  1. That's the ultimate dilemma for Ironjawz. I love Brutes by 5 cause you get 2 champion and more board coverage. But 10 brutes have to potential to shred most units and trigger smash and bash. Also charging 10 brutes for your opponent is tricky as he open himself for a counter attack.
  2. If you are to use Fungoid, make him your general so he can use his command. Specially with a big hitter like magma dragon. Retreat and charge is arguably one of the best power in the game right now. I think you have too much endless spell. I don't think vortex is that usefull in your list. Not sure about Cogs eiher. You could stick to Lifeswarm and Shackle maybe, and play more body (like a bloob of 40 orruk maybe). And if you play Orruk, you might as well be playing a Warboss for extra attack buff. good luck!
  3. According to the rule a model can finish his move at any vertical point of a terrain feature. Flying model ignore vertical distance, so he can confirm but i guess they put it like this to remember the MK was at some point on the tower less than 1'' from Alarielle
  4. @Rock Lobster nice run, you played two of my buddy (the Idoneth and Sylvaneth).
  5. No you could only retreat with Ironfist and charge with Mighty destroyer. You still cannot charge in the charge phase cause you retreated.
  6. @Malakree this rules is so confusing (the one that warscroll take precedence on core rule). I think RAW, you would be right.
  7. Played this list tonight agains a Sylvaneth Gnarlroot (1 ancient, allarielle, Drycha, brachwraith, branchwitch 30 dryad, 2 x 5 revenant) : Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: AqshyGordrakk The Fist of Gork (580)Orruk Warchanter (80)- Artefact: The Golden Toof Orruk Warchanter (80)Orruk Warboss (140)- Great Waaagh Banner- AlliesFungoid Cave-Shaman (80)- General- Allies6 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (280)10 x Orruk Brutes (360)10 x Orruk Ardboys (160)10 x Orruk Ardboys (160)Quicksilver Swords (20)Total: 1940 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 220 / 400Wounds: 137 He took turn one to cast his buff and screen Ancient his character, but I hit a 6 with G for the free move and charged Ancient and Branchwraith in the back to kill them. Then i won the roll and killed Allarielle. Gordrack was on the rampage! List is fun, did not miss the ironfist. Wanted to try the sword but could not cast them unitl round 3 (game was over anyway).
  8. https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/fw_warscrolls/aos-warscroll-magma-dragon.pdf they could ajust his cost, but at 540 i think he's fine for now.
  9. a guys won a tournament with mixed (his list was 2 x magma dragon, frost lord, 2 fungoid, 3 x 10 orruk). Must admit i like this
  10. yeah, at 40 pts it must be the cheapest screen! can be great to take undefended objective, but unfortunatly they will never take anything with model on it
  11. @DerZauberer I think the same. I find that too often ironfist only purpose is to put on par for movement with other army. An extra command point cost just 50 and will let you have triumph in almost all game. What more difficult is the extra artefact cause it's the only way to get.
  12. @novakai yes6 units at best (will often drop to 3-5 units mid game). Yes each time you roll a dice you add bonus. So foot is around 13 mortal average when it goes off.
  13. Well it's hard to access cause scenario will have much impact on your strategy (can you keep 20 orruk closed to where you deployed, do you need to cover more board ect.) . But by the end of turn 2 you can in average you could have put 20-25 mortal wound just from magic in average. Shaman is not that easy to kill it you screen him, he can have a 3+ save on vortex, a -1 to hit agains shoot and whatever item you put on him. If you're opponent want to kill he will have to open the play and thus will become vulnerable to a multiwaaagh combo. Puke is not that random when you add 24'' range in average to the 2d6 . Foot is random, but that often actually play in your favor. Not much player want to risk being stomped by 20 mortal, so they will usually try to handle you're wizard, which kinda play in your favor. Also, with the 30'' dispelling, it's probably more reliable than lots of spells anyway (once cast it will rarelly get dispeled) So you're oppening play could look something like: R1: Roll for free move, and maybe reposition your weirfist's shaman. Cast balewind, and either bolt or foot. Throw geminid to their frontline with the 2nd shaman. Move conservatively to screen the shaman from melee and grab nearby objective. R2: Cast bolt / puke / foot/ gemenid /shield. Adapt your play, depending if your opponent played R1 aggressive or defensive. If they went aggressive you can try to triple waagh for the win. If they play defensive wait for the right opportunity to counter attack.
