In my book I let the Unforged deepstrike with an unit by default, that should cover the "miners" role ;)

Coming home now then I'll translate in english my scribbles and post!

What language did you write it in?

Those look amazing! But I'm actually short the weapons, not the bodies haha. I'm trying to figure out something that might work as an alternative to the Big Stabba itself.

I saw someone using a regular stick he found in his garden with a self-made blade, sadly I don't remember where.

Maybe I'm wrong but didn't the Dispossessed also fled from Chaos? I mean the Dispossessed are those Duardin who went to Azyr with Sigmar and closed the realmgate right?

The duardins who stayed loyal to its traditions and stayed in their Karaks were all of them slaughtered by the Chaos forces.

As far as I know (from the spear of shadows book) some duardin survived in their karaks and others joined other races in azyr( now the free city dwarfs). Sigmar only got six demigod duardin working for him currently. Sadly the biggest karak founded by Grungni himself was sadly overrun by skaven. I hope that one day irondrakes will burn the pests away.

The same I used to do! Lately I'm fond on this 10 man shooting screen, you always find an use for this 10 chaps...

Kinda like on the style of archers for free people (I know, they move after deploy and thunderers do not) but having a ranged strategic unit that can screen, steal 2-3 wounds while camping a far objective or simply be annoying is kinda valuable.

I never thought of that, but just looking at them, it seems like a really good idea they don't loose out on shooting while in combat at 10 and with rend -1 they are a good stand alone unit. I'll try that tactic out when I get a chance.

  5. Every Release there is a limited edition Battletome version and I always think, that it is a waist of money there is the same text in it. But if we get a Battletome I will get a limited edition Battletome, hopefully they give it a book of grudges look.

Waiting for an update is getting so tiresome. I'm starting to wish I never bought Dispossessed. I want to read lore and enjoy the game but I can't really do that.

I get your concerns and disappointment with our current state, all we can currently do is hope for a good change in the new ghb. Just thinking about the time till then is really annoying me. For now we need to experiment with different builds and what works best. I recently picked up bonesplitterz and still come back to my duardin since I love the looks and lore. I do think GW will give us a bone as we are a still selling army with lots of old players and if they ever sell a tome and new models, like endless prayers and terrain they can be sure it will sell out day one.

I'm a Dispossessed player and we discussed this way too much in the Let's chat Disp.   Dispossessed have a strong flavor and, if you want, a legacy of lore VERY hard to just erase. I'd love a mixed tome but i cannot see them jammed with Humans and Aelfs...

I'm currently reading "Eight Lamentations: Spear of shadows". I'm half way through and Dispossessed are their own thing as well as living together with humans and other races in free cities. All 3 dwarf races are also different to Grungni. That's why I don't think we will see dispossessed only I'm free city books, but in their own battletome.

At first I thought a combined duardin battletome could be a thing but after reading the book and listening to gotreks audio book, I don't think that will happen either. Fluff wise the duardin races are only similar in loving gold, beer and their size.

Axe and shield for me as that is what comes on these old models, but if I had the choice id actually go pistol + bomb or dual pistols.

I also use the old models and im using the old thunderer champion he uses two pistols  and fits quite well.

  9. I really like the miners old and new. Currently I use mine as warriors but since I only got 10 longboards I may use some miners as more of them. All my ponies and mining carts are going into conversions like my hurricanum and helstorm batteries, you can see the beginning in my profile pic.

Just watching what other armies got (and I keep out of the picture gloomspite gitz that were a major rebrand of an old IP, which, in our scenario, would be Kharadron and Fyreslayers) I see a couple of metamorphed units for DoK, spells and terrain for Beasts of Chaos, Heroes, terrain and spells for Skaven and FeC.

We have plenty of units and I don't see us getting more, sadly. I bet on an Hero, obvsly a tome and updated rules, some runic manifestation endless-spells-like and MAYBE some terrain.

    Do you think that realistic?

Yeah you're probably right about that. One character can have a big impact, just look at the archregent.

I hope in the new tome we can dish out some mortal wounds, but not to the point of all the time and the be all and end all. The new khorne tome is just a mortal wounds bonanza. I hope that our abilities swing the other way and actually give us very strong abilities in reducing mortal wounds and damage. e.g feel no pains that include mortal wounds, abilities that halve the amount of damage incl mortal wounds, some sort of roll that even reflect mortal wounds back onto the attacker.

I'd love for dispossessed to be a solid wall on the battlefield with cannons, anvils and some teleporting unit like miners. And especially the ponies for extra biting power and dynamite.

However both me and a team of experts have analyzed the video "Forbidden Powers" and drawn some conclusions.
We have excluded the most obvious deductions such as Endless spells for Idoneth Deepkin and a new Stormcast Chamber and concluded that the only plausible option that can be hidden behind those doors is a Dispossessed throng. 🤪
If you take a good look at the video you can SEE and FEEL the muttering of the dwarves, the glitter of the King's throne and the 4 distinct figures of the bearers!
Slow down the video to 0.5 and you can clearly hear the Thane distinct voice stating the long list of grudges against Nagash.
The god mentioned in the video is clearly Grugni! (he made some mistakes, yeah...)

