The Varghulf Courtier is fast, tough, and dishes out a serious punch in combat. He’s got five Damage 2 attacks and one Damage 3 attack, for a total of six – but of course, add one attack to each weapon if he’s affected by his or another hero’s Feeding Frenzy, for a total of eight. And thanks to his King’s Champion ability, you can add another two to each attack if he’s hunting infantry, for a total of twelve attacks – and a potential output of 28 Damage in one combat phase!

Morbheg Knights are terrifying when they bound in with a Shrieking Charge, spreading around mortal wounds before combat even begins. The Cryptguard are surprisingly tanky with a 5+ ward save, and as a Royal Bodyguard, they help make your heroes tougher too. Combine that with the Standard Bearer halving the amount of models that flee, and it takes a long time to cut them down!

What’s more, before a game begins, the Flesh-eater Courts pick a Delusion. Dan chose The Feast Day, which meant Feeding Frenzy activated for heroes with 4 noble deeds points, not the full 6. This turned out to be huge – Dan’s army almost always had an extra attack on every melee profile in combat, inciting a full-on slaughter.

A horde army character built to kill hordes of infantry? Oh that's just downright evil GW...... I'll take two or three of them.

This part also feels mmmmmmmmmmmm Foreshadowy

"The Lord of Masks is now free, but at least Ushoran’s madness keeps him loyal and true. And he is entirely, completely mad – no doubt about that. If that weren’t the case, imagine what he might be getting up to, when your back was turned?"

Forget the quiet ones, it’s the fools/madmen you gotta truly worry about. You never truly know what they’re thinking until you find out that they’ve staged a coup.

I’d also love a reimagined Tomb Kings army but made from ghouls! A Bliskerskin offshoot in Hysh, whose delusion and “culture” has been influenced by the whispering of a Lahmian at Neferata’s behest. Some cruel joke of hers. Slavering Tomb Guard. Monstrous carrion! Abhorrents dripping in Nehekharan-inspired finery: gold death masks and ancient wrappings. Those new bat cavalry mounts pulling chariots. A twisted Sphynx, huge and bald and covered in Ghouls like ticks…

@The Brotherhood of Necros I was thinking of doing the same thing, though mine would be in the style of Akhenaten's reign mixed with Coptic Egypt: a formerly polytheistic society that now worships one god..... and that god is Nagash! Since TOW has been proclaimed to be coming in early 2024, I was thinking of taking the new crypt guard and giving them the khopeshes of Tomb Guard kit, the varghulf courtier a helmet/mask taken from the "face" on the howdah of the new Tomb-Dragon, and giving the morhbeg knights the spears and hoods (the cobra bits) from the necropolis knights. The idea being that they think they're a dynasty that never died, but in reality they're the remnants of grave robbers and colonists who've been breaking off pieces of statuary to "reclaim" their lost glory.

Flesh-Eater Courts fluff piece/interview. Some interesting stuff there about Ushoran's loyalty to Nagash and the art is great.

I know we’ve taken to joking that Fromsoft has been an increasingly strong influence on Warhammer art and mini design….. boy am I glad that is the case! Seriously Ushoran looks like he just walked out of an Elden Ring dungeon and decided that the filthy tarnished/stormcast need to go!

I find it interesting that the most duplicitous vamp in Fantasy’s novels has been warped into a loyal slave of the god he never wished to worship. Time will tell if that’s actually true, but I’d think it would be pretty grimdark if it was truly the case. “The War of Red Errantry” is a great title for a crusade, and every post by GW for the update makes me want to start an army of these fellas. Finally, the idea of Neferata sending her “elegant” vampires into the cannibal courts of Ushoran in an attempt to influence him just makes the part of me that love black comedy giggle.

Does anyone know how popular Necromunda is? I have never met anyone that plays it, but that could just be the local scene.

Are we talking about the actual game, or if people buy the kits to kitbash? I ask because I don’t actually play Necromunda, but I buy the books for the lore and the kits for kitbashing fodder for my 40K armies (mostly chaos and mechanicus).

Am I the only one that think that that we don't need more armies appart from Malerion elves?

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with new armies, but we are getting close to 10 years AoS anniversary and some armies are still micro-armies or most of their models are not even from AoS.

*Looks for plastic Chaos Dwarfs, sees none* I think we need at least one or two more armies before we can call it quits.

BY LONG LOST NEHEKHARA THAT IS THE MOST BRETONNIAN NEHEKHARAN I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! I get that this is Ushoran's own personal delusion regarding himself, but my god man where is your pride? that beard is so bloody basic even Gotrek would tell you to shave.

The person who apparently designed the only part of the new TK model I like confirmed a lot of my feelings about it.

I'm going to be the odd one out here and say that I genuinely love 99% of this kit, as well as the concept surrounding it. Yes, Tomb Kings may have had dragons back in the old days when my dad was a teenager and my uncle still had hair on top of his head(I'm not making fun of anyone but my family here, I promise), and the artist himself isn't the most impressed with his work.... it's still the first fully plastic kit for Tomb Kings since 8th edition and is therefore worthy of respect and joy!

My favorite part of the kit has to be the howdah, since it appears to be the most customizable part of the kit barring the king/priest (who both look absoutely stunning). My favorite bit has to be the face on the priest's version... which is a shame as I intend to use it in a kit bash unless I buy two of these things (and with the way GW prices are going, that isn't likely). My one complaint is that the dragon doesn't have any flesh on him: for something that was apparently tended to by the mortuary cult, it doesn't look like they really gave a damn. TLDR: If this thing has the Flying keyword I'm gonna laugh my skeletal booty off as my enemies watch my dynasty take to the skies.

  9. Like many of us here today, I was swept away by the FEC. They’ve easily become the best models in the entirety of GE’s death wave save for one….. THE NEW CROCODILE DRAGON OF COURSE!!!!
My hobby budget might not recover, but I definitely need the following when they come out: 1 FEC army box, 1-2 of the Tomb King on Dragon (depends on price), Ushoran, and 3 of the Night Lords killteam. this of course, is entirely dependent on the rest of LONG LOST NEHEKHARA’S!!!! previewed models, as I refuse to be piece that GW doesn’t have some more kits hidden away in the sands…..

Oh man, now I know how @KingBrodd felt when the gargants came a knocking….. oh god my budget is about to be murdered…..

So, what’s the over-under on there being secretly more models for Book 4 that we haven’t seen yet? The Morghast wing rumor engine remains unsolved and now is the only remaining candidate for that wing, so it’s now or several months from now for that.

The same odds as there being more tomb king reveals: high.

The only way I can describe seeing that Ushoran leak whilst I was out walking the dog is probably the same feeling to when I first walked Into a shop and actually saw Warhammer.

The Only other time outside of that I’ve had that feeling was opening a White Dwarf and Seeing Be’Lakor.

Congrats to the Design Team that produced that, not only a classic for the ages - but how on Earth can you possibly make something so otherworldly cool and be able to keep it a secret without ecstatic joy. It may have taken 30+ years to get an Ushoran model but it was worth it: fanboy rant over.

My reaction to the Ushoran was essentially the same one I had when I first saw Optimus Prime day in the original 1986 movie back when I was two-three: confusion, then a mixture of horror and awe. All I’m gonna say is that THE LEGIONS OF LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!! Will gladly fight alongside this corpulent tyrant of a mortarch.

I know, it was a strange way to to say that I do not like this art, as I did not like the old marauders.

Sometimes my sarcasm level is too stupid.
