  1. Maybe we’ll get an Age of Darkness deal? The starter box first then a few indexes before we get specific books for each faction. I wonder how this box set will be “designed” so to speak: is it like the 3rd edition box (multiple heroes and a few elites + battle line) or the standard “2 new heroes and their factions” kind of deal? Also, is anyone surprised we haven’t heard about Cathay or Kislev? Since those two were the factions that kinda teased this whole endeavor……
  2. BY LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!!! PLASTIC TOMB KINNNGGGGGGGSSSSSS!!!!!!
  3. Indeed brother @The Brotherhood of Necros, indeed. @Neil Arthur Hotep and @TristanGray! Rejoice brothers! Not only have we not been forgotten, but it looks like we are the first in line for new models!!!
  4. BY LONG LOST NEHEKHARA AND MYSTERIOUS ARABY I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!! Alhamdulillah my dreams and prayers have been answered! I honesty didn't think Tomb Kings would be getting new models immediately with TOW, but this? This is beautiful.... Oh god I need to start saving up cash, the TK fans are gonna preorder everything GW has when this drops.
  5. The Realm of the Simurgh in Exile: A Map of the Soul-Vine Bayou and The Kingdoms Within By Alyzabeth Al-Aryan, Mapwright 1st-class of The Oracle's Path Dawnbringer Crusade It has been a month since our caravan made headway into the Sigmar-damned region known to the local reclaimed as The Soul-Vine Bayou, and it is already growing clear to everyone from the civilians to the soldiers of the Freeguild that our so-called wise leader did not do nearly enough research regarding it's inhabitants. Chief amongst the misunderstandings that have plagues our crusade is the status of the "ruins" we intended to use as the foundation of a new Free-City. While the records taken from the Halls of Holy Azyrheim claimed that the ancient city of Dominque had been abandoned during The Age of Chaos, it appears that it did not remain abandoned for long. Now the city is known as Vulturopolis, having been resettled by a Deathrattle warlord named Zamses "The Ever Joyful" and his retainers after the loss of their ancestral underworld to an Arcanite Invasion. Zamses and his ilk quickly conquered the ancient city, and have spent the centuries since their arrival uniting the local tribes under the worship of their patron Godbeast, The Two-Headed Vulture known as Sekhubis. In Addition to Vulturopolis, the Deathrattle Kingdom is made up of two other fortress-states, bound through trade and treaty in such a manner that none could survive without the other two: The port-city of Usirian's Maw, named for the large skulls of long dead beasts which form the foundation for the port. It is from here that the Tymsheh Dynasty of vampires stake their claim, building the war barques that patrol the waterways of the region. The second site of importance is known as The Manse of The Brass Scorpion, a fortress-forge dedicated to supplying the growing forces of Zamses and Sekhubis with the finest weapons the bound djinn smiths can forge. The Manse is also home to an enclave of the Kharadron Overlords from Barak-Khazzan, a strange lot even by Kharadron standards whose primary trade is in funerary rites and the forging of shade glass of all things! The Duardin supply the djinn and their overseers with metal from their mountain mines, and in return the Mortuary Priest of Sekhubis supply allow the Endrinmasters and Aether-Khemists of the City of Spirits to comb through their libraries for the secrets to bind souls into stone and metal. Regardless of their.... peculiar reading habits, the Duardin are still Kharadron, and they were quick to speak to us about establishing trade once our city is up and running. While the three cities have garnered most of the Crusade's attention, being decried by the more zealous amongst us as a blasphemy that needed to be purged. The Sigmarites are itching to reclaim the city and it's flocks as their own, while the Lumineth amongst us seem to even more arrogant than usual for the hyshian aelves (perhaps I will talk to the Scinari Lianora about this later, she has been the most approachable of the conclave by far) it is my humble opinion that the "Three Tombs" as the more cruder members of our expedition have begun to call them are the least of our worries. Talking to the emissaries of Vulturopolis has enlightened us to a grim prospect: The Great Enemy is just as prevalent here as anywhere else. The locals speak of an invasion by a hedonite carnival, lead by a daemon-princess known as "The Orchid of Lust and Longing." In addition to this outside force, the taint of the Arcanites still seems to haunt the small kingdom even after their forced exile, as the Eye of Tzeentch can sometimes be found etched into the bark of every ninth mangrove tree in the swamplands, with golden trinkets that distort the air around them hanging from their branches. I was also warned to stay indoors on the night of a new moon, lest I tempt the "Sultan of Mania" to damn me with insanity. Perhaps it is just a simple superstition told to children by their mother's to keep them from venturing out at night, but with the Siege of Excelsis still fresh in the memories of many, one can never be too cautious....
  6. While not directly related to TOW, it looks like Cubicle7 has been given the green light to expand upon the Vampire Coast! They recently posted a new "hero"/creature tied to the Coasts called a "Brine-Wife" from their upcoming Austria campaign book. I don't know about you all, but this makes me increasingly hopeful that we'll get some kind of shanty loving undead in the near future....
  7. You just had to forget @KingBrodd's army of choice didn't you...... NOW LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE UNLEASHED UPON US!!!!
  8. Probably, I mean looking at the lore for all of Tzeentch's dedicated warriors and "heroes" across Warhammer it's clear to see that the guy loves to stab himself in the back.
  9. Hey everyone, out of curiosity do we have any beasts of chaos players in this thread? If so how are Slaangors doing in your games? I'm planning on running three of them in a list and am curious.
