  1. did some customisation for a jungle themed gitz army with main focus on troggoth that are supported by a cannibalistic grot tribe. it includes an 'arachnatrogg' and last but not least 'da trogg moon' :) already had my first 1.5k game, and they are much fun (even if not high competetive)

anyone else doing conversions for their army :)?

    Hello again!

    Another question as always:

    Legion of blood command trait:
Swift Strikes: Each time you make a hit roll of 6+ in the combat phase for your general, you can make one additional hit roll for the same weapon against the same target.

What if an attack with your commander have frightfull touch? (Each time youmake a hit roll of +6 for ***, that attack inflicts X mortal wound instead of the normal damage. Do not make a wound or save roll.

Would all 6+ on that attack inflict mortal wounds and then i get another dice to roll and hit again? And that could inflict another mortal wound on a 6+? (And would i get another hit on that hit after hit on a 6+?)

Becauce giving for example the Coven Throne which has 25 attacks total, and 12 with frightful touch this command trait sounds kinda good.
Or giving her: Walking Death: If you roll a 6+ to Hit with one of your general's melee weapons, you deal mortal wounds equal to the weapon's Damage.

That together with an artifact that would give one of your attacks mortal wounds on +6, since it would stack from diffrent sources as far as i've been told on here.

you have to take care that some effects like the weapon artefacts for a hero only counts for his weapon, and not for its mount. so in your example for a coven throne, the artefacts would only be available for her melee weapons and not for the handmaidens and spectral hosts weapons (they count as mount as per latest faq)

  3. I started a conversion for my (two) mortis engines into a ghost ship. anyone tried a list with two of them? I only played the arkhan battalion, but I'd like to include both in order to get the 'full experience' :)

Thanks, I mostly plan on having a mixture of vampire coast units and my own mad designs. I currently am planning to stop by my local store this weekend to pick up the following

    1) shipwreck(to make the necrofex colossus)

    2) Ogors(animated hulks)

3)Zombies and free guild(Pirate crew and general  infantry)

regarding 1), I build a ship(wreck) for my undead army from the idoneth ship, playable as 2 mortis engines (you can separate them). so it's doable :)

  5. "count as move" is not a move at all. it just prevents your model from moving again. (iirc when stormcast teleport onto the field, this count as move, but they didn't move with respect to movement, so their archery can use the not moved profiles. have to check faq if I remember this correctly...)

since you remove your models from the board, they do not interact with anything on the board.

furthermore, a 'set up' on the field does not prevent a unit to move, therefore you have these extra lines as 'this count as the units move'. an example would be seraphon teleport, where they still could move after set up (if you roll good)

Edit: found the FAQ regarding this @Vasshpit

What are we talking about that's rerolling all misses?

there's an artefact that let's you reroll all failed to hits for all nighthaunt in a certain distance once a game (don't know the exact values and name, don't have the tome currently available)

they are using "6 or more" (like the Gaping Maw ability of the TG) for "6+"

and "roll of 6" for "unmodified roll" in the FEC Battletome

they are inflicting mortal wounds on unmodified hit rolls of 6

it was mentioned in an earlier faq that "a roll of 6" means "a roll of 6 or more", so it uses the modified roll. only if the rule started "unmodified roll" it triggers on unmodified. I'll try to find the exact faq

  8. and don't forget that you can still shoot/casts spells when one of the units can fly. so alarielle can shoot out of woods, and kurnoth onto flying targets (or need to stand at the edge of the forest to get both cover and los)

He was very specific, you can choose each round of battle which one she will use. He has also played against the #1 ranked sylvaneth player in the US who plays it like this. Not to mention the TO for SoCal open and broadside bash(two major tournaments) agree with this as well.

Either way I’ll be playing it like this haha I just posting this so people don’t limit themselves and on how awesome drycha is.

her swarm weapon choice is an "either...or", so you have to choose one that will be fixed for the whole fight. the only thing that changes inbetween rounds is her mood, which effects which weapon can refill ones, but she still keeps the same swarm.

Anyone got any advice for taking on Treemen? Or heavily armoured units in general? We can put out a lot of dice but against the high armour of a Treeman I was a bit stumped (ha!) last time I came up against one.

best are mortals wounds, from spirit hosts or hexwraiths. alternatively, surround it with a 20-40 model chainrasp horde to just stall him with an endless mob.

  11. I just wonder, when reading Reikenor's corpse candle ability, it says that it can deal 1 mortal wound against an enemy model (instead of unit), so can it be used to do 1 mortal wound against icon or banner bearers model to snipe it out of a unit? or can the enemy still allocate to another model in the unit? would be very strong if the first case

there are no starting size restrictions anymore

most abilities return slain models, some add models to the unit. if it's stated add, there is only the max unitsize restiction

okay, but all courtiers are changed to return slain models only now, so they at least can't increase the unit size :/

so vargoukfs 'to the king' only returns slain models and can't add more units like written above

Is there a matched play point cost for the anniversary GoS? The battle tome and ghb only have the regular lantern version

140 points, same as the one with lantern. but keep in mind that he cannot get the lantern artefacts

This guy seems great, you can teleport him and his friends to 9" and if they fail the charge, they can't be countercharged next turn cause of the Glass. The spell is also great, gives another opportunity to get the +10 charge bonus combat round and movements spells are always good.

Unluckily, this doesn't stack with Chainguard battalion as said before, because the spell should be cast by the battalion's own Guardia of Souls, so no double chainrasp regen ?.

unfortunately, this won't work because you teleport out of 9" and the ability is within 9". nonetheless, it makes even the 3" charge less likely to activate, not to mention that units more than 6 1/2" away can't get a successful charge (without any +charge buffs)

the model is 25€, or for free if you order for 180€. it's basically a GoS with a sand hourglass instead of the lantern, so it's easily convertible and the scroll can be used as seen above. I think the most you can revive is d6 (lantern) + 3 (nagashizzar lantern artefact) + d6 (from battalion).

the Sand hourglass could be taken from the batlemage sets as I used for my cairne wraith

  15. I got the store birthday version of the GoS. he has a special lantern and a unique spell (which is mentioned in the chainguard battalion, if you have ever wondered what the second spell there is ?). the spell sounds good, as he allows a unit to move 6", retreat and charge

Can I always choose it as additional Artefact (on top of first army one)? Or is just additional option for normal artefact?

you can choose 1 weapon, artefact or lantern for each artefact slot (1 per default, 1 per battalion), but each can be chosen only once (so not two time the same lantern, but you can select 2 different lanterns or 1 lantern 1 weapon etc)

What is the difference between Guardian of Souls and Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Latern?

you can use the lantern artefacts only for the GoS with nightmare lantern. there is another GoS version (gw shop anniversary exclusive order) which has another lantern that let's all enemy units within 9" charge with only 1d6 instead of 2d6.
