Ok, so taking a step back into AoS before handbook 3 in June
Just wanted to use a lot of my old models for now (mainly old High Elves) till I see see if I want to commit to a new AoS army (Blades of Khorne is my interest atm)
Atm I am looking at:
Anointed on Frostheart Phoenix (General): 280
- Master of Defense
- Glyphfeathers
Anointed on Frostheart Phoenix: 280
Anointed on Frostheart Phoenix: 280Loremaster: 140
Loremaster: 140
Battlemage: Amber: 12010 Glade Guard: 120
10 Glade Guard: 120
10 Glade Guard: 120
30 Phoenix Guard: 360
Razordon: 40
2000pts
3 Frosthearts to shut down magic and be hitty. They are backed up by 2 loremasters (reroll to hit and wound is great) plus the extra chances to up their armour if I position them right
Battlemage to buff the phoenix guard
Glade guard is cause...well out battleline options are slim and I dont have any more PG. Plus, I used them before and 30 shouts at -3 rend one off is pretty useful if I need to do wounds to something (again, with Amber mage could help 1 unit)
Razordon is...well..i had 40pts free and thought endless spells are good, I need my 3 mages to already cast the spells they have and I dont want to lose a turn casting it (unless I am missing something)
Plus, it can run around and be annoying as it can get up close with the PG and 2d6 -1 (if 6 inches) can really help
So, feel free to give opinions.
Finally, do any of my other characters bar the general get an item choice? -
Been toying with this as a really in your face list (though its more mixed order)
Phoenix guard screen the witch elves. Witch elves charge in first with the PG 2' reach behind
Loremaster for rerolls on frostheart and magic buff
Hags to buff with elves.
Could split the force if needed so each flank has 1 frostheart, 1 hag, 2 x 10 PG and 2 x 10 WE. Sisters and LM on sperate forces
Anointed on Frostheart Phoenix (General): 280
- Master of Defense
- Glyphfeathers

I need 1 in 4 units to be able to take 2 allies
So, If i swap 1 unit to a 20man, I only have 7
I need to get back into a game and see. Might just proxy units till I can get new ones sorted -
· So after re reading battle points, and this, I had to redo my list:
· A minimum of 3 battleline units (no max)
· A minimum of 1 leader but a max of 6
· Up to 4 Artillery
· Up to 4 Behemoths
· As many units as you like without a Battlefield role
· Up to 400 points of Allies
Anointed on Flamespyre Phoenix (General): 380
- Master of Defense
- Glyphfeathers

Hey Bigscaryflorister,
Do you have enough units for 2 allies? dont you need 4 per allie? (still new at AoS2 so not 100% sure)
How do the 100pts help towards command points? (again, nub question)
Do you still have to have points set aside for the summoned unit of dryads? -
I am looking at something like this to start:
Anointed on Frostheart Phoenix (General): 280- Master of Defense
- Glyphfeathers
Anoited on Frostheart Phoenix: 280
Loremaster (ally): 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Phoenix Guard x10: 140
Sisters of the Thorn x 10 (ally): 440
Quicksilver Swords: 20 points -
Might come out of gaming retirement soon to see what the AoS scene in Vancouver is like since GHB2
I ran a phoenix court list to much success (and dislike) at a local tournament of 30 people and won.
People really dont like Phoenix guard/frost hearts
In the new list im going to look at running a loremaster again (mystic shield on frost heart can just be amusing) and probably a unit of 10 Sisters of the thorn
Seems very magic shut down and monster buff which is fun
I found units of 10 PG great. Sooooo durable, and the sheer amount of attacks usually makes up for the rend issue
2000pt Returning Mixed Order

Cheers for the feedback
Totally missed the 1 spell type max. Good to know. I might change to the AM, as yeah the bubble might be effective and gives me another 40pts to play with.
Dropping the salamander gives me 80 total, enough for another character/unit or an endless spell or two.
Kinda tempted to take an assassin for 80pts to put in the PG. Can help with extra damage VS heroes
Another option is to drop the 2nd LM and rather than an archmage, maybe by a unit for 180pts to give me some more bodies . Like 5 doomfire warlocks? Gives another spell and some mortal wound damage
