And why not? I don't understand people being so caught up in allegiances. Majority of players (in my area about 90%) are faction specific players matched play or narrative. If rumors are true then in 2018 so far we will get Battletomes for  2 elves factions, one Chaos and Death. If there is some destruction coming in 2018 it's quite fine mix.

I guess they will use Tenebrael in DoK and I believe both Darling Covent and Scourge Privateers will be slowly removed along with other smaller factions. As obviously Malerion and Tyrion Elves aren't coming anytime soon so I doubt they will use any older kits when released.

Yeah most people seem to play faction armies, not alliance armies, from what I’ve seen. And with the campaign not being tied to alliances, I’m not sure it matters either. Either you like the selves or you don’t, doesn’t matter if you play order armies or not.

The guy (temouloun) that told us about Custodes and TS in november and about DoK has spoken:

This is an actual piece of scenery GW is going to sell, and that will have its own rules like the Sylvaneth Wyldwood. It's part of the entire Sea Aelves new range, which are absolutely stunning visually, will have tons of sea creatures to ride, one of which is MASSIVE, and unique high cost heroes with crazy design. Also forget about the Cthullu look, their design is closer to bad-ass Atlantean Spartans.

God this sounds awesome. I hope it’s true. Although this and DoK is gonna be expensive.

Yeah ! I'd say 3rd or 10th ; next week end is second half Custodes - maybe with Thousand Codex (because no new mini with this one).

We'll see with the pre-pre order this evening.

The TS codex doesn’t come with new minis, but the Tzaangor stuff will probably be reboxed with AoS and 40k on, and the Mutalith is coming back out properly with it, so it’ll probably get it’s own slot.

The article talks about 6 new allegiances being covered and then reveals 5. Death is covered in GH 2017. So unless you give a source, I call that “knowledge” of  Death being the 6th allegiance wrong.

‘Inside, you’ll find the warscrolls for every single Death model (so far…) alongside four new Allegiances within Death – the Grand Host of Nagash, Legion of Shadows, Legion of Sacrament and Legion of Blood. You’ll also find rules for the Soulblight vampires, if you’re looking to field one of Death’s most elite armies. If you would rather have an army formed from multiple facets of Nagash’s legions, there are also rules for those who pledge themselves more generally to the powers of Death.’

So, Nagash, Shadows, Sacrament, Blood, Soulblight and Death.

I think the lore on that has changed a bit, Nurgle=stagnation has been the word in a lot of older sources, but I have not really seen it around lately. Newer background shows Nurgle more as a "Circle of Life" kind of guy, propably to differentiate him more from forces like Death in AoS or Necron and the Imperium in wh40k (there is some focus on the derogation of the "Corpse God" in the Deatguard lore).

I really think this is a good change, since the circular creation process meshes much better with Nurgles other qualities (like his joyfulness, industrious energy, the fatherly portrayal) and the nature of Chaos (overwhelming emotion, constant change and mutation).

I think the contrast with Tzeentch is kept well intact this way.

Nurgles way is at once predictable (always death and decay, follow by new, more fecund life) and directionless (Nurgle just wants his love, his children and his garden spread everywhere).

Meantime Tzeentch is the most unpredictable of the Chaos gods, but he always seeks some sort of specific end in the influence he excerts (no matter how pointless those ends might be).

Nurgle is about decay and new growth where undeath stops without rebirth.

Ah yes - in DoT it says ‘Tzeentch pits his ceaseless evolution against the stagnant loop of Nurgles closed circle of life and death.’ So it is still a stagnation, but as in sticking to the natural cycle of things, not a literal stagnation.

    He's pretty awesome. I'd love a Moonclan reimagining where they're half fungus/mushrooms.

Yeah, I would like that too, much more than ‘normal goblins but with hoods’.

    He looks pretty cool.

Anyone else started using the word 'portent' in conversation recently?

My gf remarked on my vocabulary but i didn't want to admit I only knew the word from a toy.

I know a lot of the more esoteric words in my vocabulary through wargaming (esoteric may well be one of them).

I don't think it can be Lord of the Rings. The Rumour Engine (as far as I'm aware) has only been for releases done from the main studio. LOTR is now handled exclusively by Forgeworld.

As for the rumour engine image. I don't see it being a Death thing, the arrows or bolts, whatever they are look a bit too clean for Death or Destruction. The metal work on the quiver leads me to think it's some fashion of Dark Aelf (Shadow aelf or otherwise), or it could be something Chaos as well (Potential Darkoath stuff?). I'd probably guess Shadow Aelves though, as I guess in theory we should be much closer to that release since we've had the little serpent on hand rumour forever now.

There’s been at least one rumour engine from Blood Bowl (Goblin chainsaw guy) so there is some precedent for FW stuff.

    The User Temouloun on War-of-Sigmar:

"I heard a rumor that not one but two Aelves factions are in the production line. One is the Sea/Cthullu we've heard about for a long time and the other one is a female only Aelf cult/group/thing linked to Morathi and with a strong "black" theme. And by heard I mean read, and by rumor I mean a conversation between an employee who has access to the production line and a selected community contributor. You have no reason to believe me but I'm so freaking excited I had to tell."

Could be nothing but two aelven factions fits the two aelven heroes from Silver Tower.

I really hope this is true.
