Which one is better of the two, and why?

Yes, because you can’t beat awesomeness…

I have a lot of Terrorgheists, because I also run quite a noble court of proud knights. For Gravelords a doubledragon list is a nice option… But a Gheist or two could flesh out an avangori list pretty good.

so in the end, a Dragonlord could easily dismount and the beasty be proxyed as gheist 🤷🏿‍♀️

The faction is in a good place overall, with several builds showing promise,

    QfT +1000 !!!1!!

while the overall fluff is not in a good state for AoS in regards to oldhammer, the sheer diversity and valid options for casual games is just awesome.
And while you might struggle to compete against top tournament 4 mega SoB lists 🙄 there will be threee totally different and interesting GLSB lists going wild in 4-1 tier.

Almost every unit is usable and even BlackKnights are getting discussed again.
Great time to be Dead 🧛🏻‍♂️🍷💀👍

Ty... yea seems I need to play the knights :(

    Look above…

and as I said, you have PV or the VloZd, both are singular and independent pieces that fit in almost any list you can write. The prince might need another melee hero nearby to get the most of his CA, while the VloZd doesn’t have one, but might like a trait or artifact.

Just built any type of 1,5k list you like, from any dynasty, throw the big boy on top and worry about min/maxing later…

Ive seen lists with 10-15 blood knights but are there other good lists which includes Vhordrai ?

Since Prince V shares a model with the VloZd, there are a bunch of lists… and both models are interchangeable, depending on preference, artifact and trait considerations

Classic Vyrkos as a bigger faster Radukar variation, with belladamma. with neffi in blood, with Manni in wherever, even beside Nagash things are possible. With a vengorian and a bunch of gheists
And of course classic kastelaii double dragon 🥳 V and VloZd, 4x5 knights 2x10 dogs, not very competitive but trve

This could of course work in a narrative game, yet I’m not sure why a named vampire lord, who very likely is dedicated to serve the most hated dead-thing Nagash, would join the skaven, who clearly have killed his master once.

🤔 maybe Manni has a bad relapse of backstabbing (and vhordrai got himself cursed too, iirc the fluff, for trying to ditch Naggis corpse to the chaos gods)

they were used to charge in / retreat 2.9” away and reduce my pile in to 1” so I couldn’t get into melee.

How did they successfully charge and then end up retreating to 2.9“ away? .5“ is successful charge and the pile in needs to end same or closer?

or is it some unknown cheese?

I actually don't think horrors have much of a spot in the current meta.

    12hp with a 5+, 3attacks without rend?! New meta incoming 🥳

But as you said, against zombie like mobs they shine a bit 🤣

The Black Knights are serving a simple purpose, fill a battle line slot as a highly mobile screen that can die and come back and screen again, thats it.

10 wolves are probably twice as good and only 15 points more… (1965) that leaves room for the burning head for some AoE missle, but beware of the rr1 to hit aura

Nagash & Neffi should make a nice and tough combo, although pretty CP hungry. With the gravesite you can call forth the guard pretty aggressively.
the list sounds funky, but of course, you’ll play with a fickle god-model

what kind of build do you guys think it's the most competitive for singles events?

Depends heavily on your skill set and preferences…

Nagash list is still brutal if played right.

Double Dragon with knights and wolves.

Well balanced Radukar with grandma list…

SBGL has too many options and synergies for a „take 4 megas and win“ approach 🤷🏿‍♀️

but 20 zombies were in front of 30 skeletons

There ya go… got all tangled up during movement. That ain’t happening if you only have two models on the board 🥳

Maybe Bloodknights would have been better 🧐 more magical debuffing 🧙‍♀️ or 2x bats as cheap mobile screens work better that a wolfpack aaaand the scenario where the real deal is brokered on one objective certainly favors SoB.
That’s why I think they are easy mode

Lastly would be the royal jester. I see a some sort of nasty Courtier that is an ambushing alpha strike hero.

I rather see him as a 4++ pass wounds bodyguard or a small debuff hero / wizard (Enemy is -1 to hit / reroll 6s to hit within 6“)… like a corpse cart but funny and on 32mm

  12. 11 hours ago, Holy_Diver said:

he puts 2 mega in the center, in turn 4

Charging Radukar and 20 gg into a mega should delete it?!? Why ist it still alive turn 4?

There you have it: SoB are just easy mode. too good in casual play. Just throw them on an objective, open up third round of booze and applaud your own brillant tactics 🍺🥳👍

but nonetheless, A+ for effort and good try to bring him back to the dead side.

I don't think that I want them touching us until they have a bunch of hot new models that they want to push with powerful new rules.

Not sure if I want them touching FEC any time soon.
the rules are ok, the flavor is great and with the different courts you can play a decent variety of lists, even with only the small model range.

maybe another intermediate hero and maybe a second ghoulish option.

But I rather give it a hard pass, before they come up with some stupid cash grab scheme and more or less invalidate my current army… and / or give us the cheeselords treatment and nobody want to play anymore because imba op

One question about a beatstick general in Vyrkos: what's the difference between vengorian and VLOZD?

