  1. Maybe a new campaign for the summer for AoS with different factions getting small updates? Hoping Kurnothi might appear and perhaps Grombrindal?

Looking at the list of reveals I'm thinking something will be pop up for me- there is plenty there and I hope there are few teaser videos for stuff beyond full faction reveals.

  2. Yes but its an army box- doubling on a unit  does give a good basis for an army, I found it very useful for the Votann box as much as I wanted more units I've used the box contents as a basis for a playable army. But as a collector I'd definitely love a unit of Kroxigor in there. Double units also means you can do different builds with the units too,  when there is just one of them I tend to be a bit more precious on how I build them.

  3. I read a few of Hastings comments -these being "upgrade sprues" are what he thinks, not what he has heard is my reading of it. He says this based on there being no new bodies in the pics, I'm not so sure and will wait and see.

The new base sizes aren't a problem really as I can get around that with movement trays - no gaps between models just fill in the edges as longs the movement tray footprint matches the official base size. But if I play it will probably be with mates so not a worry really.

Hopefully there is little resin, not a fan.

  4. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the Seraphon - Kroxigor would be lovely and I'd be tempted to get some just to paint. Cities will be great to finally get a peek at - looks like there is lots of excitement coming to the realms in the next few months . Possible Kurnothi in the future has me very intrigued but I'd guess there will be no sign yet.

On the dwarf front I think/hope we might see a new Grombrindal model ahead of Warhammerfest. Also looking forward tossing what KillTeam goodness comes to my Votann, even if it is just an upgrade sprue!

I don't think Whitefang would've dropped that big a rumour about them if they were coming back only as a Warcry warband... To me, they're in the pipeline for a "main" AoS release later down the line. Maybe to close off the Era of the Beast against all the new Destruction stuff he hinted at. Maybe later. Who knows.

Oh I’d love them to get a full army release! Centaur and faun  heroes would be awesome and animals running with cavalry and faun units . I love how dynamic they are and the great manes of hair . It’s such a great theme and they could expand it in so many ways. I really want to add to my little work in progress warband in the future!
just not sure whitefang saying “something “ is coming is a full release.. could be just Kurnoth and a hunt unit for Sylvaneth.

  6. Wow! Coming back to Whitefang hinting at Kurnothi..fantastic. A little war band maybe? Other than dwarfs I'm very interested in them- have a little converted war band with centaurs and they just look great. Although I'm guessing these will be more like regular wood elves rather than the faun/centaur elves. I'm sure they will look ace and hopefully suitably wild!

On the dwarf side of things I wonder fi we might get a nice Grombrindal model for Warhammerfest this year? Not expecting much else for dwarfs at the moment [unless for OldWorld] but I'm getting my dwarf fix with the Votann in 40k.

Looking forward to seeing the Lizzies get their day in the sun!

  7. Have to say the Seraphon look amazing and so pleased that there are more kits coming for themas well. I'd be very tempted to get a few as a painting project. The cavalry look superb, the Saurus look monstrous and the Slann is so good. Always been fond of the lizards so might try painting up a few.

Nothing much else interested me- the vampire war band looks quite different, quite like the werewolf but otherwise the other factions aren't my thing, hope the folk who like those are happy with what's coming. I will say its good to see the marine lieutenant coming with options - more character kits with options the better.

Edit- looking again at the war cry stuff - Nice to see a different take again on Vamps and even though I'm not a fan of all the chaos war bands that one is a pretty interesting take on Khorne.

  8. Yeah that was great! Excited about new dwarfs! I'm happy if the release is later if they are making new models for it. Earlier rumours had them mostly just reusing old designs, this sounds more like a release like Horus Heresy rather than Lord of the Rings style. It all sounds great!

Seems like we're getting a week of reveals.

I seriously hope we get something for AoS...

Yes hopefully a variety of stuff- these space marine sets seem a little filler as there's nothing new In them but they set up for the Arks of Omen campaign. I'm guessing there will be some sort of video/preview around the New Year, Arks will likely be the primary focus but we can get some other cool suff with the bit of luck.{I'll not hold my breath for Duardin rangers for war cry...😄]

    Not if you're a Wanderer ☹️🌲🧝‍♂️

Probably going into Warhammer Old World and/or Kurnothi. and the Old World would mean there would be the full-ish range returning.

I can see the KO just getting that character - not what I would want but expected from that Rumour engine.

The list looks like a good guess and some had been discussed here.

Is it bad I want an army of classic fantasy dwarves? Never going to happen though, its not a defensible Intellectual property, too generic. Which is the same reason why I firmly believe we got Cow-Elves.

I'd definitely love a classic dwarf force that was its own thing outside CoS,  I love a strong dwarf identity and Kharadrons are fantastic I'd love toes what the designers could do for classic dwarfs in the AoS setting - their redo of Soulblight is amazing.

Kurnothi are another faction id love to see, i'd hope they would go for "wild elves " as I love the war band and made a few extra deer centaurs from the wild rider kit and they look so good.

Happy to see coS get a good revamp and keep their mixed factions though- should be exciting to see what regular humans get in the AoS setting.

