Nubgan
Hey guys, currently getting a Verminlord Corrupter painted up and I have looked at the model on the GW website ( https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Skaven-Pestilens-Verminlord-Corruptor ) for a bit of inspiration. My question is in regards to the armour. its got a green tinge and that's something I think I want to recreate. I was going to go with Leadbelcher followed by a couple of layers of green wash, followed by a silver highlight. Anyone else got a more accurate guess at what they have used at all? PS: Only have GW paint range, so use those please!
JackDaw
Looking at the pics online and the paint bundles they've suggested using, it looks like they've gone for a dark turquoise base colour and then edge highlighted with steel rather than metallic + wash. I'd be tempted to base all the armour panels with Sotek Green and edge highlight with a dark steel like leadbelcher then use several thin washes of green and a final very thin wash of black to tie it all together and bring the brightness down. James McPherson
hey Jackdaw, I am in the process of painting my Corruptor as well so will post some WIP pics as I go along. It's def not a metallic wash that GW scheme. Its the old Dark Angels Green which is now called Castellan Green I think, and then edge highlighted with a very thinned down layer of Castellan Green and Bleached Bone (Or Ushabti Bone) . Castellan Green followed by Straken Green is the basecoat for all the Pestilens models' robes and garments. Then it looks like the inset runes have been highlighted with something like Moot Green to add small glints/areas of interest. The metallics you mention on the outside is just a simple bright metallic to pick out the details, could be any of the golds or brighter bronzes/coppers, cant see too well Here are some other nice examples of peoples work on the Facebook group Age of Sigmar Fans credit: Massimo Brunelli credit: Hayley Barton credit : Jacob Back
James McPherson
sorry this should read Caliban green for the corruptor armour, it has a bit more blue in it than Castellan green