  10. *Muffled Subway Announcer* Now arriving at Sotek's Tail Station, Starborne and Coalesced connect at Sotek's Tail Station. Next stop, Itza Plaza. Please stay clear of the doors.
  11. I would like to point out that in the Nagash Trilogy there is a Nehekharan city that hires Lizardmen mercenaries to fight in their armies. Besides, I have four little brothers, you don't think I can hook one of them with this army when they're a bit older. Don't worry lady @Enoby and @KingBrodd, my name isn't going to change unless GW decides to unveil a new Chaos Dwarf vs Tomb Kings box set featuring Cathayan Monkeymen mercenaries. @MitGas, you should be fine since it's an army of magical killer lizards, though you may lose some favor due to the Lizardmen believing in a strict hierarchy based on genetics..... that's some tau Khara right there.
  12. False, you need to be reading the book "White Fang" by Jack London while watching Balto and building a Space Wolves army. Then, when the moon is full you have to shout "@Whitefang!" three times ala Beetlejuice and he will answer your summons.
  13. ..... You know, if GW doesn't make it so that we can play Seraphon/Lizardmen in both TOW and AOS with these new kits, I might seriously stop being this hobby. Every single new kit so far has been absolutely breathtaking, from both a design and paint-scheme point and my inner five year old is screaming DINOSAURS!!! non-stop lately. The eyes are what really sell this guy for me, he's clearly gazing into the future of the mortal realms and predicting the return of LONG LOST NEHEKHARA AND MYSTERIOUS ARABY! That, and he's understanding his insignificance in the Great Plan and is about to drop a comet on some poor warmbloods to compensate for it....
  14. Sorry I didn’t post anything yesterday, Nurgle decided to infect my tomb-city with a rattling plague (I have a cold &sore throat). First off that new Slaanesh lord just screams “are you not entertained?!” in the best way possible. I hope he gets some kind of synergy with the symbaresh Twinsoulssince they’re all about their egos. The Khorne lady is a miss for me, as she’s seemingly a sorcerer in a faction that hates sorcerers. However, I’ll leave the actual complaints to the Khorne players in this thread. with these battletomes revealed I wonder what they’ll show at Adepticon this year. My dream is for TOW to get previewed, most likely some Kislev models cause they were the first faction shown, alongside new chorfs. We know CA is gonna drop that new dlc soon, so it’s only practical for GW to capitalize on it. Oh well, here’s hoping the next two weeks are awesome!!!
  15. This is a Warhammer setting, odds are they need that extra skull so that they can fire their skull cannon.
  16. I personally hope it’s Soulblight and Ossiarch tomorrow, alongside a battlebox. While it is not ideal, both are the closest I can get to LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!! Seriously eBay is getting ridiculous! There’s one guy who’s selling a Tomb Kings BOX for 75 dollars….. that’s just dirty……
  17. @MitGas but of course Tzeentch is kicking booty, his might is so powerful it turned me from a pure son of LONG LOST NEHEKHARA!!! into the Chaotic Mummy I am today. YOU WERE MY BROTHER @KingBrodd!!! AND NOW YOU ARE AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE MANY TZAANGORS TO PAINT!!!!
  18. HOW COULD YOU @KingBrodd?! You who represented plying a faction for fun, have fallen to the meta side!!!
  19. Beasts of Chaos dominating the meta? What parallel dimension did I fall into?
  20. We've already seen those, it's the squat and the Arkanaut Admiral holding a model ship.
  21. Something 40K related most likely, I’m hoping for the Vashtorr book and battlebox.
  22. Yeah, I won't lie The Great Book of Grudges has been a pretty decent source of news/rumors (even if he's a bit biased towards fantasy as a whole). But I didn't know about the Valrak rumor putting TOW as a late 2023 release, but it makes some sense given the recent articles celebrating the 40th anniversary of Warhammer as a whole. Let's take what we know so far: GW has been somewhat closely working with both Cubicle 7 and CA Games (particularly Total War) to "update" certain parts of the Old World. This has expanded and reworked the lore of certain factions that were pushed to the side, with Cathay, Ind, and Khuresh benefitting the most from this deal. CA has also integrated characters and lore from "one-off" models and games, such as the vast majority of the Vampire Coast Lords coming from the Dreadfleet game, and are allowed to create new characters within certain limits. CA and GW have confirmed that Kislev will mostly look like their TWWIII roster, minus the named characters due to the time difference. Finally, we have Chaos Dwarfs inbound, at a time were GW has increasingly been teasing Hashut and his worshippers in AOS..... Meanwhile, Cubicle 7 is currently working on a Lustria Expansion for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, which has teased extensive lore updates for certain cities and Lizardmen culture. The book will also look at the Vampire Coast, and their glorious leader Luthor "Jack Sparrow on Crack" Harkon, as well as the Norscan Settlement of Skeggi. GW has been teasing us with new Seraphon (Lizardmen) models..... What I'm trying to get at here is that if we can't integrate half of the new Lizardmen Models into TOW, then GW has kinda dropped the ball on this one.
  23. I am tempted to hire one of these codewrights, I have quite a few bones to pick with a certain Usurper.....
  24. *Sad Mummy noises* I see...... Forgive me as I must now rewatch the first two "The Mummy" movies back to back to alleviate my sadness......