It seems all the Order books are gonna be released before Dawnbringer Crusades campaign starts

Odd to see something so relatively recent go No Longer Available - although you can still get him as part of the start collecting box.

Hopefully there is some new good KO model goodness on the way..

  13. Really happy to see this place back! Now all I need is some dwarf Christmas goodness for Christmas! [some chance- but I am enjoying my 40k kin!].

The chaos army box! Looks like it will fit well with the start collecting/vanguard StD box. Like the look of that Ogor   vanguard set as well.

Its almost November - they should start talking about Christmas army sets soon - mostly hoping for an interesting Christmas model or too this year like Bugmanson. And maybe a release fo the paint box set- need to organise my paints!

I think problem is reality you can’t keep selling old as eventually model will have to be retired and not everything is likely be replaced either. There always inventory and production limits in business and GW are not immune to those limitation

i also don’t think bring back old model is a recipe for success as that seems more of a big turn off then their flimsy promises of a game.

Yeah but as others have said a lot of the old kits really hold up. They sound like they are putting a lot into creating new models- provided there are enough of these supplemented with the better older kits I think they will do well. Those boar Boyz look amazing for example, the later dwarf kits are still in use [ I love the hammerers and iron breaker kits] - freshen them with a new warriors kit [maybe norse themed], slayers and a new character or two and you are good to go. Some old kits being available again would just be holding a spot until the kits get redone. I think the first two factions will get big updates and older kits will be available direct only initially. the rules will let people use their existing armies and then they can add/replace when they get updates. My dwarf army has evolved from 2nd/3rd edition and I still would be mad keen to get new dwarf warriors, plastic slayers [which I think some folk would use in AoS with fyreslayers] and any character models and war machines. Bringing back the old kits just allows accessibility for new players [or old players to round out their collections]. I can't wait it sounds great and sounds like they are doing a lot of work into it.

Maybe. I am making an assumption about it being the 40th anniversary of Warhammer next year, so that makes sense to me to do something then. 😁

Again it’s blowing my mind. What they are proposing is a massive range of miniatures in addition to AOS and the logistics are just melting my mind! Originally I was thinking it would be like Warmaster but when they said it would be more refined version of Fantasy and similar sized models, I’m not sure. I’m half thinking they do something where we see individual miniatures like command models and adjusting unit sizes but the core models are like strips a bit like Warmaster. Would probably be easier to produce that way but again no idea.

Yes I thought the 40 year anniversary was a clear indication of intent.

It does sound like they are planning a large release like the Horus Heresy. I imagine they could initially use some of the old kits [maybe as made to order or direct order] as the basis of the armies and then add to them/replace elements with new units as they go. A lot of the dwarf, orc and High elf kits hold up pretty well for example, especially the elites as they are more recent. So they could concentrate on replacing the older core units first with a hero or two. For dwarfs I'd love to see new warriors and plastic slayers, the Iron breakers and hammerer kits are excellent. [norse dwarfs would be superb..].

The art looks like the original miniatures and did give me a good dose of good vibes..

Take in mind that not all Fyreslayers or KOs refuse to follow Grungni.

In the background, the Duardrazhal already happened (a big reunion between all Duardin factions) and Fyresalyers already have a rule that represent the conclusion of what happenedt:

We don't have a new KO battletome and we don't know what KOs are going to do with all this issue, but some new stories (mainly White Dwarfs, a few Broken Realms stories and Arkanaut Oath) have some hints in to what happened there and what's next. Some of our main cities are already refusing Grungni, even if his lawyer is Grombrindal (aka, Mhornar, Nar, etc...), but others seems to be a bit more flexible (Barak-Thryng).

Only time will tell if Grombrindal can do something but IMO, another Duardrazhal seems to be a waste of time. Their themes are completely diferent, looking to merge them seems a bit forced.

Yes I'm looking forward to the Grombrindal novel coming out to read al those stories. I'd love a fresh Duardin faction - I think there is room for High Dwarfs -emphasising smiths, armour and war machines. I think the KO are strong enough on their own and could do with a few units as well. Any dwarf developments probably got held back to keep space for the return of the squats. Hoping we will get some hints of what's to come soon.

They've consciously moved the setting out of the Varanspire in order to justify more non-Chaos warbands, so it's certainly possible. Seems unlikely based on the current teasers there is going to be any sort of Duardin warband this season (unless you count Horns of Hashut being servants of the Chorfs), but there's nothing really stopping them introducing one at some point either.

Although it is worth noting you can play Kharadron/Fyreslayer/Dispossessed warbands with the Compendium/free PDF rules, they're just not dedicated/bespoke warbands with new models.

Well there is that rumour engine with the books which definitely looks KO/Dispossessed so its not impossible. Could be a one off character though..

It sounds khorne vs Bonesplitterz to me . Both icons are shown on the map.

No seraphon on that map though so its not definitive.

  18. Warcry just got a lot more interesting! Excited to see what war bands are coming- there seraphon look interesting. Wishlist for me would be dwarfs [the rumour engine with books] or Kurnothi .

But yay to a new source of models for the different factions!
