  1. Ok. I got it. What's about the other questions? (I copy/paste them again)

I noticed that the gaunt summoner is....NOT in the book, only the gaunt summoner on disc! That is strange. And that make him super expensive (260pts?). I know that kinda includes the cost of the summoned unit but it is not cheap.

    Speaking about him:

    - what is the best unit to summon? is there one that is far superior to others?

    10 Pink Horrors
    10 Bloodletters
    10 Plaguebearers
    10 Daemonettes
    6 Furies

    - is there some other way to summon something in StD army?

    - pink horrors: are they any good? they are wizzards, they only cast "Arcane Bolt and Mystic Shield spells" ? they can't summon some other pink or ES?

    - I've read in the pink horror warscroll that "Chaos Wizards know the Summon Pink
Horrors spell, in addition to any others they know." Can we spam it? (once per turn, that means 10*Xturns of pinks? All my chaos wizzard can do this (example: wizzard on manticore, daemon prince etc...)?

You're looking at an old warscroll. At the start of AoS, wizards could summon daemons (and yes seraphon can summon themselves) but that was an Open Play rule/reinforcement point thing.

Those rules no longer exist as AoS 2.0 made summoning "free" (doesn't cost matched play points).

I don't understand what you mean: the warscroll was not only the one I just downloaded from GW shop UK but also the one on the GW French shop . Both say the very same thing in English AND in French. (copied above).

Could always convert or use other models like Bloodreavers or the warcry guys. I think thats what most people will end up doing.

It's not only about marauder. It is also the fact that those soooooo iconic units Warriors & Knights are not the center of our best builds. Knights are ok. Warriors are super resilient but really lack in damage. And are expensive.

TBH, the last year battleforce is really what I wanted to see on the battlefield. Nobody's speaking about the charriot. I like this piece of plastic. It seems a bit expensive (in pts). Too bad I got 3 of those dudes. lol

  5. It is really sad that the ugliest, oldest and most hated miniatures, in a range of wonderful other monsters and even updated ones (knights, warriors, lord...) are -according to consensus here -  the best units of StD book. I am, unfortunately, speaking about -shame on me - the marauders.

PS: I don't want to buy some. I'll try my best without them.

    Archaon 800

    2 xChaos Knights  -360

    1 x Varanguard  - 300

    -1930

Maybe I'go with only one "2 xChaos knights - 360" and one "1 xChaos knights - 180" and replace the sorceror with a sorceror on manticore or a gaunt sumoner on disc. this way, you hit harder and get more mobility. the key of this list I think is the ultra mobility with each unit suffice to itself and hit hard. The main problem will be screening and/or objectives (so few units/miniatures)

Overall my initial thoughts would be to take lots of marauders and buff them up with rerolls and fighting twice (from vanilla lord on foot). You could even do this by taking those units in a nurgle army with the glottkin for extra fun.

Before initial thoughts, there is the pre-initial thought which is "don't take anything before you get a better scope of the whole thing". We don't have yet the bataillons, relic, stuffs that synergize the army etc... But I just bought the new SC and the ES just because I want them to modernize my StD army (and I want this new chaos lord on beast)

    Where is my chaos gargant???

    Indeed.

maybe the rumoured AoS imperial knight giant army will give us a chaos tainted option or perhaps he’s in the points list.

I found it ...but unfortunatly he's in beast of chaos. What a shamme! He looks so damn good in a chaos StD army!

Depending on which is better wrt warscrolls, I’ll probs be going spire tyrants as my marauders

You don't get me: I'd play accolytes AS marauders ! And if you want to go further, just replace the shields and the paint scheme  so they look more barbarians/marauders (shields from skeletons for example)

Then again Slaves to Darkness is almost a Grand Alliance army in all but name since they can, practically, draw models from the whole Grand Alliance save for Skaven

....and it is a good point for me. Like a CoS for Chaos gods. That what I was waiting for!

Yup I was happy to see that for sure! When I said usable.. I didn't mean ability to put on the table. I really meant competitively viable. I have far lower hopes for that haha. I love the model, have one exquisitely painted that sits in my case at home most of the time.

I get you. I hope the same for several other entries, like the slaughterbrute, the mutalith, the chaos gargant, etc... I think that if we look at the recent releases (ogors, OBR, ...) GW did a relatively nice job making most of the units payable. Some are just a bit above the others but rarely super OP. So, I hope the same for the StD. (But I don't care about the Soul Grinder because I just hate the miniature lol. It doesn't really fit  Fantasy nore 40K...Well, just my taste...;-) )
