Not to mention how the total lack of named heroes leaves the faction sorely lacking in personality and with almost no presence in the overall game narrative since they don't have any important figures to carry the torch.

Actually the current FEC Battletome gives aristocratic titles + names to each FEC hero (e.g. Marquis Gruelsop and Retchbile, Lord Marrowbroth, Liverbelch, and Chamberslough, Baron Gizzard). They will probably stay in new Battletome or at least they will probably keep same logic. But I agree with you: having already described these named heroes in the FEC lore, GW could release new model for them :)

@Espy85 in order to use homebrew the key is not making your opponent feel like it is broken or too cheap. Getting an 8+ WoT is way to strong imo. The reason for going for healing and bravery bashing is that it's not too strong and thematic. Having a large graveyard that has guaranteed healing/reviving that can't be counter (like deathly invocation) and cats ausing additional minuses to bravery makes sense for a spooky graveyard. The minuses to bravery allows some weaker attacks, abilities and units that rely on lower bravery means that lesser used models get to see some table time, at least that's how I imagined it.

Not too gross but actually helpful.

Maybe you could link the new rules to some specific parts of the terrain (e.g. the statues, or the individual mausoleum). And then give to these specific parts some Wounds/Save that the opponent could destroy in order to remove the bonus, or even to revert the initial bonus to a malus (e.g. a haunting spirit reduced to almost-nothing because he lost his link with his special/cursed tomb stone now cleansed by the exorcist from the opponent army?).

  3. I love the Chainghast model. But I recognize that a unit of 2 costs a lot (80). Despite this cost I would be very interested in testing a whole 2k army of 32 Chainghast throwing their Ghastflails (15", D3 , 4+ reroll 1s, 3+, -2, 1) at the ennemies snared in Soulsnare Schackles :) This could deliver at 15" range in average a total of 21 wounds to be saved with -2 rend, per shooting phase. However as shooting is rare in NH: I can't find any good synergy/bonus/combo to add. Any idea? (yes i know: it looks stupid, this is exactly why I would love trying it :D)

I'm considering a bit of a fun 1k point list:

Vampire Lord on horsey - 140
    5xBlood Knights - 240
    5xBlood Knights -240

    20 Chainghast - 160
    20 Chainghast - 160
    5 Direwolves - 60

Thinking it's got bodies for objectives / being anvils and then my blood knights to provide the painful hammer!! Though no endless spells which is a shame but 10 blood knights at 1k should prove fun.

You mean 20 Chainrasp, not 20 Chainghast I guess?

I am actually dreaming of an army of ~20 Chainghasts (8 units of 4 models) blasting enemies at 15" but this is more for a 2k list.
