I do want to write a Hag Star list for Gloomspite with the following attributes:

    - Someone casts Cogs, she slows it down

    - She casts Arachnacauldron

    - She heals back up

    - Someone Hand of Gorks her straight into range of her Vomit and her Warscroll spell (or an Endless spell if it's situationally better)

    - Hopefully get her into the Moon quadrant and / or near Arcane with the Hand too

    - Give her Etheral Amulet and she is rerolling all saves, ignoring all rend and healing up D6 per turn

    - She is up in their grill, casting and unbinding multiple spells* with bonuses to everything, damaging their wizards with her unbinds and vomitting all over them

    - Tell your opponent to have fun dealing with that

*You could also take the artefact that gives an extra unbind, so she is unbinding 3 spells per turn with bonuses to all, potentially damaging their casters with each

I would change the order but love the combo

: after someone casts Cogs on her and she slows down time, someone else (or Skragrott as you mentioned) teleports her to position with HoG, and than everything you mentioned follows. BUT when she casts Archcauldron in position she is able to charge 60mm closer as she and Archcauldron are treated as one model.  It doesn't add much but at least you attack first.

Yea this rule has been discussed multiple times since AoS 2.0 dropped, and it is one of those "not for matched play" sort of rules (though those are disappearing, like summoning)

I think a problem would arise for strategies involving purposefully getting your general killed and getting a new general with a new trait.

Thanks. I am ignorant when comes to GHB- stopped buying it after 2017. I thought that if something is in the core shouldn't be nullified by GHB (At least in AoS2). GHB1 used to be patch for AoS1. I thought times have changed. Thanks for claryfiing.

Another thing came to my mind:

Bad Moon Loonshrine lets us reinforce destroyed MCG unit "at the end of EACH of your turns". Does it mean that if they get annihilated on turn 2, I can try to summon them at the end of turn 2 and if I fail 4+, try again at the end of turn 3 and so on until I have a success?

  3. Holy Gork! It was a not a piece of squigcake to get through all that 70 pages...

But anyway I got some nice ideas from you guys, for some tricks and developing my Moonclan army to a Gloomspite horde.

Someone posted before that it is not possible to change the general after the first one dies. It is possible - it is in the core rules.

Any way time for my excitment:

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS BATTLETOME 24 YEARS!!!

Night goblins didn't get so much love since the 90s and I am super happy with the book. I hope some novels will follow and Skragrott will get some eternal love like Skarsnik did. Or maybe it will be the tale of Overbounder.

This has been my number one army since I played WFB for the first time in 94-95. I decided to comeback to the hobby more or less during the End Times. I tried to play Moonclan only when AoS dropped but painting hundreds of gitz takes ages. I took a break when Bonesplitterz arrived because the fluff was like from the 90s. Now the Moon shines on da gitz again and it is time to finish the project!

You guys are missing the point. You are seeing faction building as an optimization process from the point of view of players with big collections. AoS was born to sell more kits, because WHFB was so consolidated that the cycle of selling kits was reduced to selling new army book and couple of kits to people with large collection focused on one or another army.

AoS (and new 40k) are meant to stop this from happening: have and create so much material that you are not trapped into the new edition, new army book, couple kits cycle. The idea is to nudge people not to only have a couple of armies and wait for next edition update, but keep experimenting with new factions, alliances, etc.

Small factions fulfil two roles: keep the illusion that almost all old models have a place and a future in AoS, and keep some room for low cost clever experimentation (FEC, BCR, Bonesplitterz) or salvaging into a really new faction (Sylvaneth, DoK).

This is all quite a genius move from the Kirby administration, that was however so cynically and badly managed that blew on their hand. Roundtree’s Golden era for both GW and customers is simply adding good execution and clever price management, plus better consideration of the customer.

Kirby’s administration wasn’t bad - I think it was supposed to drop the value of GW stocks. Then it was best business to buy shitloads of them change management and harvest now. I am sure it was not a coincidence ;)

A slightly off-topic question for the exalted rumourmongers. Is there a chance there will be an AOS release from Forgeworld in not that distatnt future? And I mean full faction/subfaction release like Legion of Azgorh or Tamurkhan's Horde? I suspect the answer is no, but I still have to ask because I like their stuff a lot.

If I remember corectly from christmas twitch with Forgeworld team, most of them were focused on Necromunda (YES!) the rest on Heresy, BUT there were a few that were doing something for AoS. But they seemed to be so terrorised about not saing a clue of what is to come. The GW rumour machine is insane.

Anyway the closest faction to apear is Fimir in my opinion. From GHB16 we knew that Balefiend Dirach was supposed to apear to make Fimir battleline. Later on we got Noble and we know 2 more are sculpted. Probably GW waits with them for a good moment to release, but man, Destro would use some OP stuff to smash faces right now.

  6. That moment when you think you see a new vampire in the Warhammer Quest cover art only to realize it's a Dark Aelf Fleetmaster.... [emoji52]

Or the STEAMHEAD DUARDIN and you realize it is a Cogsmith ;) "steamhead" rumours are my favourite

  7. If they were to be a subfaction (like say, Fireslayers or Sylvaneth) they may not need to be complete, but I think GW's aim with them is to get them on a par with the old school armies: Light and heavy troops, light and heavy ranged, light and heavy cavalry, a form of large monster, a kind of artillery.

I think there has been no artilery release since the beginning of AoS. None of the new armies have something like that. All the armies are close combat so far(with few exceptions of archers;) )