  14. i was about to take that on friday against idoneth but my game got canceled. But i'm confident it's a good army Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: AqshyMegaboss on Maw-Krusha (440)- General- Trait: Ironclad - Artefact: Ignax's Scales Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (120)Orruk Weirdnob Shaman (120)Orruk Warchanter (80)- Artefact: The Golden Toof 5 x Orruk Brutes (180)5 x Orruk Brutes (180)5 x Orruk Brutes (180)10 x Orruk Ardboys (160)6 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (280)Weirdfist (180)Balewind Vortex (40)Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (40)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 127
  15. Yeah, in fact I think only list I wouldn't bring to a non-tournament game would be Gorefist as it's NPE (most Alphastrike list are). With Ironfist/Bloodtooth you're more aiming at a Beta strike, which is probably weaker game wise, but also funnier to play. Personnaly i think the best overall list is the weirdfist (both powerfull and fun to play)
  16. @Malakree i think it was intended that you can use it any time. For the 'any' i would guess their intention was you can bring 1 units per game. But RAW, it seem one you trigger the ability, you can actually get back all destroyed units. In that case i guess a small ardfist (3 x 10 ardboys) is worth trying. You can screen with them turn 1-2 then agains non shooty army you could realisticaly bring back 2 units during turn 3 and grab some objectives.
  17. @IndigoGirls They fixed nothing with seraphon. Good luck winning agains 4 engine of the god summoning 20 skink per turn. You just can't. Basically, Seraphon and Sylvaneth (to a lesser extent) where already good army. Now they can generate 20-50% more board coverage than most army for the same cost as before. It's already hard to balance point in a game like AoS (and GW are not very good in that area, they usually take 2-3 iterations to get points right). Now you have to deal with "balanced" point, but with armies that can generate point on the board. Summoning was perfect in the previous edition: It gave you versatility and board coverage, but you have to keep point. Now it's either play summoning, or play with an handicap. I'll stop there because it's off topics (except the fact that BCR will never beat seraphon and sylvaneth in this edition)
  18. golden tooth is now immune to battleshock wholly within 12''
  19. almost like my list, but you should split the brutes to max weirdfist units. i use gemenid, but Cog is also a good idea. Personnaly i would use the golden tooth because losing brutes in battleshock is really bad. Sword of judgement on foot boss with only 1 warchanter doesn't look that usefull anyway
  20. Why not! I think i still actually have 10 wolves riders taking dust somewhere could put them to use! I was thinking of boar because i probably want to play Greenzkin warboss anyway (meaning they can benefit from generic waaagh and kill unprotected character). I was thinking that with let say 6-9 gruntas and 10 boarboyz, that might be enough mobility so you can ditch the ironfist. They are bad enough that you don't care too much if they die as chaff or decoy units, but strong enough that they can't be ignored, as they can kill most foot heroe and weak infantry siting on an objectives.
  21. I had an idea today about using bonesplitterz pig (the one that retreat and charge) in Ironjawz. 10 pig is only 200 pts, add 30 wounds to your army and huge board coverage
  22. @SatanicBrew if you like pigs you can start with something like this (around 200USD) Allegiance: BonesplitterzWurrgog Prophet (140)Maniak Weirdnob (120)Savage Big Boss (120)- Granite Choppas5 x Savage Boarboyz (100)5 x Savage Boarboyz (100)5 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (140)10 x Savage Boarboy Maniaks (280)Total: 1000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 20Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 93 Problem with Bonesplitta is that they are expensive (all wizard are resin and they don't have a start collecting boxe. Boar are good value, you get 10 boars for 50$ US. The are also very good overall units (both verison. Maybe look for used model, you never know!
  23. i think Cog is a bit overated. With bloodtooth you already have +d6 and +2 to charge. Cog won't help you that much get in combat in round 1 at this point. And you already have 300 pts invested in non-wound. I think Cog is better in a weirdfist for the extra cast and reroll save! I wouldn't go for an extra Megaboss (you already have one, 2 seem redundant) use greenskin one instead, his waaagh is more reliable and reroll 1 add lots on damage in IJ. think extra pigs or you could also replace 5 brutes for 10 ardboys, that would leave room for another 10 ardboys, buffing your wound total.
  24. You want to cast twice either Foot, Bolt or puke to get your bataillion bonus. you want to cast endless spell with extra wizard. in fact it's lot better than before in weirdfist and for 40 pts only
  25. they did such a bad mistake with summoning that it's frustrating.
