I just love the Relictor model so I wanted to use him but yeah a trumpet does fit in with the cavalry theme even if you can't use it much or you can't shoot with the desolators.
Looking at your list and it's definitely something to try. I had fun with the mortal wound and spell output of Grand Convocation but it just wasnt enough really. That's a better way to achieve the result. Stardrake and Tauralon did look good together though!

I've just found that rain of stars is so erratic is not worth relying on. It's that 4+ after rolling to see how many units then it's d3. Obviously having double the chances to use it helps. I'm currently running a magna rack 720 so it's usually plenty but with the double Stardrake that eats up alot of room. I might try proxying it to see how it goes.

Drop the Relictor!
EDIT - Which also free's up a CP for spamming extra attacks.
Yeah although I'd probably have to think about going non host to get staunch and ethereal amulet or ignax etc if I'm double drakeing I'll need to play about with my case and see what I can sort out for transporting

You DO. Believe me. Believe @Turragor as well!
So that doesn't work. Turns out although warscroll builder hadn't updated the unit pts it had updated the total
So can do double drakesworn or drop the relictor and go celestant/drakesworn

Gotcha. Playing Celestial, your templar will be fragile without the ethereal amulet!
He will be but I'm hoping to keep him back and just rain of stars and shoot with his bow. Or to take out small objective holding units. With the axe they can't pile in that far either.
8 minutes ago, AdamR said:Drakesworn Templars are only 420 now - you're gibbing yourself 40 points!
EDIT - which means you could drop 2 Desolators and swap your Celestant on Dracoth for a Celestant on Stardrake!
If you were that way inclinedHaha I didn't realise warscroll builder didn't update old lists with new points.
That....that could be tempting. But do I really want to paint and transport a 2nd drake. My army fits in my case perfect right now.

keeping changes to a minimum, replacing the relictor with a veritant for 20pts would give you at least an unbind roll (you lose the possibility of healing though)
I'm not sure how much value one unbind with no bonus really is. Especially when as the list is now I should have a triumph fairly regularly. Don't get me wrong there's plenty ways to make this more competitive and for the next competitive event in march I might make some changes but I'll be more focused on my display board for that.

Drop the LCoD, take a wizard, play LCoSD or put ethereal amulet on the drake templar and that's a good list!
Yeah I have a grand convocation painted so plenty to access to wizards but I have a narrative event next month and wanted to take a LCoD to that to lead my force so fancied trying him out this weekend since he can still smash up people. For desolators I love the Drakesworn to get the +1 to hit. It could absolutely be better but sometimes you just gotta get the narrative in there. It's still going to get stomped by Tzeentch or OBR regardless really.

Will be out for a friendly drive-by at another gaming group which is supposed to be relatively competitive... has anybody thoughts, experiences or recommendations concerning this list:
Feast Day
Infernal; GkoTg; AARegent
6x/6x/6x Flayers
Deadwatch and Chalice
1960 pts
internally I am debating AAR-> Gk+2.Inf ; to summon 10 homebase guards and still have a second flayer regen. And 9/6/3 flayers...
I ran this list at the weekend and went 1-4. I faced two shooting skaven, one KO, beastclaw and Nurgle Blightings. The big issue I found is flayers can't take a double turn. Although I didn't have the chalice because it can only heal flayers and not bring them back. I loved having feast day and I'm sure 90% of the problem is my generalship but anything that even had a little bit of punch just takes flayers off the board.

Dice App
I'm gonna be in a slow-grow league, starting at 1000 points and working up to 2k. Here's what I'm hoping to start with:
Maniak Weirdnob - Brutal Beast Spirits
Wurrgog Prophet - General, Squirmy Warpaint, Hand of Gork, Juju Wotnotz30x Arrerboyz
10x Savage Boarboy ManiaksAethervoid Pendulum
1000/1000
Maybe 30 Arrerboyz is a bit mean in 1000 points, but I like having a mix of shooting and melee. Or drop 10 Arrerz and take a Big Boss instead, losing some shooting but potentially getting exploding 6s on either unit.
If your scene/opponents are fine with dice apps then that's all good but that's a fairly hot button issue. 30arrerboyz certainly won't win you many friends at 1k but if you have a competitive meta then it would probably be fine. I can't even bring myself to run one Kunnin Rukk at a tournment let alone two.

