@hughwyeth lol yeah man. I love off the wall eye catching conversions! Which of the three spots for ethrac do you like best? I think riding on the tentacle is hilarious. On the base is the safest option if not a bit boring...

Hmm, not sure. I think compositionally the horn works best? If I recall, ethrac was the serious one of the three? I think on the tentacle doesn't quite suit in that sense?

Warhammer community published their "next week" article. If I understand correctly, these are the last releases for the new SCE and NH.

I'm surprised there's no Castigators box. Seems like they will only be available in the starter sets and the ETB box.

Yeah it's a strange omission. Perhaps they'll come out much later- I guess they're doing a sacrosanct chamber start collecting at some point, maybe they'll do multi part castigators then.

It’s confirmed with someone still at GW who lets say hasn’t been wrong yet.

But in any large organisation, people have perspectives or incomplete pictures of goings-on. I mean in the End Time, they destroyed Tomb Kings pretty much. If the sales were weak and their other Death GA offerings overlap a lot with Tomb Kings, so why keep them? Clearly there was a lack of direction in the transition period between fantasy and sigmar (which we're still dealing with today with the 7 skaven factions and excessive elf factions) but it cannot just  be that someone forgot. If it was an earner, they would be able to write some novel to bring them back.

The Battletome rule was FAQ'ed as I posted earlier. I think it's pretty clear as per the Warscroll and the FAQ that Evocators can only cast a total of four spells.

Which spells other than one from the Lore of Invigoration and Empower can they cast?

EDIT: sorry, i guess you didn't mean in a game, but have access to 4 different spells?

A guy from our store wants to tell me that evocators can cast endless spells. Im pretty sure they cant, but still have to ask. Are they able to or not?

    No they can't:

    Quote

It cannot attempt to cast any spells other than Empower, but any number of units of Evocators can attempt to cast Empower in the same hero phase.

Seems almost like a bad joke to me: Finally a reliable +1 hit and its for ogre kingdoms and on a model that isn't use able in matched ?

    Still buying this guy though.

I was thinking of using him as a tyrant? Or maybe butcher? But he doesn't have a cauldron, so he'd just be the weaker one...

What do you think about doomwheels, ratogors and hellpit abomination?

None of those are really good enough for competitive play. For casual games, they're great. The doomwheel will provide quite  a few laugh out loud moments and the hellpit, when you get a decent move (and perhaps accompanied by a packmaster) will do some serious damage. The rat ogors are decent because they're one of our few rend with serious damage units, but aren't too resilient. Also if you can't get the spire of dawn miniatures for them, the regular minis are very very bad. Huge gaps, little detail and awkward poses.

Guys need an advice, if somone would like to start Nurgle this edition. which miniature sets would be best to start?.

Start collecting. The plaguebearers and drones are auto-takes in any list with daemons in it. The nurglings are our cheapest summonable unit and can last a while.

    that's a big bummer.

My collection is more of a 'Skaven United' type and the few war scroll battalions I could bring are no longer usable.

Same for me. I never play matched play with my unified skaven for that reason.

hey. Is the battalion from the Pestilence starter gone (Sqwals Pestilent Congregation).

Cant find it in the GHB18

I don't think any battalion from any start collecting box is matched play legal.

How good is Festus? I buying models right now and I need something to go with Gutrot.

Great spell and he's only 20 points more than the rotbringers wizard. I think he's worth it for the extra abilities he brings and that spell.

    With Blade and Flail

    Points increment?

So I always run mine bell+blade because I just think of GUO as an excellent support+spellecaster character. Do you find you're doing much damage (or at least, enough damage) with him armed with the most offensive stuff? I just feel like although the sword is strong, the to hit/wound means you're getting perhaps 1 hit a turn which doesn't seem worth it to me.

As of right now, you can use Glotkin's command ability as many times as you have command points. Simply incredible to lack of fundamental common sense on the part of the rules team. I will be exploiting the HELL out of this oversight until it is corrected. Cant wait for my blightkings to roll up with 60 attacks. maybe add in the plague cyst for re-rolling every missed hit roll.

This doesn't strike me at all as a loophole/lack of common sense. It's a huge investment on your part to get this working. I'm not sure it would be worth the command points you're spending when there's likely a much more potent combo you could get from multiple character's command abilities.

Now it is trivially stopped.   Unbind at 30" really knocks the wind out of those sails.

But that's the same with all spells. It's still definitely worth taking if you have 3 or 4 spellcaster. If you have 1 spellcaster, probably not.  And it's not that hard to keep the spellcaster out of dispel range but in range of a unit you want to buff and then run+charge the unit into battle. I mean we got really lucky with the huge move we can get out of the new battletome.

This is a can of worms right now that I feel is being blown out of proportion. I will play it as I always have until the FAQs prove me wrong.

The wording is too ambiguous (gasp) for me to rearrange my approach.

Agreed. No point in panicking right now. I would bet they will errata this errata to clarify with plaguetouched. It's quite a unique combination that means it's likely the only, or one of the very few, battalions that have this issue as the RAW now stand.

It also seems after the Archaon Plaguetouched lists have been so successul, a lot of people will be spamming it. Might be fun to force everyone to try something else!

Sure,  I understand that but I am explaining why RaW things like Fatesworn/Plaguesworn/Bloodtouched warband can't be used in there respective gods allegiance. If they not FAQ there FAQ to clear it up, I'll agree.

Yeah absolutely. I'm still going ahead and building/painting my StD stuff. I can only imagine it doesn't apply to Plaguetouched, otherwise why give updated points to a battalion that cannot be played in matched play?

Q: The rules say that a warscroll battalion can include allies and that they don’t count against the number of allies in the army. Does this rule only apply to battalions that share the same allegiance as the army, but that have units from two different factions (a battalion in a Daughters of Khaine army that has Daughters of Khaine and Stormcast Eternals units, for example)? <-- This is the Question, its about untits that have an other allegiance!!!

An army can include a warscroll battalion of a different allegiance to the rest of the army, but if it does so the units in it do count against the limits on the number of allies the army can have (and the points for the battalion and the units in it count against the points limit that can be spent on allies in a Pitched Battle).

Very simply put, the warscrol batallion allegiance is Everchosen. Your armies allegiance is Nurgle, the Warscroll batallion is of a different allegiance to the rest of the army. So the units inside the batallion count towards your ally limit.

Mate everyone though the one drop/roll-off/first turn rule was simple. Turns out they meant the opposite of what they had written. GW doesn't have the best record here.

so you think that the nurgle units in this everchosen battalion count as allies? seriously i dont get it

So, only the points cost of Plaguetouched Battalion costs count as allies (140?)

I bet my Glottkin that it is like that!

last try to convince you ?

Yeah re-reading it makes it unclear (surprise for GW!). Has anyone asked on the FB page? They're normally pretty quick to reply. I'm happy to do so if no-one else has?

This seems crazy to me. I also just spent £150 on a load of slaves to darkness stuff to build a plaguetouched warband. Which now seems a waste. How is plaguetouched not a nurgle battalion?

  20. 17 minutes ago, TheUnknownGuy said:

I agree, I don't say it is not worth taking, I just say not to rely on it too much, since it is too unpredictable to cast.

I personally will take it every time with my glottkin for potential wrecking anything with my plague monk/marauders

In 1.0 i did rely on it quite a lot because of getting +1 to hit from terrain, but we don't have that now, so it can't be the core of our assault plan. Glottkin with BoP and his own spell is such a  great combo.
