SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted May 30, 2017 Good morning. Just signed after reading some of the posts and liked what I saw. I'm currently building a Stormcast Eternals army and at the moment have a 1000 points. Anyone near Manchester and plays let me know.. But be gentle I'm new to the game haha
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 2, 2017 A fellow Mancunian! Welcome to the boards. If you ever see a 40 yr old with a Khorne army being tabeled by an 8yr old with a seraphon army in GW Arndale or GW Bury that will be me ?
Greggers 9 Posted June 2, 2017 Hello there! Another Manchester based player here. I tend to get over to element games more than GW arndale. Currently building up an ironjawz force.
SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 2, 2017 Hello to you both lads! Yeah I only really know the GW in Arndale. Where's Element Games? Wouldn't mind having a look. Are there any decent AoS clubs in Salford/Manc? I've only had one full game in store and a couple of Storm of Sigmar games with a mate so most likely I will get tabled by everyone ? Looking forward to having a dabble with Skirmish got my Knight Questor ordered.
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 2, 2017 Arndale is usually v busy and the staff can be a bit too hard sell. Much prefer the vibe at GW in Bury. Where is Element games?
SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 2, 2017 Yeah I know what you mean about the hard sell. Always end up spending more than planned! Just Google's Element and it looks like Stockport. Bury's not too far, is there a good amount of AoS players there?
Greggers 9 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) Yeah element games is in Stockport. Also known as the north west gaming centre. Real easy to get to. Has a huge gaming room with a ton of tables and the element games online store is based there so everything has a good discount Im not aware of any aos gaming clubs in the area.. maybe we start one! SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 2, 2017 Discount GW stuff is always a plus! What's it like for beginners there? Good vibe or hate noobs? Gaming clubs.. from what I've seen they do look a lot of fun but the one near me is more based around real history ww2 table top games, so not sure if the purists would appreciate my golden children of Sigmar. Who knows, maybe they could join the allies?!
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) I just did the same hah There is small but quite tight community at Bury with a Facebook page. Dan the manager has helped developed a really good community and there are players of 40k and AoS based here. The store just finished an AoS tourney and does regular vets and beginers events - check out its Facebook page. Thursday is vet night and can be busy and Sunday is beginers day which has big peaks at 11 and 2 for the mega battles but is calmer the rest of the time. The shop is quite small which does limit space and opps for battles if not booked. Edited June 2, 2017 by Praecautus

SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 3, 2017 I think I might check both of those places out. Always good to meet fellow hobbyists.
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 3, 2017 Sounds good. I am sure you won't regret visiting either. Thursday (open to 8) and Sat are best days to meet the bury regulars. Shop is close to the metro interchange
Mark2gb 0 Posted June 3, 2017 Hi guys just joined, have been to Element games several times but never played there myself, I buy all my Warhammer models from them now.
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 4, 2017 Hello, seems like element is popular in the region. Good to know

Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 11, 2017 Have fun, I will be at Bury with my son and his friend for their beginners day. It may be crazier than the Arndale ?
SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 11, 2017 You have fun at Bury? We played a game of Skirmish which saw my heroic Knight Questor seize a minor victory in the last turn of the game. And then had an open match with my mate, another Stormcast win ?
Praecautus 1,293 Posted June 11, 2017 (edited) We got some painting done, trialled the new 40k rules and played some skirmish. Looks like You are on the table with all the realm gates? Some nice stormcast there Edited June 11, 2017 by Praecautus
SamThaBarbarian 4 Posted June 16, 2017 Yeah I've seen the new 40k rules and it looks a lot easier to get my head round lol We didn't use the realmgate rules.. too scary! Haha thanks they are my Stormcast. Undefeated with them as of yet. Bloody love the models. Then again, the Khorne models are amazing. Love a good solid blood reaver.
