Uprising
Hello everyone I have recently obtained 9 boxes of nurglings (27 bases total), and wondering what type of list could make it work? I am looking to make a 2000 point list why using all 27 of them. Thoughts, and thanks for reading.
Mohojoe
While I am unqualified to go in to tactics details with nurglings, i do know they work well at holding objectives. I would base your list around having them holding objectives if you are dead set on including all of them.
Mohojoe
Also, isn't there a battalion that lets you rain nurglings?
Taketheskull
The Nurgles Deluge formation is excellent as it amplifies Nurglings sole strength (tying things up) by allowing you to deploy anywhere on the board, with a chance of doing mortal wounds too. Sadly, this is a scenario based scroll from the realmgate wars books and can't be used in match play as it doesn't have a points cost. The Maggoth Lord, Morbidex Twiceborn, is a great companion of Nurglings as he spawns D3 bases of Nurglings a turn (again much better in open play, than matched) and gives them +1 to wound. Their strength is you are paying 80 points for 15 wounds, and partially wound bases fully heal at the end of the battle shock phase. This is great against heroes and units that can't regularly pump out 5 wounds a turn. However this is offset by having no armour save. They are squishy against a unit that can pump out reasonable damage. Their great failing is their damage output is basically zero. Unlike many other squishy units, they can't reliably reduce the opponents damage output by causing damage yourself. Maybe field in 3x units of 9 bases and invest in some hammer units to do the damage.
DarkBlack
Morbidex comes to mind. Your fleshy abundance will tarpit quite well, you need something to actually kill things (are nurglings battleline?). I'm not keen on Nurgle, but I think blight kings are good at combat, soul grinders can shoot decently, consider some pestilens artillery and get some spells going.
