  1. I'm thinking Imperial Guard and Craftworlds for the two codexes coming in December. Looks like a relatively big release in October for AoS orrrrrr some specialist game stuff clogging the month up. I'm thinking maybe one small release for aos in November followed by a larger release in Jan / Feb (we normally see one). I would be pretty disappointed if we only get 3 post 3rd ed battletomes before the end of the year.
  2. Here we effing go. Faction specific battle tactics, grand strats and battalions that give the factions that have them an advantage while the rest of us have to wait. 9th ed 40k power creep here we come.
  3. If only there was some kind of free Wikipedia style website with all the rules for AoS and 40k. That would be incredibly useful.
  4. I wondered if maybe they were part of a pitch for the next edition starter set. GW decided to go in a different direction, but thought the sculpts were good so found a way to release them. I'm also interested to see how they approach whether aos models can be used in ToW. The main issue to me seems to be rank and file. If you need the models to fit in ranks on squares then it does restrict their freedom a lot. At the same time that could hinder design for aos as no one wants our new sculpts to look "blocky". The fact that the new Warhammer Total War seems to include blood warriors for the Khorne faction, which didn't exist in WHFB, to me suggests they are open to allowing it.
  5. Kind of random but I wonder what the story was / is with the StD start collecting having all new kits and nearly 2 years later there being no new individual releases for chaos warriors or knights.
  6. The surprise is a Lumineth x Stormcast hybrid model called a Stormcast Luietenant.
  7. Everyone get hyped for Duardin Gholemkind then it turns out to be some random mercenary for Necromunda.
  8. It isn't a range though, it's an expansion for Orruk Warclans. An existing army just got a load of new kits. I doubt anyone is going to play pure Kruelboyz unless for some reason GW makes them vastly superior to the other Orruk units.
  9. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. I've been so hype about aos 3 enjoying the new rules etc (but nervous about the state of the meta with godhammer going on but w/e). Give us some content to keep the ball rolling.
  10. Here is a rumour. I've heard the aos app has been canceled / indefinitely delayed and will not be launching in either a beta or complete state as part of wh+.
  11. Obviously I'm a massive idoneth fan but I can live without a second wave major release. Ideally I'd be happy with a hero + endless spells or a new sea beast of some kind. It feels like for the first time since the book came out we've reached a point where Idoneth are really well balanced. They are sitting right in the middle of the pack with the ability to do really well, but also no obviously overpowered units. You can also make a case for pretty much every unit in the book now. Really it's only Lotan, Aspect of the Sea and the Soulrender who have no place in lists at the moment. I'd be happy for a battletome that tidies up a bit, maybe adds some more distinctive enclave abilities and some more appealing spells / artifacts.
  12. Ahem. ****** LRL. Second waves for all other armies before they get another expansion. That is all.
  13. Also whitefang implied it to be false via reactions when it was first posted. Literally 99% of rumors from /tg/ are people wishlisting or trolling to spend some time between racist / xphobic ****** posting.
  14. I would basically agree. I personally think arcane tome is nice just to have access to an unbind. Being able to turn the eidolon into a monster can be handy too. Not saying cloud is a bad choice though.
  15. Volturnos is marginally better than a normal king in my opinion. The main reason being his CA allows you to give 3 units +1 attack instead of just 1. His reroll aura is bigger, but how useful this is varies as several enclaves give army wide reroll 1s. His magic defence and bravery are helpful also. A standard king does allow you to get a command trait, an artefact and a mount trait (Volturnos cannot be given a mount trait despite what warscroll builder says). He will also likely do more damage when fighting especially if you give him the polearm option. Both types of eel are very good options. Right now I would advise going for Ishlaen to start as they are useful in pretty much every list, whereas Morrsarr have lost a little value lately.
  16. So played a 2k 3 game event today with the list I previously posted. Game 1 was vs seraphon thunderlizard. It was a pretty bad match up because their whole army reduces damage by 1. So the sharks all become damage 1 instead of 2. It was a very close game. I had some bad luck in that he rolled double 6s to stop me getting my extra vp from battle tactics. I also made a bad play on turn 5 where I could have run away and tied the game instead of fighting. Final score was ID 23 Seraphon 24. Game 2 was a landslide against stormcast. Opponent was tabled by turn 3. Game 3 was vs a slightly odd Std list using a lot of undivided models and belakor. It started very well for Idoneth, then wobbled a bit turn 3 and then finally ended quite comfortably as a win for ID with the opponent having been tabled. My main highlights Reavers are immense. Being able to blast rapid fire on 3s and 3s with some rerolls and then unleash hell. They really put a lot of hurt. I can imagine a block of 30 would be nightmarish. The storm eidolon is great with a caveat. He will pretty much never die. At one point he had taken 10 wounds, but by the time my opponent got to attack him again he had healed 7 of those wounds. You can easily get him on a 2 up ignoring 1 rend with a 5 up ward. The caveat being that he only counts as 2 models and he can struggle for objective control if fighting a monster who counts as 5. Leviadon is fantastic. Pretty much mandatory especially given how many ways having a monster is important. The Tidecaster being able to reroll casts but more importantly reroll unbinds is nice. I wouldn't take her if not for reverse tide, but she pulled her weight.
  17. Then maybe GW should stop writing books that are only ready for the bin. I think the only reason there isn't more uproar about how bad a job they've done with Slaanesh is because of how overpowered Slaanesh was previously. There is nothing more demoralizing than painting some models you love only to see them have embarrassingly bad rules on the table. Likewise sin guy is just as bad. There is no world in which Tzeentch or Sentinels should exist. Of course there will always be overpowered armies, but the existence of NPE rules that have no counter play shouldn't exist to begin with. I don't really see why we shouldn't be holding GW to account and showing our annoyance as players at the balance issues which exist. I will leave it there.
  18. We can see what's happening Bin guy writes Orruk warclans, enjoy your 4+ saves on heroes and +1 to hit wholly within 12 auras. Sin guy writes stormcast, dragon on 2+ save ignoring rend, 14 inch fly and 3 cast wizard that can reroll failed casts. Dragon cav with a base 3+ save. Hallowed Knights give the whole army 4+ ward against mortals.
  19. I agree, but I just painted 4 sharks and I'd like a break from playing eels. It's funny how much sharks have changed in the last year. When I bought them they had the old warscroll and were only 100 points.
  20. I'm running this list at a 2k event this weekend because I was curious to see how reverse tide with some msu reavers works. I also wanted to use all my sharks for a laugh. Not expecting to win but will give some info on how reavers perform in a real setting. Fuethan Eidolon of Mathlann Storm 330 Arcane Tome + flaming weapon Tidecaster 105 General - master of magic Abyssal darkness Allopex with net 125 2x allopex with harpoon 250 2 x allopex with harpoon 250 Morsarr guard 195 Reavers 115 Reavers 115 Thralls 120 Leviadon 380 Ancient
  21. Ok fine. F U too. (Joking btw, but you did forget something)
  22. It is a bit weird that they seem to have so many types of killa boss and so few troop options.
  23. Ah yes bin guy and sin guy. I live on fear of bin guy writing the next idoneth book.