I keep coming back to this list but is it too few bodies? Its alot of points in battallions but the extra movement from icebone seems good since cogs isn't guaranteed.

Thank you
Edit: One more question. How should I position the 3 ballista? Using Ordinator for the 30" attack seems wasted. How do you position your ballista to keep the 18" attack?
Scions them into position. That's what I've been doing with mine.

So looking at a couple different lists to do something very different to my stormcast currently thinking about a couple options
Option 1
Allegiance: Bonesplitterz
Leaders
Maniak Weirdnob (120)
Maniak Weirdnob (120)
Wurrgog Prophet (140)
Wardokk (100)
Battleline
15 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (420)
10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)
10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)
5 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (140)
Battalions
Snaga Rukk (170)
Icebone Warclan (160)
Total: 1930 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 3
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 143
Option 2
Allegiance: Bonesplitterz
Leaders
Maniak Weirdnob (120)
Maniak Weirdnob (120)
Battleline
15 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (420)
10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)
10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)
5 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (140)
Behemoths
Rogue Idol (400)
Battalions
Snaga Rukk (170)
Total: 1930 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 2
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 148
I really love the Idol model and will no doubt get one eventually. I had another Idol list that had more wizards in it but it meant taking out some maniaks and I'm already concerned I don't really have enough models on the table. Also not sure it's worth spending 300points on battallions just to make it one drop but that combined with the 11inch move could be good. Also both lists have the points to add an endless spell or two. Cogs would be the obvious choice but I think I might be better off taking something that deals damage

Yes. A unit of Skinks, or an Archmage, can be placed first and then you can place a Scions unit in the sky.
Additionally, there are a couple ways to place things off the table without using the "half on" rule. The Celestant Prime, for example, can be placed off the table as your first drop, as he uses his own deployment rules. Skyborne Slayers can also still be placed off as an entire battalion on your first drop.
Thats how I figured it worked since it doesn't explicitly say. Looks like I can try out my list this weekend after all.
-
So the scions rule says you can set up one Stormcast unit in the heavens for very unit deployed normally. Now there isn't the stormcast keyword applied to what's deployed on the table. Does that mean allies count towards the limits for what can be set up in the heavens?

Because , i couldn’t see me winning without objectives. If he had just 1 hero more - game over.
Yeah but that's the point. Objectives are there to make it interesting. To win the game you had to stop your opponent scoring so you played the mission and took out his ability to win. I've just played a game where after turn 2 all I had was a wounded prime and 6 Castigators. I won becuse I played the objectives and got quite lucky. If it had been kill points it would have been over quickly and alot less fun for everyone

Had my 2nd game yesterday and I think I won because I killed all my opponents heros and he had 0 VP and BP said you need heros for capturing ? but he would have tabled me if we had continued.
That’s kinda sad tbh.
Why do you feel that's sad?

I've managed to get 2 lots of 3 Evocators from soul wars & a multipart kit. So if you were me what would you do.
1) Keep the 3 Soul wars models as is & use the box to make 2 grandstave models to boost each unit to 5 models & use the spare to build an incantor
2) As per option 1 but instead don't build the incantor. Build a new prime instead from the box set to make the units look more unique ( meaning I don't use one of the soul wars primes)
3) Combine all the models to make 1 unit of 10. Drop one soul wars prime & build the multipart kit with 5 regular models all with Grandstaves
Option 3
Then buy 2 more boxes for another unit of 10.
Charge into things and delete them.
Repeat.

Which one does average more damage?
I think its the grandhammer. But that's not accounting for the 6s doing extra damage for either of them. Although neither do great damage so it's not really an issue as far as I can see

Hey guys which lord Ordinator is the better one? Grandhammer or dual hammers?
For me I don't want him in combat and I already own the dual hammer one so I'm sticking with him. Although if I was to buy one now I'd probably get the Grand hammer because he looks cooler.
-
1 hour ago, Requizen said:
Not a bad idea, but keep in mind the 50/50 Scions rule, so you would not be able to drop all the Ballistas and Castigators (and potential Ordinator) and maybe Azyros at the same time.
As that list stands with the 12 units I would drop 2 Castigators and either 3 ballistas and Azyros or 4 ballistas and rely on the Azyros movement most likely.
If I swap the Incantor for an ordinator then I'll drop him with 3 ballistas along with the 2 Castigators.
