Some of them are much better than others. Warbeast is the stand out to me of the Realmgate Wars (but I've not read Lord of Undeath yet).
There are drfinitely some to avoid imho.
I would recommend you listen to the Fjordhammer review of the Gates of Azyr for a very fair review.
It's fair to say that if you view them as you would books on a literature course you might be disappointed.
I'll be very interested to see what format the campaign books (if there are any) look like for this year.
I thought the Realmgate Wars got better and better as they went but the price point was way too high for me. Also way too many battles without any depth of characters.
Hoping to see them continue to improve.

I think the way white dwarf worded it was that the set containing all the scenery was a bundle of all the separate sets plus some additional sets that would not be released separately
All the models that are painted by the heavy metal team are actually resin initial casts rather than plastic so that might not mean much.
