They're slow, and pretty expensive (ten of them cost more than any Bloodthirster besides Skarbrand!). That being said, if you can keep the unit healthy, they can mess up whatever they meet. In a game recently against Ogors they tore up a unit of 6 Gluttons, a unit of 40 Gnoblars, and a Scraplauncher.

Yep, Blender potential is very high, however, the lack of rend can really blunt them against anything with a half-decent save. They have great weapon profiles other than this lack of rend. Because of this I reckon they are best at deleting low armored hordes and high wound targets that have low armor. And keep them away from more resilient targets, because you'll be throwing a lot of dice with little result.

Oh, and back them up with some Warmongers and a Bloodsecrator for +2 attacks.

I used to and I found them super useful but then I got an idea in my head about KO Auric hearthguard and clipped them up. Especially at 100 points they are pretty useful to grab objectives and take the last couple of wounds off of heroes.

I think you meant to quote someone else.

  3. Just beginning to collect some Stunties.

I currently have 1 Magmadroth, but I just love the model so I plan to pick up another 2 and roll with a Lofnir Lodge

Does anyone have any experience with the Lofnir Lodge and how they found it went? And how does it stack up to other Behemoth based lists like BoK Tyrants and FEC TG parties?

That's pretty much what all the guides advise, which is why I'm trying to go a different route.

After some digging I think I'll try Balthasar Gold and highlight it with Liberator/Stormhost

    Thanks though.

These guys haven't been highlighted or anything yet. All the gold parts were done with a Bronze Sharpie.

Painting question. I'm trying to achieve the Vostarg Lodge look, but the metal is throwing me off. According to all of the guides it's Retributor/Liberator Armour in the same way you paint Stormcast. The problem is in those guides the end result is inevitably a lot brighter and... well, gold than on most of the website/Battletome pictures, where it seems a more toned down than that, almost a bronze or copper colour.

    Any suggestions?

    Try a Metallic Bronze Sharpie.

I swear by Vulkites, for instance, my 1k list uses the Vorstag battalions found in White Dwarf and it is a ton of fun.

    Vorstarg

    Auric Runeson on Mag, general

    Runesmiter

    3x10 Vulkites (2 picks, 1 double axes)

    Vorstarg Warrior Kinband

    Runic Fyrewall

    990 pts, 79 wounds, etc.

Also, I absolutely love the Grimwrath, i try to work 1 into my lists at 2k because he hits like 30-50 feral hogs.

What makes the Vulkites so good with that Battalion? Would not  bunch of Auric Zerkers be better?

  7. Fyreslayers are peaking my interest at the moment.

Just flicking through some lists here. Not seeing much love for the Grimwrath or Doomseeker. They not good options? They definitely look like units that would be fun on the battlefield.

Also, I know someone who is selling like 50 Vulkites. However it doesn't look like they are the go.

I would agree, although I have been running w unit of 10 to reduce deployment drops and optimise buffs.

Thanks guys. I'm running between 15 and 20 Reapers in Slaughterborn so drops aren't an issue. Just considering how many units I was going to run them in.

10 Reapers could also be a pain to move around too.

I bought 4 boxes of them/Mongers so I have 2 legit units and 2 converted. I chopped up a Magore's Fiends sprue I had spare. They are bigger than the average Bloodreaver so they fit in well. They also have some cool poses.

If they read this thread, probably none.

    Hahaha

Don't get me wrong, I love Khorne because of the fluff, the idea of Khorne, the models look awesome and they are fun to model/convert  because there's pretty much no rules; cause you know, CHAOS!.

My own mistake is probably expecting too much from the Tome. I was looking forward to some period of strong stuff to play with that wasn't 30 Bloodletters in 2017. I'm not saying I wanted stuff like the newer books DoK, IDK, Skaven, FEC etc.

I mean things like -1 rend on Skullreapers and Blood Warriors, Skullcrushers and Mighty Lord getting Daemon keyword, reduced.cost on Blood Reavers and  a moving Bloodsecrator with none of this wholly within ******. None of these are game breaking. Just QoL stuff that make sense.

You make perfect points. Because the reality is: GW games aren't a subscription service. They're not MMO/MOBAs etcs. For them to make a buck, we need to buy more products. They don't want me to be successful with models I've had for 4 years plus. And I get that. They want me to buy more ******.

I had close to 5000 pts of BoK models prior to the book, and I wager most Khorne players were in a similar boat. We simply aren't their target consumer.

I'd love to know how many new BoK players they attracted with the new book.

Brutal! Only thing is Karanak will need to get closer to the target before the next hero phase before he can summon more yappers. If your opponent is clever they will fall back or aim to gun Karanak down before he gets the chance. Still, it's a great way to redeploy if you need to.

You could Bloodtithe-move him after the teleport as both are *at the beginning* abilities (at least that's how I understand it).

Battletome is out now for a while.

Does anyone right now have any solid experience, in how to actually win?
And by winning I mean not struggling to at least have that 1 victory point, that lead to a victory.

Does anyone also have experience in how it went for them vs tier 1 armies?

There are some batreps a few pages back where a user has done very well with Mortals and 10man Skullreaper units.

Hey guys, so I'm looking at doing some big conversions, more for fun than tabletop.

Has anyone got pictures of the following (preferably with another model nearby or a tape measure so I can see the size):

    Exalted bloodthirster

    Skaarac bloodborn

    Mazaral the butcher

    Regular bloodthirster.

It would be great if someone has all of them next to each other but I feel like that would be a deposit for a house all in the one image.

    Thanks!

Sorry if hard to see much. Skarroc  and the Big dude are only primed.

Exalted Thirster is about 9in high at the axe. He's on a smaller base cause I magged him so I can use him for a WoK Thirster too.

Skarbrand and the Blood Warriors painted by my mate https://www.facebook.com/ham.solo.9026

He did mine for free, but he does good quality commissions, check his page. Based in Australia.

    Thanks, Smooth Criminal.

I was actually weighing between a warshrine and a slaughter priest and axe but decided to go with warshrine because of the movement as it matches the juggernauts and the lord.

I intend to double buff crushers on hit bring it to 3+ rerollable and -1 rend to make sure it punches through hard.

For hammers, I intend for the juggerlord to be my backup puncher.

If you are to drop a hero which will you drop and which unit will you add?

I'd drop the Stoker and the Bloodsecrator for Warmongers and a unit of Reavers.
