At this point I'm starting to think that The Old World will be a game of maps.

"who can draw the most beautiful map of the Old World?! Is up to you, take the new Citadel Pencil and draw your mighty map on the new Citadel paper!".

    You son of a *****, I'm in!

The big problem is how to you adapt what many consider near perfection? Besides a general update to any and all finecast kits, and a new named character or two....

    Truly perfection has been achieved:

826 people is not at all a small sample size statistically. Nationwide polls are often conducted with similar survey sizes and the population of AoS players is relatively much smaller. The margin of error should be pretty good. The more relevant question is "is there a bias or skew to the type of player that would respond to this survey?"

We had this discussion on here before and someone much cleverer than meade the point that as well as size of sample, what is key is how the sample is selected. So a truly random sample of 800 people could in some circumstances be a v good indicator of a much larger population. That is why randomised nationwide polls can have a bit more value - the goonhammer web poll is more akin to a poll that is put on a political parties own web page in terms of randomisation - and that's why it's right to be very sceptical of the data.

That said, that doesn't mean the data isn't useful or interesting and I certainly don't mean to imply that goonhammer act in bad faith like a political party would do!

I have created 8 thus far, usually 1 every time a new Chorf rumour pops up. By the time we finally get a new army I might have chorfified every pepe in existence!

I don't really understand who Pepe is but I understand he is some how related to wronguns.

Can I like and share these Pepes without coming across as a rightwing nutter?

I dunno, their attempts at wild originality have fallen pretty flat so far in AoS, the better results have come from working with the old briefs in original ways.

Don't think I agree with you at all on this

The Idoneth are one of the best looking ranges ever produced by gw.

But even better for me are the Warcry warbands and the sphiranx.

The OBR are sweet too - the bone catapult and the guy on the chair are top top top!

A new range would be extremely exciting for me

FWIW I want to like Fyreslayers, I really think they have great potential, if nothing else to be a mirror to the matriarchal DoK.  have a couple of paint schemes Id like to tryu with them.

I never thought about Fyreslayers as the opposite of DoK but it's a cool comparison

Should be Fyreslayers vs DOK not IDK

Ok folks. If you want to fill the time before the next AoS release you really should read some AoS black library books. The next few months actually have some pretty exciting stuff in that regard.

I've seen a lot of moaning about the lack of recent AoS content but I'm genuinely excited to read Gothghul Hollow. Anna Stephens' non gw books have reviewed extremely well. We could be in for something special.

We've got the Harrowdeep collection of Novellas out now, Kragnos in February and Hallowed ground in March. People have been asking for more focus on the era of the beast are here are two novels doing just that. We'll probably have Soulslayer in April. 5 books in 4 months is pretty good going for AoS and I couldn't really keep up with a faster release schedule.

I can also recommend the Soulbound books. Even if you don't want to play the game, they contain a lot of cool lore and art. The city guides are particularly cool.

Great lost! Richard Strachan has been hitting it out of the park recently too so I'm v excited for Hallowed Ground

  7. I haven't yet read Day of Ascension but i am excited to do so, despite never having read any 40k - the author Adrian Tchaikovsky is responsible for some of my favourite sci fi work of the last few years! (I highly recommend Children of Time).

It's v exciting to see him doing a 40k book...now just need him to take one step further and do AOS!

Wow GW have seen how to make an even worse bloodtithe system

imo Bloodtithe rules are some of the funnest in the entire game

They're not strong and could do with some powering up but i love the mechanic

I wish Slaanesh and Nurgle and Tzeentch got an equivalent  thematic alternative to summoning

In all honesty when I've been against antihalators, turtles, bastilodons etc I'll try and summon a blade bringer on exalted chariot and blend down with a few mortal wounds.

Synessa is good for pinging a couple of mortal wounds!

I've found blissbarb seekers to be a bit of a trap as the mw isn't massively reliable!

Difficulty with OBR and a few mortals here and there is they just got healed back up by Arkhan. Think I need to focus fire more on them next time

Godseeker keeper of secret with hunter supreme and vial of the manticore on the claws (universal artefact). Sacrifice to the fane and hit on 2s rr 1s, wound on 3s rr 1s with the great blade and 2s rr 1s with the claws.

This reliably do good damge to heavy armour piece

Thanks - although I don't think any of these add extra rend to deal with armour do they?

Are there ways to get extra attacks on the KOS?

  10. had my first game with Slaanesh tonight (on TTS) v OBR

took a summoning heavy list based on the new box

managed to summon well - a Keeper turn 2 and 30 daemonettes turn 3

however everything pretty much bounced off the morteks rerolling saves. I had much greater expectations for the summoned Daemons!

What are the best ways to buff a KOS to actually do any damage against well armoured foes? In fact how does Slaanesh deal with armour in general?

  11. For anyone  who wants "proof" that many ppl don't care about playing matched play, just go to hobby discords and hang out or listen to all the hobby podcasts that aren't focused on matched play

Hell, a significant number of people who go to the big matched play tournaments will tell you that their preferred method of play is to play narratively or that they're at the tournament primarily for the painting awards

  12. Hi, old hand at aos but new to slaanesh.

Picked up the new Xmas box and came here to ask re slickblade seekers or blissbarb seekers but see that has already been asked.

My question instead then: what do people use the Fane of Slaanesh for? Seems like most heroes who want to get the plus one to hit aren't going to stick around near the fane (although I guess you place it quite aggressively for summoning off of it).

Is it really there just to generate a DP?

I think that this can only mean one thing that all the rumours are lies and we are getting a massive wave of Fyerslayers and Idonth! Say hello to Magmaqueens, Vulkite Chariots, Grimnir Golems and Magma Canons on the Fyreslayer side and Carcinclaw Cavalry, Namarti Hunters with Harpoons, Embailors on Deeprays and Isharann Tru'heas on the Idoneth side.

The cycle of Denial begins anew!

If GW did a preview and showed all of this, it might be the best release ever

    1 viceleader*

    1-3 infernal enrapturess*

    40 Deamonettes *

    1 keeper of secret *

    1 exalted bladebringer chariot

    3 seeker chariots

    5 seekers

    * most often summoned in my games

I am currently assembling my unit of 3 seeker chariots to summon something that can do mortal wounds as we re very lacking in that regard. I m just concerned how much empty space I need to summon those guys in. Summoning a Viceleader won me the game last night as it was the only base size I could summon on an objective with enemies outside of 9 inches

may i ask why you summon so many infernal enrapturesses? I love the model but (having not yet played a game with Slaanesh) am struggling to get it into lists but love the idea of summoning it. But three? Would love to know why?

When I look at the summoning table to me it looks like only worth summoning Keepers or blocks of Daemonettes!
