Deployment and command abilities

N_Watson

Question

Not sure if this has been covered in an FAQ or not, but is there anything stopping you using the command ability for your general that is for example set up in the celestial realm.

Example

Warrior brotherhood and your general is a celestant. The rules don't say that the general must be set up on the battlefield.

Could you activate his command ability in the celestial realm, lightning strike him in the movement phase, and so long as he has units within range of his bubble in the combat phase, buff to hit rolls?

Obviously, command abilities like inspiring presence require a target, but a bubble command ability doesn't

Thoughts?

When you say you aren't sure if it's in the FAQ, you should actually still look. This is covered directly in the Age of Sigmar FAQ. You cannot use any abilities of models that are not on the battlefield.

Well excuse me for being born lol.

Hard to check the FAQ on my work PC when they are blocked, otherwise i would have.

Thanks for the patronising response though. That hasn't happened to me on this forum before...
