I got a Vermin Lord kit for Xmas
I currently have a Warpseer. Any recommendations for a 2nd Verminlord to build? (Currently leaning toward Corrupter)

At the time, I wasn't looking to play another wargame.....I had too many.
The woman who would later be my wife, played Lizardmen. Our game group trades gifts for Xmas, and they all conspired to get me into AoS so me and 'that girl over there' would have a similar hobby and maybe start talking.
So they all got me Skaven. (IoB starter, 2 boxes of Clanrats, and a Doomwheel)
I'm not sure why they chose Skaven, beyond no one else played it and I have a Skaven Bloodbowl team.

Prismatic Palisade is good against shooting, but better at blocking charges, combat or objectives.
It can be very handy if used creatively

I feel like there is always someone in every group who buys every starter box of Stormcast to get a few models. Make friends with this person and see if they have 'extras' to spare.

Are you really saying HH and 40k is not as “way too out there” as AoS? I’ve got bad news for you...
yes. not to say that HH and 40k have their cringe moments, but overall 40k/HH fluff > AoS fluff

From a gaming standpoint, more factions make for a better variety of match ups and a better game in general (provided the normal things like faction balance and unique faction gameplay)
I'm not a fan of AoS fluff though. It's way too out there for me. I guess I have HH and 40k for that

Were there any other changes to base sizes with Skaven?
Just making sure I didn't miss anything

@5kaven5lave this link might be worth adding to the opening post
It's an archive of all the skaven models up to around 2002 made by GW - a great reference for a lot of the older legacy models that some might find interesting! It's made by Tristran (no idea if they post here too) over on the Underhive forums.
that link is super handy.
I have some of the old Skaven sculpts, either from trades or I bought to use for BloodBowl

Hey. I'm trying to re-organize my PackMasters and I have a few with the Shock Prods.
Should they be Rusty Blades or Thing-Catchers?

Anyone know a good source of giant rats?🐀
You kinda get a few from various kits (kinda like Ripperswarms from 40k Tyranids).
If I remember right, you get a few from:
Doomwheel
Plague Monks
Rat Ogors
Screaming Bell/ Plague Censor?

Has any of the base sizes changed at all?
(And have Pack Masters always been on 25mm based? I but mine on 32's for some reason...)

Can we talk about the StormFiends load out?
If I'm reading it right, we can mix weapons as long as it's not more than 1/3 of the unit.
So we could mix melee centric models with shooty models (which I dont think we could have done via the Chaos book).
In extreme, I could have a 6 man unit with 1 of each loadout, correct?

Got my 1st game with the new tome.
Dreaded Warpgale from the Warpseer + the Vermintide endless spell = a unit that can't escape mortal wounds.
Fun-fun

I think it basically means the Skaven army has, over the years, lost only three things:
1) Skaven Slaves (which to be fair whilst they fit the lore were never "that" good and always felt like poorer clan rats. Plsu the original models were all metal and never got a plastic update so people just used clan rats anyway)
I don't see it as losing Skaven Slaves, but gaining more Clanrats

Warpfire Throwers (in metal I think) are up on the Newzealand website now!!
That's a relief. I really like them in my lists

curious, how long has it been since they stopped selling the metal Warpfire Thrower?

Whats the opinion on the age old adage of Hand Weapons vs. Spears for Clanrats? The way I see it, it's burst damage vs sustain. You're always going to hit better with hand weapons, whereas with spears you're reliant on buffs to do much. From what math I've seen, if you can reliably get more dudes in combat, such as against 32mm or 40mm based enemies, spears are better. Blades are better versus everything else. Does this make sense?
Yup
Without going too deep, I bring both and use them for different things. Hand weapons go after units, spears go hunting for large based things

I still use movement trays, it keeps the game moving along.
My 'favorite' 1000 pt list uses 120 ClanRats. Too many rats to move individually and not bore your opponent to death
-
that's a big bummer.
My collection is more of a 'Skaven United' type and the few war scroll battalions I could bring are no longer usable.
-
hey. Is the battalion from the Pestilence starter gone (Sqwals Pestilent Congregation).
Cant find it in the GHB18
