You mean give him the point value of a plague priest or just use the plague priest' s warscroll for him?
Just use the model as a priest that's what I've done with mine as he is a cool model

What specifically do you like best? You can build several different types of list, all fun and reasonably competitive if not top tier. You can still build a very mobile, once-and-now-almost alpha strike list with zilfin (I run 2 ironclads), or you can build a gun line with lots of thunderers and Arkonaut hordes with khemist buffs, or you can build a close combat list with lots of endrinriggers, a frigate or two to get them there, and Arkonauts with skyhooks (also with khemist buffs). But if you want semi-competitive lists with KO I think you have to pick a theme and really exploit it to the best of your ability!
What in your zilfin ironclad list I'm trying to come up with a duel clad list myself but can't settle on a list I like

Gearing up for a local tourny next month. Crucible Orlando. I'm trying to put together the most potent list with what I've got. Here's what I'm thinking...would love your critiques.
Mhornar allegiance abilities
Aether Khemist x2
Brokk Grungsson
Arkanauts x20 - skyhooks
Arkanauts x10 - volley guns
Arkanauts x10 - skypikes
Ironclad - sky cannon
Riggers x12 - 10 saws, 2 grapnels
Khemist as the general. 2 drops. Brokk, 2 khemists, riggers, 2 units of arkanauts on the ironclad for 1 drop . Other Arkanaut close by for 2nd drop. 2000 pts.
Riggers and Brokk jump out and alpha strike main target. Run, shoot and charge first turn with Brokk. Single arkanauts deploy from ironclad to take objectives. Khemist general drops near 20 arkanauts to buff skyhooks and buff for rerolls. Turn 2, riggers pile in during hero phase for an extra fight if they are still alive ?.
Wondering if no unbinding is gonna hurt. If I inflict lots of damage quickly, opponent may have trouble keeping afloat and magic won't matter.
Have 2 frigates, 10 Thunderers, admiral, navigator, and 10 more arkanauts on the bench.
I like it something a bit diffract magic like you say might be a issue but also like you say you hit hard so it might not be a issue

@Gwendar Thank you for your fast answers and for the ideas! I think I'll go with 1 Grinderfist and 2 Doomflayers then as they will be mostly unbuffed. To consider your input about allies, I tinkered some more and came up with this list
Allegiance: Skryre
Warlock Engineer (100) - General
Warlock Engineer (100)5 x Skryre Acolytes (60)
5 x Skryre Acolytes (60)
3 x Stormfiends (290) - 1 Grinderfist, 2 Doomflayers
3 x Stormfiends (290) - 3 Warpfire Projectors
1 x Warp Grinder Weapon Team (80)
1 x Poisoned Wind Mortar Weapon Team (60)
1 x Poisoned Wind Mortar Weapon Team (60)
1 x Warpfire Thrower Weapon Team (70)
1 x Warpfire Thrower Weapon Team (70)
1 x Warpfire Thrower Weapon Team (70)
1 x Warpfire Thrower Weapon Team (70)
Battalions
Gascloud Chokelung (70)
Gautfyre Skorch (150)
TOTAL: 1600/2000 EXTRA COMMAND POINTS: 8 WOUNDS: 77
LEADERS: 2/6 BATTLELINES: 4 (3+) BEHEMOTHS: 0/4 ARTILLERY: 0/4 ARTEFACTS: 0/1 ALLIES: 0/400This list leaves you with 400pts worth for allies. Like that you could ally in 2x20 Gutter Runners, 2x40 Clanrats, or if you'd like to you could go for Thanquol and Boneripper just for the fun and style
Any feedback on the list?
This is list is illegal I'm sorry to say you need the caln skyre battalion to use the engine covens and arch warlock

Why would a new player care which army was the most competitive? As a relatively new player who started with BCR, I can tell you that the tiny number of models to paint, the surprisingly cheap Start Collecting box that actually contains everything you need to get started and to build a collection, and the direct and uncomplicated playstyle were all serious points in their favour.
I'm not going to win a tournament against hardcore players any time soon... but that's nothing to do with the Beastclaws, it's because I'm a new player. The games I've had with them have been really fast and really fun, and that's way more important to me.
Well said sir ?

Love this army love this army you have inspired me to paint my moulder army for blood and glory also your rat ogres are amazing I would love to do something like that but I don't think I have the skill

Hi all
I know ko aren't really top tier anymore but I don't want to give up on them as they are still great looking models on the table top and fun to paint . I'm trying to come up with a list based round two ironclads that will not get rolled in tornament games.do any of you guys run such a list or would I be better of trying some other ship based list?

Anyone got any tips on painting that dirty yellow colour of the Monk robes on the warscroll in the battletome? I guess you’d use Agrax and highlight with a dirty white? Cheers!!
Check warhammer tv there is a painting guide there on how to do the dirty robes as its what I'm painting mine as really simple too which is a good thing as I hate painting

Hi
I have a question I could not see in the rules pack when list had to be in?

Sorry for asking a question that’s been asked so many times before but in the new edition is it still ok to have one of all (4?) variations of banners / musicians etc. (as well as 1 scroll / book rat) in a unit of Monks?
Cheers.
I've not seen anything that says you can't take both banners and musicians not sure on the book or scroll as I think you can only have one unit leader

He's on my list to pick up and try for just both the reason you posted

Anyone had any success running pestilence under the maggotkin rules is it better?

Hi everyone,
I usually play 1k games as Skryre and I tend to face lots of behemoths in lists that I'm not equipped to deal with, so I'm considering bringing a mixed Skaven list with plenty of big cheese to please the Great Horned Rat. Typically, my enemies would be:
Sylvaneth
Drycha Hamadreth
Treelord Ancient
10 Dryads
3 Kurnoth Hunters
Some other small units
orFlesh-Eater Courts
Abbhorant Ghoul King on Terrorgheist
Varghulf Courtier
20 Ghouls
10 Ghouls
A few other unitsThe Sylvaneth is a big problem, because he gets 2 behemoths, one of which (Drycha) has a 3+ save rerolling 1s thanks to the Ancient, they get 10-12 wounds each, they can heal d6 or d3 wounds per turn and they toss mortal wounds like crazy.
The Death player should be killable if I manage to position some Stormfiends, unleash the dakka and pray for good rolls.
That said, I'd like to change my list and give them a taste of their own medecine by bringing some big rats myself. My idea was:
Warpgnaw Verminlord
Verminlord Warpseer
20 Clanrats
20 Clanrats
1 Warp Lightning CannonThe idea is to alpha strike with the Verminlords while the Clanrats and WLC chill on back objectives, then the Warpseer starts spawning Giant Rats like crazy.
Any thoughts?
Cool consept but you can't teleport the warpseer as he is not a skaven the verminlords are demons and the warpgnaw can only tunnel skaven units

Oh wow thank you so much. That was an insanely educational read. Exactly what I needed to start moving forward with my skaven force.
The only question now is how long will it take to build and paint all these rats?!?! ?
Warhammer tv have 2 very good quick guides to painting the robes of plague monks I hate painting so anything quick and easy is good for me

Hi guys just a quick question
Can you make plague monks battle line for a maggotkin army?

120 rats is more than enough with a balanced list, but I'm not sure how I feel about having no shooting at all outside of the Verminlord tail.
I must admit I'm not happy with the lack of shooting but I'm just not 100% sold on the catapult I know it's come down in points so I might give it a go is the formation of 3 worth a go?
