But without tournament data its a lot harder to see where the issues are.

Thats the catch 22, if you ban something because its not tested enough its not going to get tested.

At the same time, it seems... deeply questionable to, intentionally or not, use public events people pay for and travel to as effectively beta testing.

It's very amusing and sad at the same time to see so many people rate tomes like OBR as bad, yet Tzeentch and other similar tomes as good just because some %stats and internet talk told you it was OP. Can't wait to see the same people jump on the Tzeentch hatewagon as soon as the first tourney results are in.

Shows how little most people actually know.

I wish this forum had a separate balance discussion subforum so all this talk doesn't get in the way of positive, creative and constructive content.

Just re: Tzeentch, I saw people describing playing against it at some of this week's tournaments as super depressing on Twitter. One guy said it was some of the most draining Warhammer he had ever played- he'd drawn Tzeentch three times yesterday and was close to quitting even though he'd managed to scrape wins against two of them, the play experience was that negative.

nah the Brets will actually be reimagined as the talking animals.

ermine clad badger lords, longbow wielding rabbits, foxy damsels in distress, frog skirmishers and of course the most iconic of units heavily armoured snail knights... etc etc.

they actually sneaked out some of the models earlier hidden in plain sight, here for example is Sir Nutsalot riding his trusty hoblox steed.

You joke but an army of militant woodland anthropomorphs straight out of Redwall would be outstanding.

  4. A larger number of armies has an effect on what stores stock. It's already almost impossible to get hold of anything for Seraphon beside the Start Collecting box, and I can go suck on a railspike if I'm ever hoping to buy anything Skaven on a whim that isn't Clanrats, Plague Monks or Stormfiends. More armies are going to whittle down the space per army in GW shops, and I don't think that's a good thing. At the same time, I want to see more shiny new races and armies as much as anyone...

You sound like the kind of player that takes a 880* point unit of 20 buffed up Evocators and run them into a 600 point buffed up Hearthguard unit (pre FAQ), losing all your Evocators while maybe killing 10 HGB complaining about bad balance when in reality you just made a ****** play.

Imagine complaining about admins and other posters letting conversations get personal and then posting this.

  6. I think there needs to be at least some expectation of being able to play a balanced game out of the box, as it were. A game of Warhammer is no small affair. It can take time to set up (if you have to travel to a friend's place, or a shop) and definitely takes time to play. If you are lucky enough to be able to play with someone regularly and have a conversation with them about expectations, then yes, AoS is the sort of game where you can sort out some sort of balance by yourselves.

Unfortunately these circumstances don't always exist, be it for reasons of time, social pressure or unfamiliarity. As such, people frequently end up making a list and popping it down versus someone who has done the same. If it becomes clear by turn 3 that one player has a shockingly appalling power advantage, it's rarely possible to just rerack and start again. When my Nighthaunt get to the halfway point of the game and I'm busy being slaughtered by Hagg Nar witch aelves, yeah, that's dependent on my attitude to a degree, but a one-sided slaughter isn't fun for anyone in my opinion, and that's potentially hours wasted in what is supposed to be a fun hobby.

Can we ban him? He provides nothing for discussion and I personally come to this site because it's not like bols or dakka and I dont think anyone spoils the atmosphere like this guy does consistently.

I don't know, maybe TGA needs that weird spiky idiot who reminds us all how much worse it could be if we don't come together in spite of our differences...?

    UNTITLED ORRUK STORY

YES. I mean, both of these sound good  but I would read the Orruk one in an instant.

Regarding your issue with the shaman as more of a force than a character,  do he and Yann ever actually interact and have conversations? Having Yann come to gradual realisation (and maybe appreciation?) of orruks via the shaman (not in time to stop the rampage,  of course!) could help keep him as an actual character rather than just a narrative necessity.
