  1. Yeah I never liked the khemist ability either, hard to visualize and suspend disbelief, and kind of lame all together. All of my company are equipped with volley guns anyway, it was expensive but much much cooler.
  2. Yeah the gyros and sky vessels look good together
  3. So far the leaks have been very promising! I think KO will be a solid choice in tournaments in the coming years. I only hope they aren’t so powerful as to require a major faq revision haha
  4. For some people, nothing is ever good enough. Unfortunately these folks exist in abundance in this hobby. I think they are the biggest detriment to growing it’s popularity. If fewer players were insufferable, more people would play the game, and the company would have larger profit margins and greater financial incentives to take the risk of increasing model ranges. When was the last time you saw someone recommend KO to a new player? Not a strong incentive for GW to expand the range.
  5. The bad ass models aren’t going anywhere. You can still buy them. I’m mostly talking to the ‘GW hates me, I’m going to quit playing if I lose,’ crowd. Its a dice game, not an I.Q. test.
  6. Wow people, we finally have a new book and release coming our way and players are already complaining?! I remember when AoS first launched and all the hyper-competitive players left the game. Part of me wishes they’d never returned... It’s a game. Play it or don’t. Nothing frustrates me more than hearing a grown man whine about his toys.
  7. I like our infantry, a stand and shoot ability would be fun though. Mostly I think our ships are what need the most attention. KO are close to being where they need to be, minor adjustments are all we need.
  8. I think the strength to the bombers is to run them as units of one and retreat from combats you survive. Try to get off a couple few bombs and split up your opponent's attention. I like to think of them as the Duardin equivalent to a cheap spell caster.
  9. Also any means to make a ship into a hero/general would be really cool.
  10. I want to see a flamethrower unit that works like the gyrocopter steam gun, one attack for every enemy model within 3". This way we'd have a melee unit that only used short range shooting and gunbutt attacks. It would be awesome!
  11. The great thing about old models is that they are physical representations of rules, meaning you can change or delete the rules and the model still exists. I've converted every model in my Wanderers force (and from my Woodelf force before that) and it really doesn't matter if they count as Glade Girls or SOTW, or something else newer and more exciting. An battleline aelf with a bow is all I that need, and I'm 100% confident that we'll have a warscroll for that purpose. Here is one of my 'Glade Girl' captains:
  12. The KO are a post-monarch take on Dispossessed. These dwarfs are classical liberalists and the code represents their take on 'rule of law'. They are freebooters, they sell their guns to the highest bidder to acquire more personal property and reputation. They debate and negotiate before they lock and load. Their cultural emphasis on profit has resulted in the Kharadron Overlords developing new technologies that are the envy of the feudal and barbaric societies that inhabit the realms. A KO sky-vessel descending from the clouds is the single most terrifying sight the savage races can witness. The aerial assault cannot be countered by simple slings and arrows. The only choices are to flee in terror or die during the aerial bombardment. Either way, they always surrender the booty!
  13. Kurnothi look like they all have tails. We've gone to far. Wanderers are now in 'furry' territory.
  14. Here's an unpopular opinion: I love my Glade Guard (I have 80) but the gw sculpt is goofy and their warscroll doesn't really fit their theme anymore. Bodkins are awesome, but the 20+ models required for 'peerless archery' clashes with the idea of an elite/fast/sneaky/guerilla shooting force. They aren't really 'guarding' a 'glade' anymore either, fluff wise, they be 'wandering' the realms. Similar to what Aelfric said above, I just want a quick glass-cannon type elf archer.
  15. If they drop glade guard they should replace it with something that serves the same purpose.
  16. I wouldn't mind new GG sculpts, but we have to have a basic archer unit that outperforms other basic archer units. Arcane Bodkins are a great ability, but smaller units with better to hit or range would be an improvement. I agree the GG models are old, I kit bashed all 80+ of my Glade Guard.
  17. Mainbody is all about the ship! The Endrinmaster can repair d3 damage and the riggers can repair too. I went with a custom skyport.
  18. Winged aelfs have been rumored for awhile, but I think most speculated they'd be 'light aelfs' and a replacement or addition to the old High Elfs. Eagle hybrids are a much cooler idea than angel aelfs. I like the centar idea, especially centars with bows being ridden by Aelfs with bows! I mostly hope I can still use my archers and basic theme after the new release. As long as I can do that everything new will be a big bonus.
  19. I'm pretty stoked for new Wanderers, albeit these are for Underworlds. It might give us a glimpse of what's to come, or maybe not? Either way I'll be happy to have our powerful shooting phase and basic theme continue, anything else added to the range will be a bonus.
  20. So I came in 3rd place in a Meeting Engagement tournament today. Would have taken first if I had beaten the Idoneth Deepkin, but I lost the priority roll for turn 3 and things went south quickly haha. I tabled some Skaven in my second game. Biggest trouble came from the Hedonites, I couldn't get the Keeper of Secrets in range of my guns, but then it moved/ran/charged 36+ inches and took out my Ironclad with a double combat activation. The boat almost made it. Overall a great event! Spearhead: 10x Company w/volleyguns Mainbody: Endrinmaster, Ironclad, 3xRiggers w/guns, 3xRiggers w/guns Rearguard: 10x Company w/volleyguns 980pts
  21. Looks like we are getting new skirmisher models!
  22. We've always been able to shoot spellcasters but now that the top lists are summoning-heavy our ability to snip is a more valuable tactic. That doesn't mean we will win all the big tournaments, but we are considered a 'hard counter' to that playstyle.
  23. The meta is expected to shift in our favor because we can shoot spellcasters.