IMO : the VloZd kills with a charge, while the Vengorian grinds…

the one gets extra rend the other ignores rend 🤷🏿‍♀️

Grave Guard are really good, but hard to use because of their low mobility.

Might be a thing to summon from the gravesite…

if you play against him, consider all the nice debuffs we have, maybe a mortarch (Neffi -1 to hit or Manni coward-teleport) and two necromancers  (decrepify/ fading vigor) also vile transference

But if your buddy has started playing SoB and likes it, not much you can do about it.

I don’t mean that disrespectful, but that is something you can do after the second beer 😇 three Megas and three crushers trample forward aaaand done. No aura buffs, no blocking and screening, just charge forward and watch your opponent struggle…

and once he‘s all in for that type of helterskelter play, going back to deep thought positioning, spell roll hopes and target priority charge anxiety… 🤣👍

don't see any grand court choice in your list though

Let me take a close look at my coffee stains:

his court is „feast day“ for free feeding frenzy each turn… got a bit nerfed from 2.0 since you can only issue it once (not on two units), buuuut: free choice of general trait and artifact. And while you can only feeding frenzy once per turn, you might as well do it for free (still 8-10cp saved during 4-5 rounds of fighting) …

    (☝️🧐 no AlloutAttack/Defense allowed)

The other „grand courts“ still have merits, but even before I often took „feast day“ for wizzard infernal general and dermal cloak for the regent (and feast day spam)

hollowmourn was cool for smashbat (varghulf) lists, run&charge, extra damage, extra attacks, but AoS3.0 prevents the CA piling, not sure how good it still is

blisterskin extra speed, CA for 4+ CP and -1 shooting artifact is very good, but a tough decision against the pure power and free choices of the generic court

morghaunt I tried, but my 120 ghouls were totally steamrolled by a Waaagh of IronJawz

gristlegore, still nice, but as above, the first strike trait might be cool, but an unmounted beast is not really worth it and the artifact nothing to write home about.

to give your main caster (regent) +1 to cast for the essential buffs, you’ll need an artifact 🤷🏿‍♀️ Battalions are tricky to implement and the less drops the better

As much as I hate getting piecemeal rules from WD that is probably what will happen for stuff like the core battalions.

Need to sell those WH+ subscriptions 😇

the Soulblight book was sort of a beta test style book for 3.0.

With all the production hiccups and in your face explosions, AoS 3.0 is a bit messy… it feels a bit like LoN, when it dropped before 2.0

But as many stated above, we have all the tools to compete at top level, Mortals, Monsters and Mobs…

the rules are very nice and interesting, we have a lot of variety to play around with. looking at other factions (obr, nh) we transitioned very smoothly. Sure we didn’t get the cheese package like SoB, but we can field most lists and not be outright banned for friendly games 😇😈

Could you please give us some intels on how you played this list?

My tea leaves tell me: smash bat with a bigger bat …

stare hard at your opponent, find something juicy, declare finest hour for GkoTg #1, supercharge said GkoTg, send him crashing into poor opponent, feeding frenzy… post intermingled smoke, prepare for round two

rest of the list stays very defensive and tries to score

trouble might be defensive anti-magic (teclis/Nagash), denying the buff spells.  although bonepope probably dies to a GkoTg or is almost useless after the frenzy

    @Dejnar : guessed rightly?

I want to make sure GW is actually making this move and it isn't just something to do with updating their website.

The way I see it, they will not bother… no update for the existing warscrolls and the new models won’t have warscrolls.

I must say, the current situation is rather depressing. As stated above, they really put in some effort to make AoS easy access and beginner friendly. Of course with the usual power creep and the kinda mandatory yearly GHB subscription.
But WH+ is a big jump, with freebies lost and added costs, heavy handed move against content creators, kinda reveal of the ugly truth, the „real“ vampire face…

AoS childsplay is over, no more pony riding and cottoncandy.

but the alternatives are out there, a lot taking a look at Star Wars and all the other stuff… other mothers have beautiful daughters, too (and sons; and divers). During their muck up before AoS, competitors started to gain traction, alternatives are not as ridiculous as back in the 90s and even then, Rackham with Confrontation really did cool things… hordes & warmachines

i fear this general behavior will come around to bite them, even if the calculation X subscriptions equals Y money is easier to rate than „treat your fans with love and respect and they will support you 4evar“

To keep the area of effect up I decided to try 2 corpse carts in this list.

    Sounds interesting…

I think the wording „ unit within 9“ " is a nice debuff for everything, not only ghouls. Elite going from 3+ to meager 4+ might save the day, fe graveguard with greatswords only wound on 4+, but do 2 damage, a -1 to wound leaves them  pretty much useless…

and about protection 🤔 not sure if I would bother too much. If the opponent chooses to focus on a rather unimportant debuff piece, instead of shooting the GkoTg or something with threatpotential fine.