    It's obvious! Look at it!

If your trolling I will start a book of grudges for real and you will be on the first 100 pages. 😀

The "endless spells" as Khorne manifestations open a lot of options regarding our rune magic.

I like the idea of runes that we can invoke to the battlefield to manifest some bouble buff/debuff.

Bonus to run, morale, hit, malus to run, etc etc...

    What do you think?

I saw it on Warhammer community and thought the exact same thing. I really like the idea and would love to think of possible effects and models.

Yup, you didn't get my point. ;) I prefer Quarrelers over Thunderers.

I don't prefer Quarrellers over Irondrakes, I love the two of them. Both for differents roles and targets.

If I want something big, armoured, or whatever stone dead (forever) fast, I go for Irondrakes. They are my little short-legged nukes that are going to rip you a new one if you don't pay attention.

On the other hand, if I want something to hold an objective, flank my opponent or even hold the line (!), I LOVE my Quarrelers for that. 30 of them are bulky, tanky and quite good on melee for a shooting unit. And they can do miracles on lightly armoured infantry, with a threatening range of 24". Suppressing, capable of pinning down opponent, holding objectives and the line... What else ?

    And don't forget, that's not : 60 shots 4+/4+/-/1 for Quarrelers, but more about : 60 shots 4+ reroll 1 / 3+ reroll 1/ -1 / 1. If I want something dead or crippled, I'll make sure of it.

How do you get the reroll 1s to wound for your shooting? The 24" range including the move I suppose? Man I miss Grimm Burloksson's extra range for quarrelers and thunderers it really made them a better choice over irondrakes in some army builds.

That's one third of your budget in a 1000 points game, and if they fall below 20 models, that's half the shoots... Ain't that a bit risky?

Yes it can be risky in certain matchups, but they also hit on 4+ 4+ -1 in melee with a runelord and that saved them alot of times. Most of the people I played didn't expect them to hit that hard for a ranged unit.

I agree that thunderers can be better, especially if there is a big threat on the board that can easily get in 3 inches or kill 11 models. There just is some fun in rolling 60 dice 😁. I also play bonesplitterz and 90 isn't that much fun anymore especially with rerolls.

Let me disagree ;) Pure Dispossessed allegiance give you a lot of options letting you choose battleline and the grudge ability isn't that bad. I had issue against death (they have some orde, some 4+, some monster but no grudge could cover all the army) but in general the grudge against 4+ save is solid against most of the armies.

Free cities are good, i loved the one that let you deploy in deepstrike on table edge but i would not take 3 warriors or longbeards to legally have 3 battleline. Don't get me wrong, the podcast highlight the weakness of the army and the proposed lists are for sure a good options if you want a better shot at the objective game but, imho, you can pack a heavier punch as pure Dispo.

And the battalion suck, I would't match the required units even with a knife pointed at my back. Let alone build a list around it.

Take the video as different bell about the army, not as the absolute true. It's always good to have a wider range of opinions!

Yes you are right. I will try both and report back the one that results in the least amount of grudges.

  17. After watching the video @Furuzzolo has posted, I really don't see any real reason to play dispossessed allegiance. Until now I didn't even know they nerfed the pickaxe to now work in the movement phase. I also forgot about the free cities which can help us out. For me there was always the pickaxe which made me choose the allegiance. We only get mediocre abilities. The other big plus is the other Battleline choices, but I always take warriors anyway so there is no longer any reason for me to play dispossessed instead of order.

  18. I think for us to compete against summoning armies and other top tier ones, we need the first turn and hit really hard (many command points) and for that we need every inch we can get. I don't really like that way of playing. If it fails we need to tank the damage and try holding points. Skeleton warriors get a 5+ and a 6+ save after that and if they survive the attack they are back next turn unless we focus the heroes, which are behind hordes of skeletons.

Also, how do you work out the units attacks? Do they get 4 attacks each (2 for Handaxes, 2 for War picks) unless they have Slingshields?

You get exactly the amount of attacks stated on the top of the warscroll. In the short text at the beginning it states your equipment options. You get extra rules for two axes instead of Axe and shield. I think vulkite can reroll 1s to hit with two weapons.😁 I hope that helped you

Hey guys, new here! I slooooooooowly building a Dispossessed army...for now I only have a Warden King, 2x Runelords and 40 Hammerers (from the Avatars of War range).

Is it viable to only field armored dwarves and leave behind the Warriors, Quarrelers, Thunderers? I don't like those models, at all, and wouldn't want to be forced into getting lots of them just to get a few wins.

It is possible if you take ironbreakers as Battleline with irondrake, hammered and longboards support
