A New Constellation Appears

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my little blog here on the Grand Alliance Community. I’ll be using this as a army blog with WIP shots but also artwork, fluff and perhaps some batreps.

To start this off, a little introduction about my love for the Seraphon. You’ll all be known with the childhood love for dinosaurs. Well, the same goes for me. As a kid I was big fan and was a collector of anything dinosaur. Many years later I got a Games Workshop 2006 Catalogue from a friend, the Lizardmen range quickly caught my interest and rekindled my childhood love for dino’s. I was amazed at the models, the bright colour they were painted with and just loved the Aztec vibe they had. When I finally start to jump in to the Warhammer hobby with a bunch of friends we started playing 40k, but those blue lizards never left my mind. With an other friend I tried to dabble into the 8th edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles (I bought a Saurus Guard box) but to start with a high model count was too daunting.

Then Age of Sigmar dropped. Many reactions were very negative but I tried to look on the bright side and was pleased that you didn’t need a large force to play a few games so I bought the Lizardmen Battalion box. My friends and I played a few games and we thought it was pretty fun. We left it alone for a while and returned to 40k but the last few months we’re back in AoS! Now I’m dusting off my Lizardmen- sorry; Seraphon ;) and starting them in earnest (well, when the Skeletons are not demanding attention)!

Here are some Lizzies I’ve painted already:

Yes I went for the standard blue colour scheme but I love it so much! Each species or unit will get their own spot colour though (Skinks for example have orange). It’s something I’ve thought of before the new fluff landed but will keep it as I like to have some variety.

Now back in ye good old days, in the Old World or the World-that-Was, it was highly unlikely to have Lizardmen in a snowy landscape. But in the Mortal Realms lizards can now appear anywhere. I do still have the urge to explain to people why they are out and about in this frightful weather. :P So in short: the Seraphon have heed the call of a Sylvaneth jungle in need. The Skaven have entered their domain and with a terrible world engine they sucked the life out of almost everything and changed the lush summer into a dreadful winter. Only the Sylvaneth are able to fight back, but they're vastly outnumbered...

I will write the fluff out in more detail but all in good time.

That's it for now, see you in the next post!

I love the classic blue scheme, the snow bases work really well with it and is a little unusual on Lizards, good work!

Thanks pal! And that's why I always have the urge to explain why they are on snow bases haha! That aside, it works so well with the blue scheme as it really makes them pop.
