  release to silence a big noise that wouldnt  go away.

i don't want that for slaves, and yes, i totally agree that its a real balancing act with regards to how you handle them, its easy to speculate at this stage and it would be seriously off the mark, but if cities are anything to go by anything that was of an old design like chaos warriors and marauders could be phased out as the old dwarf models were.

anything which got a full makover during the 8th edition was an AoS aesthetic hidden in plain sight.

but im not trying to be negative here. Its pretty obvious that gw are working hard to really define the nature of what a chaos worshipper is in the mortal realms and so I really want them to get it right.  If thats going to take another year or more then so be it, rather than cave to the give us a book clamouring.

I kinda agree both of you as games workshop kinda needs cities of sigmar to be released so soup tribe based tome for slaves can be success both sides want. plus we are all kinda looking on what malerion cooking on ulgu which means we need more fluff teased before the dark and angelic elves can be safely released

  9. slabes of darkness kinda intresting tome as most of its contents are kinda either released via warcry or being released cities of sigmar( which slaves of sigmar being chaos equvalent)  but I kinda see thr problem which is strong fluff to merge them.

    A really odd one.

Can't see this being anything but aelven, aside from the style of all decorations being typically aelf, the handle is way to frail for a duradin item and they also tend to have blockier more solid heads on their hammers.

GW likes to have artillery crew walking around with light hammers, so maybe it could fit there. If this is Duradin after all, it could either be that or purely ceremonial.

Alternatively, we've seen aelves that are heir to the legacies of Mathlann, Khaine, Asurian (Phoenix Temple) and most recently Kurnoth. Maybe Vaul is the next on that list? Though a smiths hammer wouldn't be rounded I think?

My bet is on cities of sigmar book which makes the slaves of darkness book much more closer as slaves of darkness is the chaos equvalent of cities of waaaaagmar thus i just want to share this.

So the Warhammer Underworlds website has been updated with some Beastgrave stuff: https://warhammerunderworlds.com/

The rules changes are largely covered in this WHC article but the setting and warband sections are probably of interest for the background. The Beastgave is essentially a giant carniverous mountain that acts like a psychic angler fish, planting dreams and visions of treasure in mortals' minds to lure them into its caves, where it will consume them. This also has the effect of warping its victims' minds into more bestial forms, more aggressive and compulsive about being predators or prey.

The mountain was then affected by the Necroquake, which has basically intermingled it with the city Shadespire so they all but occupy the same physical space. Phil Kelly uses the analogy of a cracked mirror with this mountain behind it and the cracks being cracks in reality, hence those trapped in Shadespire accidentally slipping in and out of the Beastgrave. He also mentions the possibility that those warbands are somehow spreading the curse of Shadespire to those they fight, so the Kurnothi and beastmen are now just as much subject to the weird reality-mirroring/warping/resurrection nonsense that Nagash de-facto inflicted on those S1 warbands.

I would also note that Kelly did call the Kurnothi 'aelves', though given everything else I suspect we're talking about a pretty broad spectrum of what could roughly be considered an aelf, with your basic Azyrite dudes on one end and tree-revenants or whatever on the far end.

know this is  intresting as beastgrave and shadespire being single coexiting super dungeon with couple more locations and you got nice solid RPG adventure for nice camping with friends

As allegiance abilities these are keyed to ABYSSAL FLEET allegiance so nighthaunt wont benefit, also worth bearing in mind as the colossus isnt a hero he cant take the Command Trait. However they are all designed to add utility to the smaller, more fragile heroes to lend some more use or longevity.

Big monsters may come in time, to start balancing the ship aspect to make it "feel" like a fleet is my starting point.

still makes good picture with idoneth deepkin as opponent abyssal see vs ethereal sea used by idoneth this makes nice wuixia style battle of the seas.

3 - Ferrymans Prize—Though many in the Fleet run toward plunder and conquest, others bear the mark of the Ferryman. A debt is due, and already their forms begin to slip back into the shadow of the Depths
Ignore the Rend characteristic of attacks that target this model, as his ghostly form shrugs away such mortal constraints.

this is bit two good on nighthaunt heavy army with this on colossus and ectomancer to keep the boys going you are going to be unstoppable. but where is the kraken summoning bell

I have written a warscroll rejdming him as an Abyssal Colossus clocking in at roughly 240 with the ability to carry a single hero mounted in the rigging. His cannon is lethal but further boosted with the right hero inside (gunnery wight gives rerolls, spectral helmsman gives extra move and a heal)

He also has a Flagship rule that lets embarked heroes cast magic or use command abilities measuring from the colossus which makes it a fantastic anchor for the battle line

f me that thing look much better then the old one as flagship unit it makes neferata or other casters beefy and powerful at same time plus can we have elite version where we can put two units in that sucker.

  15. damn you sir with bone reapers and abyssal fleet on the f ing horizon  life on the realms look bleaker then then ever. kudos to you man you have fluff that  make bone daddy proud.  are we gonna get the  necrofex collosus on the army since that boi was best unit of vampire cost and him on the back of the army as behemot slot i can  see my enemies having bit of hard time to defeat me. grand Alliance nagash looking way to good right know.

I'm already thinking I'm going to do this to morgheists in the army

    Morghast+Archai.jpg

I might even grab some of the broken tombs off his site to do them the same way

    https://www.etsy.com/shop/skullforgescenics

However it is I think for the Bonereapers the morgheists should be marching with a menacing pose rather than flying on their wings. Though I'm tempted to keep some of the ghost parts on the lower part of the wings, model it so that its erupting out of the ground as if their passage tears the dead from the earth

Know we are talking  nice piece for brute role damn it know i want one for my own army
