I'm struggling with the timing on the split rule. I understand I make new horrors based on casualties taken in a phase. What I don' understand is what happens if you take casualties and then the unit is wiped out.
For example:
Pink horror unit loses two guys to melee attack one.
Loses another two to melee attack 2.
If combat ended now i would pay my fifty points and set up 8 blues. I get that.
What happens if a third melee attack comes in and wipes out the remaining 6. How many horrors can I set up? Do the previous casualties come into consideration? The unit wipe rule allows me to set up a whole unit immediatley but based on the unit size at the point of extermination. Are casualties taken previous to that rendered void?
Similarly, can I choose to use 100 points to set up a 20 strong unit or is it limited to units of ten? The faq states you can add blues to a unit up to ten at which point excess ones are lost, but is that written on the assumption only 50 points were paid?
