In theory as the first Warhammer Quest was 40K and then we had AoS it should return to 40K.

However CC has shown that we really have no clue how to predict things when it comes to the Quest line as CC has basically proven impossible to predict what GW would do with it at any stage.

The first of the new Warhammer Quests was AoS but the point (well both points) stand. Logically it would be 40k next, but who knows with GW.

I am just a lurker here but god did I miss this forum.

So, what do you think about that new Tzeentch warband? It's so....unorthodox. I mean for a Tzeentch unit.

I really like it, partly because it’s so unorthodox for Tzeentch models. The armour is really cool and blank masks like that are always a winner in my book.

My first thought was executioners but not sure if they fit this setting well.

Malerion  Shadow Aelves... Was the edited Community post not confirmation of the Umbraneth as being the name?? Sounds like a good counter part to the Lumineth.

The Umbraneth part was never part of the article, it was an edited post that made its way round the internet.

    Hyped for the gloomspite one!

I thought the second was sylvaneth, although maybe it’s not organic enough, and I don’t know too much about sylvaneth… heraldry? But the eyes, mouth, horns…

Nah, it’s not anything like sylvaneth iconography. Too dark and too even/consistent, like a metal mask rather than organic horns.

  5. The Twitter post for todays RE says ‘there’s somefin strange going on with this weeks rumour engine!’ Now I used to be the biggest proponent of the rumour engine text not meaning anything, but now I’m thinking probably fins rather than feathers.

The Old World will be resin or plastic? Did we already know ?

i think i heard long ago it will be for Forgeworld but i don't even know if that's true

It’s being done by Forge World, but that doesn’t mean as much as it once did - the specialist games team are part of forge world and they do quite a bit of plastic. There will almost certainly be some resin though

Yeah, the way it’s slapped on at the end of a list in the middle of a random week does feel like they were obligated to post something before the year is over.

They still need a Dark Lands map to show how the heck Cathay can possibly interact with the western storyline.

So that’s my guess. Border Prince-style map of Kislev and Civil War provinces able to fight Cathay in expansions with a Chaos Dwarves logo is slapped in the corner to keep interests up.

Sad thing is I know it’ll work for me. Love a nice map.

Here’s hoping it’s either confirmation of Tomb Kings, Vampire Coasts, or better yet a release date!!!

They won’t even give a release date when they preview the starter box or whatever the first release ends up being.

Excited to see what they’ve got for us though, nice to get some idea of what’s going on at this point.

Did they just reveal Dark Mech! 🤯

Or is it just a new character model?

Oh man if it is Dark Mech I have my next army!

I think it’s just a character for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it heralded a bigger Dark Mech release in the next edition.

it does feel early, but we all know its coming summer 2023, and its warhammer 40ks 35th anniversary, plus this reveal show is JUST 40k stuff so there has to be something big to fill the time.

There’s a difference between us all who are plugged into the rumours and the general release pattern having a pretty good idea that it’s coming next July and them announcing to everybody ‘hey you know that Imperial Guard and World Eaters codex that we’ve not officially announced yet? You’ll get 6 months use out of it. Enjoy!’ If anything, I could see some campaign books like Gathering Storm being shown to lead up to a new edition.

They're probably just continuing to be coy about 40k 10th edition which is 100% getting announced on saturday.

That would be a very early announcement for 10th. Especially when there’s codexes for 9th not out or announced yet.

Both the bones and ramshackle feel of the cane give off destruction-y vibes to me, actually.

I’m getting Flesh Eater Courts from the bones, myself. I can see goblin like the example, but apart from a greenish clawed hand (that matches FEC too), the details are more bugs and shrooms for the gobbos.
